Also, i can raise it's stats by giving her lots of HP UP and proteins and all that good stuff icon_xd.gif
Good luck affording all of it, though. icon_razz.gif

For the record, I plan on choosing Totodile as my starter, simply because I chose a Charmander on FireRed, and Chikorita looks f*cking stupid in two of its three forms, IMO.

Still no clue what my name or my rival's will be. I chose William for my name in FireRed (because it's my real name, obviously), and thought it only appropriate that my rival should be Harold. Only someone who knows British history will get the reference, though.

You know, it's rather sad....I have yet to finish FireRed.

It's just too adorable and cute for me to evolve it. Reminds me of my min pin icon_razz.gif
I know that Chickorita doesn't have advantages in the first gym, that's why there are other Pokemons i can catch that does. I can beat the first gym with a mareep or a geodude, i can beat the second gym with my pidgey. Also, i can raise it's stats by giving her lots of HP UP and proteins and all that good stuff icon_xd.gif
You can only raise your stats by a maximum of 25 points at level 100 that way... through EV training you can extend it to 63 points (at 100 again). After that you can't really do anything. icon_shrug.gif I played through the original Red version without evolving Charmander (so that I learned moves earlier) but it was literally useless in the late game.

I'm going to trade over eggs for all the guys I can't get right away. I've already played Gold/Silver/Crystal probably 5+ times, so I'm trying to play it with a team of guys I've never used before. Am in the process of producing some eggs of these guys tonight, actually.

Only 5? Man, my Diamond game gave me like, 15 at the end. 4 of which were powerhouses, but the other 11 weren't too far behind. I mean, the games pretty much over with after the Elite Four in most of these games (not counting G/S/C of course).
That's actually not a bad idea; I always thought Houndour and Murkrow should have been in Johto the whole time anyway.

My first Elite Four attempt in Diamond was Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray, Alakazam, and Gengar. I was able to get to the Champion, but because they were so low-leveled nothing could outspeed Garchomp and it was able to OHKO everyone on my team. icon_frown.gif I ended up having to bump it up to 6. I actually really like the post-game in Diamond, especially because of the Battle Tower.

I'd rather hatch the eggs and then send them over, that way you get boosted exp. Boosted exp is niiiiice.

Indeed, Miss. Indeed. However, Boosted exp can cause the Pokemon to get over the level limit and then it will disobey you which is nooooot cool.

Amen to that!

And, I'm choosing Cyndaquil as my starter. I've NEVER started a game with a non-fire type (mostly because my brother and cousin would choose the grass and water types before me; now it's just habit, plus, for most games, it makes the gameplay harder since the first gyms are rock or something). Plus, Cyndaquil is just awesome, and the fully evolved forms of Chikorita and Totodile are lame, imo.

I always end up with five main pokemon (though, usually not the strongest... I potion my way through the final cave icon_razz.gif), with another HM pokemon, usually 'round level 15. My team'll probably end up being something like: Typhlosion, Ampharos, Azumarill, Ambipom (if that's possible without the Nat. Dex; Hitmontop if not), Scizor (if I can find someone to trade with; if not, then Heracross), and... a fuzzy HM pokemon. But, I'll probably replace Ambipom with a Pidgeot, since I always like to have a Flyer around.

I don't like to use mystical, near-mystical, or psuedo-mystical pokemon much (like, Tyranitar, Suicune, Lugia, etc...), just 'cause I like to go through the game with a challenge. I also like to keep my legendaries very "untouched", so if I ever feel like training them, I'll have a clean slate to start with. Though, sometimes I do break down and use Lugia or something occasionally...

And, I might just trade over a couple Sinnoh pokes from my Platinum version that I hatched (and left at level 1) just for the heck of it. I did breed a shiny Shinx which I really want to use... (RNG manipulation ftw! XD )

Btw, I got two Jirachis if someone 'needs' one!

My Jirachi is Modest nature with max Sp. Attack IVs. :O

Lol, I personally don't really care for the final forms of any of the Johto starters. Meganium wouldn't look so bad if it didn't always looked crammed into an invisible box. (I'm not sure what the HG/SS sprites look like, as I've refrained from watching anything pertaining to the game out of fear of spoiling it) However, I always started with Cyndaquil whenever I restarted Silver, and Typhlosion was my main in Crystal. I want something different this time around. icon_razz.gif

Naming the hero Jimmy, because that's his name on the show. Rival, don't know, but if we can name the chick too, I'll name he Lyra, like from the show.

Speaking of Lyra, I was annoyed the changed Crys to Lyra in HG/SS...I guess she's not bad, but she bugs me only for that reason...lol

I think Lyra has more spotlight than krys. Wasn't her name Marina on the show? She's not that bad at all. Although her name bugs me. I prefer "Kotone" 10 times better than her english name "Lyra".

I'm rather thrilled, I got myself a Jirachi from Gamestop today, and I didn't have to go in, and feel like an out of place 25 year old getting an event Pokemon. >.> Trust me, that's why I missed the Darkrai event... icon_frown.gif I learned that Gamestop isn't in the mall here either, it's in a stripmall that is kind of secluded. But, I pulled into a parking spot in front of the store, took out my DSLite, and got me a Jirachi. lol Didn't even step foot inside. icon_smile.gif Now that I know I can do that, now I can get them whenever they happen. I also got that Pikachu colored Pichu through the WiFi connection tonight. But yeah, now I can enjoy that unlocked part in SS when I get it on the 17th. (I pre-ordered off of Amazon for $35 with free 2-day shipping, but I don't mind the extra couple days of waiting.) I am also going to go through the game slowly, and enjoy it, as I did with my first Pokemon game that I had ever purchased, being Silver, so yeah, I will be taking it slow, and building up a strong team. As far as my starter, I will be picking Chikorita as usual. I always seem to go with the grass type starter. icon_biggrin.gif

Nope, but he can learn some pretty nice ones like earthquake, brick break, and shadow claw.

I don't think it's worth the trouble because Typhlosion's Attack is pretty weak.

Lol, don't feel bad. I saw a guy who looked about 30 with his girlfriend at the Darkrai event. icon_razz.gif

Just one more week. I'm totally psyched for this.

icon_lol.gif I saw two parents and their kid, and all three of them were downloading the Toys R Us Arceus. I guess for some things there just aren't age barriers. icon_razz.gif

The final week is the hardest to wait. Why? If the games keep tradition, the ROM will be leaked onto the internet sometime this week. Then I have to deal with that temptation. Great...

So, the Pikachu-colored Pichu is in the US as well? Awesome!

Heh, I went to Toys R Us to get... I forget... but, yeah, I went there and was going to get an event pokemon. Heh, there was this group of kids there, probably from some daycare or something, but there was, like, 15 of them in these green shirts all trading/playing and saying how "I'm never trading Rayquaza! He's the best!" or "Can I borrow your DS for a second?!"

It was funny, kinda, but then I realized that I was there as well... icon_razz.gif
