Messing about with some new tiles and stuff. I added Asaya in post - does she fit okay? Do you feel the tiles mesh okay?

Everything looks great. Though it could you some more colours, if it is an ordinary field I guess those are OK.

Those bottom corners of the mountains always annoy me. You should edit them to match the ground they're on.

I do agree very much with this opinion. Although leaving them as-is bestows the screenshots with the feeling of legitimacy, being true to the Gameboy style, I find that it's really more diligent to keep the graphics as reasonable as possible, relative to what you could do. They just feel like an oversight. I mean it's only two or so more combos. icon_shrug.gif

Either the sprites and trees don't fit or the grass, dirt and mountains don't fit very well. It's like two styles that don't compliment each other very well put together.

Link explores the wilderness of Lavener Woods, the forest floor is covered in flora and the entire forest is almost flooded in darkness.

Just playing around with Pure Remembrance.

The shadowing looks pretty weird, but other than that I think it's great forest shot. The ground detail is a bit minimal but that's okay.

I love this screenshot Shane. Normally, I dispise Pure. However, you've managed to create a masterpiece. The screen flow is very well, balancing out on all sides. The color contrasts blend excellently with the shade. Marvelous shot!

The dirt doesn't fit too well. The tree stands out too much. Personally, I liked the old tiles as a whole more.

I think the tiles work together, but the palette needs to be overhauled. I'd also suggest doing something a little more intricate with the mountains, since those tiles weren't really designed for flat walls.

E.g.:

Thanks to everyone for the input. icon_smile.gif

I'll definitely keep in mind what you say about the mountains, NoeL. You're the one who made 'em, after all. icon_razz.gif

As for the rest, I'm still messing around with various tiles. The one thing I won't budge on is the mountain choice - I really like those. :3 I'll see what can I do. icon_smile.gif

Thank you. I'm still getting used to this tile combination, so these are pretty much test screens at this point. I'd like to make a full dungeon with this combination, I think I can pull it off.

Color me impressed. I think those screens look fantastic. icon_thumbsup.gif There's nothing much to complain about those screens. I especially like the 2nd shot with the fountain.
