Went back to playing Hyrule Warriors. I got to the part where Link gets the Master Sword. While the combat does not require strategy, knowing what bases to capture and defend does. Most of my Game Overs come from enemies capturing critical bases more than actually dying. Still haven't touched that other mode with that Classic Z1 map. That's probably gonna be interesting.

I beat the first dungeon in Persona Q. The first dungeon boss was challenging. It was a close fight. Now I have the Persona 3 cast on my team. So far, I still say that this game is much easier than the Etrian games. The only times my characters die is through surprise encounters.

What happens when the only place available to you to kill Greater Demons is on an island with a bunch of monks that REFUSE to let you take ANY weapons or armor to their island? Why, you bring the materials to make your equipment and once you're in the dungeon that removes your ability to pray (or saps almost all of your Prayer Points), you're free to make all of your gear. Good way to get around the ban and best of all, it's not even a bug. It's just playing smart. However, unless you have a very high Crafting and Fletching level, this is very inefficient. Hell, where I stood was pretty awful, trying to use a low tier bow and armor. My only salvation was my fairly high Ranged level. Anyway, below is the value of the valuable stuff:

----Alchable Spoils---
Rune Full Helm x3 (21,120gp each)
Adamant Platelegs x1 (3,840gp)
Mithril Kiteshield x3 (one for keeping, 1,326gp each)
Steel 2-Handed Sword x9 (600gp each)

Arrows Consumed: 1,930 (the only cost I had comes from buying feathers to make them in the first place)

Ignoring the cost of Nature Runes and counting the 17,724gp in pure cash I picked up, I used up 1,930 Steel Arrows I made myself to make 92,976gp. Pretty worthwhile I must say. Not to mention I'm almost 59 Ranged and almost up to my milestone of 60. How am I training Ranged so much with really crappy equipment? I'm using a level 30 weapon with mostly level 40 armor (well for the Greater Demon hunting, level 20 since that was the highest I could personally make). Any non-Ironman would be going "LMFAO y u no using MSB (Magic Shortbow) and Blue D'hide noob!?" right now. I don't feel like grinding 3 months just to make my next tier of armor. I don't mind fletching so I can make my next tier of bow up, though, mostly because I'm close to the requirement.

So why am I using Ranged mostly if it's a class I'm severely under-equipped playing as? I don't get it. Like with melee, I have nearly perfect gear for my level yet my melee stats are crap (41 Attack, 40 Strength, 40 Defense compared to 58 Ranged and 53 Magic). That and Magic I'm even LESS equipped yet it's been my go to choice for killing quest bosses, mostly due to how spells work. See, spells do set maximum damage, making Magic overpowered early game when your character is low-leveled and it's very accurate. You can do quests intended for level 60-70 players with a mere level 10-15 or so character simply because you're using Magic. Late game, it's pretty much melee or bust, since melee hits VERY hard and is almost always the best setup for general monster killing and bossing. Then again, high Magic levels means you resist magic more often yourself and the very high levels have extremely good spells.

Attempting Dragon Age: Origins for the millionth time. I'm committed to beating it this time. Took me 2 and a half hours to settle on a character and origin story, so I'm off to a rip-roaring start.

Made it another floor deeper (now on 4th floor) in the the 3rd dungeon of persona Q. Man It took a super long time but I made it the end of the 4th floor after a ton of crap happened. And when I decided to quit somehow my map data is not able to be found or saved... I guess its all one every bit of the data is corrupted :(

My game save is fine just no maps now :| I quite bummed out about it really... soo much mapping work GONE LIKE THAT...D:

An SD Card is required to save map data. Hopefully your SD card is not corrupted.

Right now, I'm alternating between three games:

Kingdom Hearts II - Final Mix (PS2 with English patch)

Batman: Arkham Origins

Skyrim

KHIIFM is right on the World Map after finishing the Coliseum. (Those ghost Heartless are absolute hell on Critical Mode with 2-Hit Kill attacks. Appropriate, given the location)

Arkham Origins is just after the place where you get the electrical jammer tool.

Skyrim has me at Riften after sneaking through the embassy. Funny enough, I gave my typical gear to the guy who sneaks it in, went to go to the embassy, then got attacked by a dragon at the stables while stuck with crappy equipment that I only had because I hadn't sold it yet.

Once I get at least one of these games finished, I've got a downloaded client for Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, and somebody on another site that I go on just got a private server set up for us to play on. I've also got a few Castlevania games to finish before I can play the ones I picked up during the last Steam Sale, on top of Arkham Origins Blackgate to go through.

I went back and replayed Mega Man 3 and I can say one thing: It is not as good as I remembered it to be, though it is still solid.

While it is the most challenging of the classic series that manages to stay mostly fair (well, from what I've played. I haven't played anything past 6 yet) and most of the Robot Master stages were a major step up from 2, the Doc Robot stages were a major letdown and significantly dragged the score down. Between the Rush Jet segment that comes immediately after the Doc Robot Air Man fight in Needle Man's stage that is comparable to the Boobeam Trap in terms of the "If you die, it is game over regardless of how many lives you have" department, annoying grinding segments, terrible Doc Robot fights (I am looking at you, Quick Man and Air Man), multiple places where you could get permstuck (applies to not only the Doc Robot stages) and the general lazy edits of some of the stages used for Doc Robot makes for a very disappointing and badly polished segment of the game. Fortunately, the game picks up once you get into Wily Fortress still not without a few hitches along the way.

That said, the game is still much better than 2 because that is far worse in terms of unfair difficulty and is unbalanced in general. At least that aforementioned Rush Jet segment gives you a fair chance to complete it the first time around.

Current order: 4 > 6 > 3 = 5 > 1 > 2

yeah the doctor robot stages are fucked, everything else is pretty cool though. My main issue with the Doctor Robots is that none of their stages contain E Tanks.

I managed to get all the endings in Etrian Odyssey III. Pushing through the 6th stratum now, albeit slowly. For post-game quests, I've come close to beating Alarune, but my damage output is juuuust shy of being able to win before things get a bit messy. The other two, not so much. Lacking good elemental damage has finally come to bite me in the ass. (My two damage dealers are a Gladiator/Arbalist and Arbalist/Gladiator, both built for raw damage with Charge-Blade Rave and Charge-Front Mortar-Double Action, respectively.) Though I may just power through anyway by finding ways either around physical defense or just by lowering it.

Full team right now is

Gladiator/Arbalist - Subbed Arbalist for Proper Form so that Blade Rave would actually freaking hit more than it doesn't. Got Charge in there as well.

Hoplite/Ninja - Dual line guard is awesome. Plus, if the boss is heavy on elemental damage I can just use two different anti spells.

Arbalist/Gladiator - Front Mortar+Charge+Double Action. If I can, Berserker's Vow as well.

Monk/Prince - Standard healing stuff. Also has Protect Order which is beyond amazing. (It's not maxed out yet but I'm getting well over 150+ HP a round with it up.)

Princess/Zodiac - Subbed Zodiac for Dark Ether, as once buffs are in place, she isn't doing too much. Might as well make sure the front like can use their powerful skills as much as possible, right? :P

On the subject of 6th stratum. Floor 22...Uuuuughhhhh... I figured the 'no map' rooms from 5th stratum would be back. But not like this. ._. I can imagine it'll only get worse from here. >_<

On the positive side, the music in that stratum is possibly my favorite stratum song in the series. ._.

I've also been playing Guild Wars 2 with some friends. Recently hit level 10 playing a human engineer. Focusing on rifles as they seem like a loooot of fun. :)

Not true. The Needle Man stage has one. I can't recall off the top of my head if the others do, maybe they don't, but that one guaranteed has one. As far as the stages themselves, I don't think they're that lazy, there's one of them, maybe Spark Man's that felt too similar to its original form, but I thought the rest had enough distinct changes to not feel repetitive. Also I wouldn't say the Rush Jet segment in Needle Man's Doc Robot version is Boobeam-tier, since it's a lot easier to complete and you should at least have one E-tank at that part (unless you're really terrible at the game I guess), but I do understand the frustration behind the design. Here's a tip that helps: Jump constantly while on Rush Jet, it uses up less energy that way. They fixed this in 4 though. :(

Well that's 1 of 4 stages, beat it first and then you will have no E Tank farming for the other locations.
