Looks very nice to me. Yes, it's a basic pure shot done well. Not risky, but nothing for me to really criticize.
CastChaos - 6/10
Good detail applied to the ground and other components, but despite that, I wouldn't go as far as to say that I am drooling over it.
Nuvo - 7/10
While the shot overall is very good, especially with the cliffs and the vegetation, I am not really liking that kind of bridge mixed in with the rest of it. It just doesn't feel right to me. I am also confused by the left end of it. I can see the shadow that the bridge casts on the ground directly below it, which I like the thought of, but I wonder if there is a better color for that. I guess you'll have to mess around with it more. I am not sure if it's possible to extend that shadow further to the left and the right over the lower ledges, but it would be the coolest thing if you could. I am liking most of the detail. Nice job.
My vote goes to Nuvo. While I see more mistakes in his among the two, the best parts are done better and are more interesting in my eyes. It certainly seems more risky and creative to me.

My vote does go to Link though, as it's the only one I can't point out something that makes me want to kill a cat with mind bullets. The darkside of the mountains on Nuvos shot just overpower it and contrast greatly with the plain grass. Perhaps one extra shade of dark grey, or even a different dark color close enough to pass off as it would make it look much better. Cast, I think it's just the balance of the shot, with everything happening on the right side, and in the upper part. The bottom corner just seems to empty. Good gameplay shot though.

I'm also astounded that Link75 gets more vote than me, but I don't know how to express it without directly saying, even though I was thinking about it for half a hour or so. Not "that" astounded though. For multiple reasons.
I'm a bit surprised as well, but to be honest, I do like the layout of my screen more than the other two, though I don't know if I've actually vote for mine. It is a basic pure shot!
What bothers me about your shot is the bottom right area, how the cliff is at the border of the screen. The water looks nice, but I'd lower is a tile if that area is supposed to be dry. I can't say anything else besides that, unless of course I played through the area.
Nuvo, I may have voted for your mountain layout. Out of the three of us, yours looks the most natural. Some more textured grass would work well with them, I think.
I love the design.
My goal as usual. Very glad to receive comments on my design.
Now, I wait.

Also, I didn't expect people won't realize that it's water... I was so happy when I learned true shading and used it to craft that fish there...
Furthermore, why wouldn't water be there? It was Lake Hyila and all the water couldn't evaporate... yet.
Moreover, I'm not said about some undetailed parts, since this is a wasteland... if there weren't waterly and swampy spots, I would have called it a desert...

And Cast Chaos, I don't really like the look of that water: It's too pallid and plain. If you haven't used all your layers, maybe you should look into adding some of those wavy white lines over the water to make it look like its moving. Do you know what I mean? It's a technique most transparent water makers use.

Castchaos: I certainly like this shot. Doesn't look like a inverted world, but it is a nice screen. *votes*
Link75: Indeed very basic.

As for DoR mountains... They are supporting the following layout: The south facing wall is twice as high as the side facing ones and the north facing is half as big as the side facing ones. I already converted some mountains for this mentality, but in fact, most times I'd prefer some other alignment, mostly the "all sides are one tile" alignment.
You're referring to the bottom right corner? Really I think you should leak that lake over to the next screen down. It may look nicer without the mountains bordering the edge of the screen.
Also, I didn't expect people won't realize that it's water... I was so happy when I learned true shading and used it to craft that fish there...
I didn't notice at first, though if it were animated I'd be obvious.
Furthermore, why wouldn't water be there? It was Lake Hyila and all the water couldn't evaporate... yet.
I don't know if you're replying to me or not, but if you were... I just said that the water should be lower in that bottom right corner. The other is a puddle. But never mind, it looks fine the way it is.
Moreover, I'm not said about some undetailed parts, since this is a wasteland... if there weren't waterly and swampy spots, I would have called it a desert...
Yeah... I guess you were replying to others...
Well, seeing as already, my shots aren't cuttin it anymore, I'm gonna totally do something to butcher the competition next week.

Yes, I'd love to see something new from you.
