Yeah, they were nice, but I'm talking HOOKshot. It's got a friggin' hook! Great ranged weapon!

Somehow, I don't remember Spider-Man having an influence on Zelda.

I'd probably have to go with....
Shotgun: (Doom, Doom II, Marathon, Halo: Combat Evolved) I mean, come on. When you got this gun in any of those games, you were saying to yourself, "Good God. It's time to cap some zombies/Pfor/Floood." In Doom and Doom II, you could get this in the first level, and you'd probably end up using it for the rest of the game. That's how good it was. In Hala: Combat Evolved, you got this in The Flood, and it instantly became the end-all be-all Flood-killing machine. If Link had a shotgun, maybe he wouldn't have had to go through 13 dungeons in LttP.

*slaps face*
How could I even FORGET Metroid?
Grapple Beam, then.

5. Blue Spiky Shell (Mario Kart series) - homes in on the lead player (and, in Double Dash, makes a powerful explosion, as well). It owns so bad in Double Dash, if you're lucky, you can probably catch 2 or 3 other racers in the explosion!
I HATE the blue spikey shell so much. It's the most ridiculous item in any game ever. Home in on the player in front and just destroy them, giving them no chance at all to avoid it or anything. Just unfair - no skill at all. Especially considering I'm usually first
The water jet in Super Mario Sunshine.
The C-stick smash moves in Smash Bros Melee! So much less effort than the normal ones.

Chaos Emeralds
Well... for Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic and Knuckles.
After that, not being able to use the Chaos Emeralds until the last level SUCKS ARSE!
Best part of Sonic 2: Getting all the Chaos Emeralds in Emerald Hill Zone

Agreed! In any shooting game, I almost always favour the shotgun. What's not to like about it? Extremely Powerful, and almost impossible to miss with.
