Nice to see there is some interest! As for the two weeks / two weeks thing, on the one hand I agree it won't be necessary for everybody, but for some people who may be busy outside of ZC, it gives them a better chance to participate properly, in case the contest precisely takes place during two weeks where they have a lot to do.

Yes, I was thinking about that. I will leave applications open until next sunday (I'll edit the first post to point that out).
By the way, since PureZC is a family friendly place, in case one of the results is NSFW, then that result will be ignored and you will be given another one instead. So you don't have to worry about having to create a quest with "Porn" in the title, for example.

Count me in too. I don't think having the themes entirely randomized is a good idea though. I'd suggest that instead you generate a bunch of good ones and put them into several theme packs each with three themes for people to choose from. To be fair to everyone the three themes in each box should be something that could be used to make a somewhat serious quest, something that could be used to make a silly quest, and something that would probably require scripting to pull off.

I was thinking about something like that as well. I think having a rather restricted list to choose from is a good way to push people to think outside the box though, but I was indeed thinking of doing something like generating a bunch of titles, then sorting them by categories and then randomly attributing a title in each category to everybody, so that you are more or less assured to have something to work with depending on what tickles your fancy. So everybody will have a serious title (more or less - most titles have some camp value), a silly but exploitable title, and a very unlikely title.
As for the things people would be voting on, I thought of this so far, feel free to suggest more or suggest changes for these:
- Best overall quest
- Funniest quest
- Most original quest
- Quest that did the most with an unlikely title
- Quest that fits its title the most

Sounds like a pretty interesting idea to be honest. I generated a few myself. I don't really have too much time to really design another quest at this time, plus I have one I'm working on. I know a lot of people recommend only doing one project at a time, so yeah. Maybe I would give it a shot, but no guarantees.

That's cool, I'm not adding you to the contestants for now, but let me know if you have a change of heart.
In other news, I have definitely settled on generating titles and sorting them in categories, so that everybody has a chance to create something. The three titles each contestant will receive will call for something serious (to a point), silly, or pushing the boundaries of ZC, respectively. That makes it less random than just pushing the "generate" button three times in a row for everybody, but it will make the contest more fair and interesting. I will be disregarding NSFW titles, titles with other words that are just unappealing (like "boring" or "unremarkable" - it creates funny titles but I'm sure nobody wants to make a boring or unremarkable quest on purpose), and titles that resemble other titles too closely. Apart from that I'll keep it as random as possible; and of course, all of the selected titles will be attributed completely randomly. I'll probably use the tried and true method of writing titles on scraps of paper and picking them randomly in each category for every contestant.

Create a scripted mini-quest that chooses the title attributions randomly.
And then that quest will win the contest. Meta to the max.

I think, honestly, we should leave NSFW titles in. You don't have to make a quest about German Dungeon Porn if that's your title, you know? You could still have fun with it ![]()
For example, I just found 'Glowing Manlove Ultra' in there. Does that mean my quest has to do with Luminous semen? Not entirely.
