I'm not entirley sure. The reason Skeletron instantly kills you if you attempt to explore the dungeon before fighting him is because you are supposed to defeat him first.

In my experience, failed boss summons (apart from Skeletron, as I metioned above) did nothing whatsoever, so I assume you are alright if you try to summon the Snow Legions after December.

The Dao of Pow is complete rape when farming statues on Blood Moons. I recorded its complete chaos. Should I acquire 2 more fish statues, the amount of money made would shoot up icon_smile.gif.

I totally agree. (It's especially great for Wyverns too. Seriously, who doesn't hate those bloody things?)

Well, I just defeated the Destroyer and the Twins. Now all I've got left is Skeletron Prime.

...

Oh dear lord, this is gonna be a long day.

I managed to defeat all three hardmode bosses, each one day after the other. Once you get a good strategy down, you enjoy fighting them again and again. I will share the strategies I used below. The one against the Destroyer I take no credit for, as it was Koh's advice I used for that. The other two, I took advice from the wiki, I believe, but figured out my own strategy when it comes to mobility, which I think was the most key component for success.

General

Destroyer

The Twins

Skeletron Prime

Very nice little guide. Thanks bunches, Nate. :] I haven't fought one of those bosses in just under a month, oddly.

I wonder if I wish that bosses should be affected by lava. Think about what that would do to the battles. icon_razz.gif

We still on, Saturday, for the Wall of Flesh?

Wow, this game is incredible! I always wanted to play Minecraft, but it didn't play well enough on my crappy computer. Then I found out about Terraria, a "2D version" of Minecraft. However, Terraria is no copy of Minecraft as everyone already knows, it is a similar but a much more fun game, at least to me! icon_smile.gif

I just spent half a day making this one big tunnel and I still haven't reached the Underworld/Hell. I wonder if I ever get bored to this game... The worlds are so huge and there are millions of possibilities of what to do and how to proceed. Bye bye real life.

Yeah, that's what happened to me. I got bored of Minecraft fairly quickly. There just wasn't enough to do. Your creations don't really amount to anything in the end. You can create farms, but for what? Only for the sake of creating them. In Terraria, any farm that you make is for a specific purpose. Almost everything is practical. (Though I hope we'll never have a need to use the toilet or shower decorations. icon_razz.gif )

Eagerly awaiting Redigit's next Dev post. I doubt it'll come any time soon, though. I don't know whether or not they're going to pull out tiny updates, or go for a full-out version 1.2 in another half a year or so.

ShadowTiger: Yes! Terraria: Sims Edition!

Nathaniel: Thanks for the guide! I managed to beat Skeletron Prime a few days ago. I dunno why, but for some reason, the Twins were the easiest for me. They were the only ones that didn't hand my ass to me two or three times before I killed them.

About Terraria. Redigit's last project, Super Mario Bros. X, ended at version 1.3, after about a year and a half of development. (He also later made a fake cease-and-desist to cover himself, but that's another story.) Redigit makes great games, but when one of 'em stops... BAM! No warning whatsoever. (He literally announced its cancellation over the chat in the middle of the day and spoke nothing of it again, until he said a few months later that lawyers gave him a cease-and-desist over the phone. He later announced it was a hoax.)

Anyhow, that aside, Terraria does have a larger audience than Super Mario Bros. X. Also, admitting to lying probably DID require some maturity on Redigit's part, so I doubt he'd end it totally abruptly like he did with Super Mario Bros. X. Well, that's what I hope.

After something like this, I don't think Redigit has as much of a reason to step down his game. If anything, what worries me is an easily distracted sprite artist.

Terraria 1.1.2 is here!

Alright. It's just languages and four minor bugs (two of which are only relevant to multiplayer modes), so no major changes or new content. Nice to see something though.

At least we know it's being updated. A lot of Devs release a major version, then sit back and play other games because they've "done enough for a while." Oy. I still wonder just how incremental new releases are going to be.

I've started playing this game and DAMN it sure is fun! icon_biggrin.gif

One thing I don't quite get is how I killed the Wall of Flesh, tried to summon it again, and it didn't appear... icon_confused.gif I know I've fought it twice on a single world before...

Should totally bring your best character to our Terraria Server, Sacre Tor. We play every Saturday afternoon.

Not really sure why the Wall of Flesh wasn't summoned. Did you summon it in the middle of the map, in the Underworld? Was it a deep pool of lava?

Oh. From the wiki:

QUOTE
When this item is equipped as an accessory, it becomes possible to kill the Guide with weapons. If the item is destroyed by Lava in the Underworld, it will kill the guide and summon the Wall of Flesh. If the item is destroyed while there is no living Guide, the Wall of Flesh will not appear.
Interesting. o.o! That kind of implies that the guide himself becomes the Wall of Flesh. If there is no Guide, no WoF appears. Direct correlation much?

When the Wall of Flesh is summoned, your guide is immediately killed. When you tried to summon him again, he probably didn't because a new guide had not arrived on your world yet. You can't summon the Wall of Flesh unless you have a guide somewhere on your world.
