But no, there's no way that's going to ruin the show for me. I liked it without having to spot Derpy; Derpy is just a bonus.

In the end I think Derpy, as a product of the fandom, should have remained within the fandom. And I know I'm not alone on this one.
But now Derpy's been retroactively underped. It's made the fan-version (and background version)...awkwardly contradicting.

She's only underped in the one episode, though. It's not like she's anti-derp through the entire series.
And only in the DVD version of said episode. To be honest, other than the possibilty that she will never again be named (or worse, given a different name), I'm completely fine with this whole thing. The new voice is much closer to what I'm sure everyone had in mind before the episode originally aired, and one of the animators has confirmed that she will continue to be derp-eyed in upcoming episodes.

You've got that backwards. She remains derped in the DVD version (since they were already printed when they changed it), and everywhere else she's un-derped.
Oh. Coulda sworn the underped eyes were only in the DVD version. Ah well, at any rate, it doesn't really matter much, IIRC, it was only a couple of shots that had the normal eyes, and following episodes will still have Derpy as her usual self.

No no no no no. Its the iTunes version that has the un-derped eyes. That's how we have video of it. (Obviously, if it was only on the DVDs, Sethisto would be the only one to have seen it, and by disributing the video he would compromise his good reputation with Hasbro and they'd stop sending him free stuff). The DVDs were printed before the episode even aired, so they would never have had the chance to un-derp them.

Ah, right, of course. I really need to stop being so much of an idiot.

I can't f***ing wait for the reply.
EDIT: Updated with response. Apparently she doesn't know of the show, but that's okay.
