Still no clue what my name or my rival's will be. I chose William for my name in FireRed (because it's my real name, obviously), and thought it only appropriate that my rival should be Harold. Only someone who knows British history will get the reference, though.
You know, it's rather sad....I have yet to finish FireRed.

I know that Chickorita doesn't have advantages in the first gym, that's why there are other Pokemons i can catch that does. I can beat the first gym with a mareep or a geodude, i can beat the second gym with my pidgey. Also, i can raise it's stats by giving her lots of HP UP and proteins and all that good stuff
Only 5? Man, my Diamond game gave me like, 15 at the end. 4 of which were powerhouses, but the other 11 weren't too far behind. I mean, the games pretty much over with after the Elite Four in most of these games (not counting G/S/C of course).
My first Elite Four attempt in Diamond was Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray, Alakazam, and Gengar. I was able to get to the Champion, but because they were so low-leveled nothing could outspeed Garchomp and it was able to OHKO everyone on my team.

I'd rather hatch the eggs and then send them over, that way you get boosted exp. Boosted exp is niiiiice.
Indeed, Miss. Indeed. However, Boosted exp can cause the Pokemon to get over the level limit and then it will disobey you which is nooooot cool.

Amen to that!

And, I'm choosing Cyndaquil as my starter. I've NEVER started a game with a non-fire type (mostly because my brother and cousin would choose the grass and water types before me; now it's just habit, plus, for most games, it makes the gameplay harder since the first gyms are rock or something). Plus, Cyndaquil is just awesome, and the fully evolved forms of Chikorita and Totodile are lame, imo.
I always end up with five main pokemon (though, usually not the strongest... I potion my way through the final cave
I don't like to use mystical, near-mystical, or psuedo-mystical pokemon much (like, Tyranitar, Suicune, Lugia, etc...), just 'cause I like to go through the game with a challenge. I also like to keep my legendaries very "untouched", so if I ever feel like training them, I'll have a clean slate to start with. Though, sometimes I do break down and use Lugia or something occasionally...
And, I might just trade over a couple Sinnoh pokes from my Platinum version that I hatched (and left at level 1) just for the heck of it. I did breed a shiny Shinx which I really want to use... (RNG manipulation ftw! XD )

Btw, I got two Jirachis if someone 'needs' one!

My Jirachi is Modest nature with max Sp. Attack IVs. :O
Lol, I personally don't really care for the final forms of any of the Johto starters. Meganium wouldn't look so bad if it didn't always looked crammed into an invisible box. (I'm not sure what the HG/SS sprites look like, as I've refrained from watching anything pertaining to the game out of fear of spoiling it) However, I always started with Cyndaquil whenever I restarted Silver, and Typhlosion was my main in Crystal. I want something different this time around.

Nope, but he can learn some pretty nice ones like earthquake, brick break, and shadow claw.
I don't think it's worth the trouble because Typhlosion's Attack is pretty weak.

I'm rather thrilled, I got myself a Jirachi from Gamestop today, and I didn't have to go in, and feel like an out of place 25 year old getting an event Pokemon. >.> Trust me, that's why I missed the Darkrai event...
Lol, don't feel bad. I saw a guy who looked about 30 with his girlfriend at the Darkrai event.
Just one more week. I'm totally psyched for this.

The final week is the hardest to wait. Why? If the games keep tradition, the ROM will be leaked onto the internet sometime this week. Then I have to deal with that temptation. Great...

Heh, I went to Toys R Us to get... I forget... but, yeah, I went there and was going to get an event pokemon. Heh, there was this group of kids there, probably from some daycare or something, but there was, like, 15 of them in these green shirts all trading/playing and saying how "I'm never trading Rayquaza! He's the best!" or "Can I borrow your DS for a second?!"
It was funny, kinda, but then I realized that I was there as well...
