It's story text. And the game mode listed it's listed as is ???.

The story of the original SSB was that all the characters were trophies that were taken out of a toybox, and forced to fight by Master Hand. Since Master Hand was the "final boss", you could say that your character rebelled. In SSBB, I think it was pretty much the same thing. Except your character was doomed to be turned back into a trophy, even if he won or something. (This is all pretty much taken from what happens in the game, btw. Neither of the games had much for story text. SSBB apparantly does.)

So. I explained the first half of the text. Therefore it makes some sense!

Now it makes a bit more sense. However, in SSB, they were more toys than trophies.

But anyways, it seems pretty consistent, considering at the end of the 1P modes in SSBM, you saw your character falling and then turning into a trophy...

Though I don't like the idea of a story mode if that's what they're thinking. Adventure Mode in SSBM was close to a story and was great because there was no story. It doesn't need a story. It's fun the way it is.

However, I never really thought of the characters as trophies come to life and fighting. I always thought it was a "Worlds Collide" kind of deal, with the actual characters.

Anyways, it still comes to mind whether which Link voice they'll be using, but it'll probably be TP Link since that's the character model.

Strangest update EVER! Pretty interesting stadium, though. I'm not surprised that this is under the ??? section.

Building upon what was just said, I think Mario and Kirby broke the "Smash" rules by shaking hands. Therefore, they've summoned a powerful foe. Meta Knight's Halberd in one of the pics may mean that Meta Knight was summoned to fight Mario and Kirby for breaking the rules. Unless, the foe we're seeing in the last pic is from Dream Land (Kirby's World), himself, and it may be the Dark Matter in another form. But, I'm just using my imagination, now. Even though Hal Laboratory is credited for the Smash series, I don't think they would put THAT much influence from another series.

EDIT: The Satellite: If this is a hint of a Story Mode, I wouldn't mind, so long as the other three modes from Melee return (in full form). I personally would like to see a "story mode" for each individual character, but I'm just doing more wishful thinking.

Well, Soul Calibur II had somewhat of a story mode (or at least a story ) for each character, including Link, so it may turn out well. I just like the normal modes.

I think this is a new character for Story Mode. Instead of using a pre-existing character, like Bowser, for the final fight, they decided to come up with an original. I think this time, if it even IS Story Mode, they'll have a bit more of an actual story behind it

I do find one thing irionic about SSBB: They released Deyoxs as one character to come from a Pokeball, and yet, The Birth Island event where you catch it hasn't even come to the United States yet.

Anyways, Blue, he'll probably be one that rarely pops out, but probably not as rare as Mew/Celebi were. Speaking of which, I wonder if they'll return...

I got two explanations for Mario & Kirby shaking hands...

1. They're just shaking hands to ensure a fair fight.
2. It's showing that they're teaming up against this new bad guy.

The idea of that dude being the "Master" makes sense. Although the purple mist around him reminds me of the Shadow Queen from PM2...
