In the tree one, I remember a room with a stump that yopu either had to walk into or slash, and it made a bush blockinhg a path dissapear. Dunno if you're stuck at that, but I was stuck there for quite a while.

Also don't know how to finish 2 either.

Did you get the boss key in the #2 dungeon? You need to walk thru the walls here to trigger the inaccessible switch.

In Hookshire, did you see the statue to the right of start that you shoot with an arrow, here? Also, the next screen up has another magic crystal.

Thanks, that stump was the answer plus the hidden walkthru walls. Those are deviously tricky and almost unfair in a way to the player. Oh well, onto looking for level 4.

Heh--I just came off of a rocksfan13 quest where walkthru walls are integral to the game. Depends on how much pain you're willing to put up with...

I'm stuck in level 4. Am I not supposed to start at the entrance? I end up in a 5-rupee treasure room just north of a bunch of Aquamentuses every time I enter the dungeon. Level 4 seems a bit unpolished compared to the previous 3 dungeons. Furthermore, I'm going in circles in level 4. I have found nothing and can get nowhere. Any help would be nice.

You need to work your way to an on and off switch. When the level is off, you can see where all the hidden triggers are and can activate them. You have to memorize them, because when the level is ON, they won't be shown anymore.

but are you supposed to start in an interior room other than the entry room? Is that a bug, has it been fixed?

To get to the on/off room, from start go down, left, take the passageway, left, and up.

Ah, so it was intentional not to start at the room that leads outside?

That's right, and it's a harbinger for what's to come in that level...

Well, I'm going in circles in both off and on sections. I have compass, but no map and no keys anywhere. I'm so lost in level 4.

The best thing I can think to do would be to explore the Off section as much as possible, and then do the On. I'm not much farther up(I have a dungeon item)

well regardless, I still need a sword upgrade and I haven't got one yet. Where do I find that? I went into the tree stump into the dusty caves but can't move the blocks there yet or get much farther. Optional dungeon 4 and 5 aren't much better. Any help?

You'll find the keys in the "On" state. There's a sword upgrade in level 4. You might benefit from reading this thread:

I also found the elusive level 4 boss key in case anybody needs a hint later on.
