But, I'm only in the beginning. I have to get through most of the DW?

The return portal opens after you beat the final boss. The six main dungeons aren't actually mandatory (although you'll need at least some of their items), but beating them and getting the HCs and attack scrolls makes the last dungeon easier.

If I notice lots of people complaining, I might decide to have it open from the beginning.

If you want to start over with the Light world path, then yes.

Take note the the fairy by the portal warns you not to go into the Dark world in the first place.

I'm stuck trying to find the third temple in the Light World! I beat the forest and water dungeon, and have gotten several items, but I don't know what to do next! I'm assuming it has something to do with the symbol in the desert like area east of the first town, but I can't imagine what to do to it!

You may notice one symbol in the sand there looks like an Ocarina. To obtain said ocarina,

Does this quest have fluid quality (does the screen design get better as you play or does it stay continuously terrible)? If the screen design doesn't improve, then I think I'll give it a miss. If it does improve, WHY DIDN'T YOU GO BACK AND FIX ALL THE TERRIBLE EMPTY SCREENS IN THE EARLY GAME?! There's so many open corners I swear I'm going to either tear my eyes out to stop the pain or bleed to death... icon_aggravated.gif

Judasrising: The water bug should be fixed in the next update. I just fixed the dungeon door bug now.

Poke: Yes, the screen quality gets progressively better as you progress through the game. The reason those screens still stink is a) I am bad at making open areas and b) Re-making an area is a lot harder than making it in the first place. I'm planning to have those done when I release the bonus dungeon.
P.S. If you can suggest some specific ways to redesign the guilty screens (without the dramatization) I would be grateful

The first step is to close up some corners. Open corners are fine, but you should rarely have 3 and NEVER have 4.

Secondly, and this is probably you worst offense as far as screen design goes,

Don't make natural elements like rivers, mountains, and forest brush so straight. Rivers don't flow like that and bushes don't grow like that. Also it feels odd how the starting town is fenced off like that. IDK what exactly it is, possibly how the fencing is man-made and exactly on the edge of the screen as if the builders knew exactly what the screen boundaries were. icon_razz.gif

Okay, I'll try to close up the corners. Also, I have already been working on that river. As for the town, I guess it is pretty weird. I'll remove the inner fences.

Yes, if you complete the DW half of the game (by beating the final boss) you will be allowed to return to the LW.

Y'know the spot where you get the city pass so the guards will let you into the town? Walk north along the left side of the screen, above the tree border, and you can walk on a thin walkway along the dense forest that lets you go up and around to cross the river, bypassing the need for a raft. A lot of water in the early game seems to be walkable when it shouldn't.

So, in that cave to the west of the starting town, where you beat the gohma and light the torch to get 3 bombs, there is a screen to its south where you have to hookshot to get a chest. I take it I actually need to hookshot to it? Because I don't have the Ocarina, and I think it might be in there. I don't have a hookshot, and have no idea where to get one.

(EDIT: Farore's Wind disappears from the subscreen when in that dungeon. Odd.)

Finished the first dungeon, have the candle, boomerang, bottle, Farore's Wind, bow/arrows, power glove from the town, two medals, and that's about it. Any tips?

Walkable water: Fixed in next update. It's already impossible to cross the river into the forest in 1.0.1 (the latest), so that shouldn't be a problem.

Cave: Yes, you need the hookshot, which is in the Ocean Temple, accessed from N/E of the Triforce temple.

Farore's wind is disabled in caves because I assumed it would cause problems... as in fact it does. So it's still disabled.
