Okay... First off:
Ebola, EVERY screen is just a picture... Sure, the temple takes up most of the tilespace... But it's still a fully functional screen...
Now, I DO see the ''perspective'' problem... I've always known what you meant... But I don't think it ruins it in any way...
Now, LiH, I love that shot! Nothing more to say, that hasn't been said..
Billy... That is... Uck... Sorry, but wtf where you thinking? That screen does TWO things: 1: It makes absoloutley no sence... 2: It looks like**** ******** *** ** ** ** * ** **!
Thanks! icon_razz.gif

LostInHyrule: Very nice design. It almost got my vote.
Migokalle: Wow. I love it. Those tiles are amazing. And even with a screen like that, you made sure it wasn't perfectly straight. *Votes*
Billy Ronald: Looks good. But what is that white stuff.

Sorry Migo, but I'm really not that keen.
The castle and the trees look great, and the DoR tiles look good also, but together they just don't fit.
You're trying to make DoR something it isn't.

When you've finished it'll be great; but as of the moment you still have too much DoR in the screens for them to look quite right.
In my opinion anyways.

LiH's screen is awesome.
So what if he has a small mountain height issue?
That doesn't make it a bad screen...
It's not even a very bad misuse error, I think I prefer it visually to the fix you posted to be honest Pliss.

What bugged me more is that the corners of the mountains aren't layered onto the floor, so they all have little black corners.
Still though, pretty easy choice in my opinion.

Your screen's OK Billy, but it needs more happening.
It's a bit plain at the moment.

Well, the fix I posted is a way to make it right. I mean, the height on his didn't make sense at all, since it was the same height of a cliff it was attaching to 1 tile south. That means the bottom tile of the outcropping would be shoving itself into the ground (hence not being visible because of being "underground.") Since his bottom tile is visible it becomes it's own MC. Escher drawing.

And yes, it isn't a huge mistake, but these mountain mistakes have appeared in to many shots, and have been pointed out to many times for me to vote for it in a competition.

I vote for LostInHyrule.

Migo, I came close to voting you.

Billy Ronald, what were you thinking? If that is snow, where's the snowy grass?

No, some screens are more than just pictures. They're landscapes- you could almost crawl up the cliff face, swim through the murky water and charge into the dark cave in some shots. It all comes down to:
1) How well the screenshot as a whole fits together.
2) How well it's designed.
Yours, unfortunately, doesn't do terribly well in either. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly acceptable as an in-game screen, but as a SotW, it's just a way to show off some fancy temple tiles.

I can see that your fix is the correct way of doing it, it just looks a bit strange really.
I spose I don't make such a fuss about mountain errors cause mountains aren't really my strong point either, and I probably make quite a few myself =P

Wow... ahaha!
I must say... First Joe...
I'm trying to make DoR somthing it isn't?
Wtf... I'm MAKINg it somthing that I want it to be... Sure, you guys may not like the screendesign... but with the awesome temple splattered over almost all the space in the screen, there isn't much space left for designing...
But I respect your opinion... And with that, I go to class... Nah, I'm skipping it...

Heh, you put that twice in the same post icon_wink.gif

I don't think you quite understood me though.
The screen design is great (well, generally, this one's not so amazing, but that's OK cause it's a bit entrance).

You're trying to make DoR into something it's not (at present) by adding a lot of much more realistic, detailed graphics, and loosing the cartoony style (hence no small trees =P etc.).
At the moment, you still have too much of a mix of both styles, but when you've finished changing and improving and got rid of all the cartoony graphics (which I think you will, cause you'll keep looking at the screens and having to improve one little graphic or whatever until it's all changed I'm sure), then you'll have something DoR isn't.
It'll look great though.

Aside from that, the perspective is a bit off in this shot though =P

I recommended it to him actually. He always recommends it to me. If he wins this week he should dedicate this SotW to me. icon_deformed.gif

Migokalle...that has to be the best screen I have ever seen...The perspective on it makes it look like a surreal painting. I bid 5,000 zc monies.

*hits joe123 with a giant mallet*

Also, not enough captions this week guys. Man, I take a week off and look what happens to the captions. ...I really didn't intend that to rhyme.
