Know what? Travel here to me, since I get stuck at almost every room it would be much simpler if you stood behind me while I'm playing...

This time I went to the east 2nd floor and after much walking I arrived to a sandy room with candle in the middle. That east door doesn't want to open no matter what item I use on it or on the cracks or on the candle. I whistled, too. I even backtracked and examined the previous rooms again. But nothing. Where's anything? (I retried since I used up all my bombs)

Lol. I wish I could.

Bomb the crack next to the door.

Aaaaaaaaaahhh!

I can't go through even the next room! This is below all expectations... I need a key! The last key I got was by killing the lynels and I used it to get in the sandy room... And now I need a key again? I wish I had the hammer from Requiem. I used all items on all parts of the wall and on the door, whistled, tried to push wall, waited motionless, but nothing... I again went back to the previous rooms for an extra key, but I found just 3 thigs, one: nothing, two: nothing, three: very nothing!!

What's with this world?!

Go back to the 3 door room. Use that ladder of yours and check the south wall.

I know that you put a lot of effort into this quest, and I recognize your skill as a quest author, but this is where I put it down. Level 5 is simply ridiculous. I know how to get through it, but there are just too many wizrobes in those rooms. It's overkill. And it's gotten to the point where it isn't fun anymore. For me, the fun factor of a game is inversely proportional to the number of lives I've lost (as the number of lives I've lost increases, the fun factor decreases). And I've gotten killed in this quest A LOT. So this is where I throw my hands up and say "I've had enough of this". I didn't have this much trouble playing the original Zelda on the NES as a child back in the 80's. I might come back to this quest later. Much later.

But thank you for helping me as far as you did. I really do appreciate it.

At least you gave it a try. Level 5 is definitely one of the hardest levels.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to downplay the secrets on my quests, those combined with the fighting, which was very ridiculous in LR3.

The quest I am currently making now will have both those aspects in mind. Hence the name Quick Fix. It's meant to be quick, but challenging. Nothing near what I've done in the past. Secret difficulty maybe at LR1 or LR2 level.
Puzzle difficulty around the same.
I'm still looking for that happy medium.

So, this quest was supposed to be a DX version of the original, but like I said earlier in this thread, it seems that I may have gone a little overboard.

EDIT: It seems I may have fried CastChaos' brain! CC, I know you pride yourself on finishing a quest before you review it, but it's ok if you put this one down at this point. I truly understand.

Where is the boss in Level 7? I've got the boss key but can't find my way to the door in which to use it.

edit - OK found the room, but now I'm stuck in it... I killed the first wave of enemies (mummies) but now nothing's happening. Any hints? I;ve got the 2nd bracelet, book and flippers. The rocks which fell from above won't move. Not sure what to do next...

Thanks. Did that and got through three levels of enemies. Now the boss is in the middle but I can't reach him and none of the rocks move...

edit - just figured it out - On to Level 8 (after some scouting around in the overworld)!

I have been stuck for days between L4 and L5. Firstly, I have the wooden sword, boomer, red candle, whistle and wand. I can't find the boss in L4, and L5 I keep going round in circles. I did find a place near the start of the game (pushed a purple mushroom) that led to a sword but I couldn't pick it up. I also was able to find my way to guy in the mountain and attempted to clear under his floorboards but I just keep getting my butt kicked, after an entire day of trying, no luck. What the heck am I not getting here? I must have missed something major..... so please have pity on me and help me move on. Tks

Oh yes. You missed the white sword and blue ring. Near level 3, cross the bridge, go one screen east, then look down.

I recommend getting those first.

Okay Rocky... I feel rather foolish. I was in that cave earlier and then forgot all about it. So thanks, I got my gear, but I still can't get to the boss in L4. I must be missing a walk thru wall or something. I've got all the stuff, map, compass and boss key, but I can't seem to get over to the west side. Boy this is a very challenging quest, and I love those puzzles. Thanks again

Ergh...can't believe this is actually stumping me...missing one key in Level 2. Don't get what you mean about the "room to the left of the bombable passage" 'cause I checked the west walls of the room west of the dodongos and the room where you bomb to make the stairs show up. And something tells me I'm not gonna get lucky like CC did.

There is a room after the bombed passage that looks like this:
CODE
   ---
---
   ---

Bomb the bottom half.

peachstar; remember the long walk along the water? There is a crystal at the end of that you need to hit.
