After finishing Bioshock, I went to the next game on my Steam Library that I haven't played yet: Skyrim. Well...

First thing is, I've only played RPGs where you're encouraged to loot everything in sight. As a result, before finishing the tutorial area, I was overloaded and had to start dumping off excess stuff. Cue my little brother laughing hysterically when he saw a massive pile of wooden bowls, wooden ladles, tankards, clothing, shoes, gloves, baskets, buckets, cast-iron skillets of various sizes, brooms, and other various trash come exploding out of my character like the world's most environmentally-unfriendly bomb.

Of course, that wasn't enough to kill old habits, and I started excusing my continual stripping of corpses as simply doing it on principle. He then lost it entirely all over again after I explained that the people who wanted me executed, if they were still looking for me after the dragon attack, would probably catch up to me very easily by following the bloody trail of naked people.

Let's see... Shortly after that, I made it to the first town. Still in a looting state of mind, I came across a chicken on the road, and killed it for meat. I then noticed a message in the corner of the screen stating that there was now a 40 Gold bounty on my head. I made a mental note to be more careful of what I did. Later, after spending a bit of time wandering around outside of town, I came back in the middle of the night to find four people all at once trying to brutally murder me for what I assume was for murdering the chicken earlier. I barely scraped through, and immediately proceeded to strip down the four would-be killers to their underwear like every other person I've come across. Once again, Alex was in hysterics for this, especially after seeing a random woman wander into town and coming across their looted corpses. I don't know if her shock was from seeing the dead bodies, or the fact that they had been stripped clean of every stitch on them.

I went back to my original goal of doing the store-owner's quest and getting his golden dragon claw back from thieves on the mountain. I finally found a path up said mountain, and was killed by a group of necromancers who managed to freeze me to death. Of course, considering the state all the local corpses were in by then, I suppose there would have been more humiliating ways to go.

I find cold damage quite debilitating in the game, so I play as a Nord.

Got some Tales of Hearts R to play tonight. Can't wait to post some gameplay videos of this.

Also, Valkyria Chronicles just came out on PC today. One of my favorite RPGs from last gen. I highly recommend that game if you like Fire Emblem with 3rd person shooter elements. I feel so tempted to get that game if I didn't already own it on PS3.

Climbing the ladder in the Iron Man rankings for Fishing on Old School Runescape. Once I've used up the remaining 1.3k or so feathers, I should be 60 Fishing and about the mid 60s for Cooking. Funny enough, it's easier to get higher rankings in Cooking than Fishing. Guess a lot of Iron Man accounts are powertraining their Fishing where I'm keeping everything I catch to train Cooking.

Anyway, significant facts about my character according to the rankings:

-I am rank 2,456 out of 10,669 Iron Men/Women listed as of November 12, 2014 at 12:42am

-My total XP is 608,087

-My Fishing rank is 670 (level 57 at 204,070 XP)

Another thing scary is that once I've cooked all of my catches, I'll be in the top 350ish for Cooking. Even funnier still, my Iron Man has a higher Fishing level than my primary character. Then again, I'll NEVER run out of food at this rate since the aftermath will be around 4,500 cooked Trout and Salmon combined. So basically, my plan is to cook ALL Trout first using the range in Lumbridge. I should get to 55 Cooking, which is the minimum level to never burn Salmon there (supposedly). Regardless, someone is going to be one well-stocked noob that is stuck with his massive stockpile of fish because he isn't allowed to trade them (although I could sell them to a store for minimum cash or drop them for someone to randomly pick up).

Lastly, I love how the Iron Man guy for regular Iron Man accounts is named Adam. It's perfect; my "master" and I have the same name!

In other news, did a couple of Easy Clue Scrolls today. In doing so, I finally have a full set of H.A.M (Humans Against Monsters) Robes, so I can finally go without a 90% chance of being caught. The first one got me a Bronze Platebody (g), a reward exclusive to that level of Clue Scroll. Can't sell it to anybody, but it sure is pretty to look at. The second one I did today...well, let's just say this. I've been holding out on purchasing a Studded Leather Body and Staff of Air until later on. Guess what I got as a reward from the Clue Scroll? Those two items in addition to a small amount of runes. Ask and you shall receive, I guess. Kind of funny that my main melee armor is something designed for rangers, NOT melee combat. Unless of course I decide to attack magic using enemies. I have over 111,000gp, yet I'm too cheap to buy myself a set of appropriate armor that would cost me about 9,300gp to buy a full set without a shield. Honestly, I'm holding out for the level 40 armor, which is REALLY going to suck for cost. Here it is:

Rune Chainbody / Platebody = 47,500gp or 84,500gp (ouch!)

Rune Platelegs / Plateskirt = 60,800gp (64,000gp in Champion's Guild)

Rune Med/Full Helm = lol go kill stuff for it noob

Rune Square/Kite Shield = see above

Umm, yeah. That's going to cost a pretty penny. May have to spend a couple days grinding up cash because even later, I'm going to have to get 100,000gp pulled together for a Dragon Scimitar and another 200,000gp for a Dragon Battleaxe (for its massive Strength boosting special attack). Lastly, when and if I complete that one quest, I'll need 130,000gp to buy the Barrows Gloves, which are the game's strongest gloves (or stick to the 6,500gp Rune Gloves). The only disappointing thing is that once I have those purchases made, money becomes nearly useless, save for buying replacements in case I die. I guess I could try for a long shot and try to get the uber rare Dragon Sq Shield half to drop and buy the other half for 750,000gp or have the luck of 10 devils and get a Draconic Visage and pay 1,250,000gp to make the Dragonfire Shield, which WILL be a trophy item to get. Only seven monsters in the entire game drop it, and the drop rate is a very depressing 1 in 10,000. At that point, I think it would be more for bragging rights than anything.

Either I'm insane, have no life, am completely bored or all of the above. I don't know which.

Brushed the proverbial dust off my DOSBox today to play some original Rogue.

I can't believe they ripped off Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

After a rather glitchy first time, I went and found the Unofficial Bugfix Patch for Skyrim. Took a bit to learn how to add in mods, then threw in some other ones in the mix. Nothing that changes the gameplay, though. Since this is my first time ever playing Skyrim, I stuck to just bugfixes, cosmetic changes, and a few UI tweaks to make it more PC friendly.

One mod that I added was a lighting upgrade. Made caves and dungeons much darker. I ended up having to return to the store where you start the Golden Claw sidequest and buy a fire spell. Used it as a torch to light up the hallways of the dungeon that corresponds to that sidequest, just so I could see. I didn't try equipping a torch, but only because I was already having a hard time with both hands full of equipment. I don't think I would have been able to finish it with a torch taking up a hand.

Came back to town, gave back the claw, and realized that in gratitude, I was allowed to take all the non-equipment supplies from the store for free. I even went and got myself a follower so that I could completely loot both buildings and sell all the useless junk such as baskets and cast iron pots back to the store for a bit of spending money.

Also realized that I had a bounty for some reason. No idea what I did, but the game actually gave me the option to kill the guard that I met over a 5 gold bounty. I just paid it off, but I liked that the game was more than willing to have me kill a man over a nickel.

By the way, I have a quick question for anybody else who's played this game. I've seen mods that change the appearance of all the NPC characters, but I'm not sure what kinds of mods I'm supposed to be looking for. Do the mods that give you more options to customize your character also affect NPCs, or am I looking for something else? For such a great-looking game, the people in this look really bad. I swear, some of them don't even look like people, and I'm not talking about the elves or animal/lizard characters.

Well guys, here's the damage on my Iron Man account after two weeks of playing:

i75oa6suu7775rofg.jpg

My biggest improvement skill-wise is going from a measly 17 Cooking up to 63 Cooking and 21 Fishing all the way up to 60 Fishing. Other than that, I made a few upgrades and I'm being really stingy with my money, despite having way more than enough at this point. For instance, I'm wearing Black armor instead of Mithril since Mithril is barely an improvement other than slightly lighter weight. Also, I upgraded to a Rune Sword so I actually have a decent melee weapon. I could camp Fire Giants for a Rune Scimitar, but no thanks to that. Besides, I have to get Fletching (the skill with a pair of arrows) and Woodcutting (the tree) up to 65 and 60 respectively before I can train Ranged efficiently anyway, since a Yew Shortbow has 18 more accuracy than its Maple counterpart. That's a pretty big upgrade mind you.

I think starting tomorrow and throughout next week, my goal is going to be trying to get up to Adamant Gloves from the Recipe for Disaster quest chain. There is only ONE hard part about it, and that's the boss I have to fight in one of the required quests. See, I have to kill him with a specific sword, but the sword is pathetically inaccurate and he's pretty strong. Still, I have okay enough Defence to not have to worry about it, and if that's an issue, I can always do the Holy Grail quest for a massive jump in Defence. If I can get through that, then I can rest easy until I start doing quests with hard bosses that are going to require me to have a high enough Prayer (4-pointed star) to use the abilities to completely nullify magic, ranged or melee damage.

I got a lot on my plate right now, lol.

Let's see, on WiiU, I'm playing through Hyrule Warriors, Sonic Lost World, and Super Mario 3D World. I'm nearly done with SM3DW, and I'm also nearly done with Hyrule Warrior's Legend Mode. I've gotten to world 4 in Sonic. Other than that, I'm also playing Sonic Adventure 2 on Steam, and Minish Cap on WiiU as well lol.

Best of luck. CPUs will try to cheat their way through the entire game with flipping heads on anything requiring a coin flip. It becomes ridiculous when a Lickitung can do 120 damage due to always getting a paralysis by flipping heads.

Anyway, as for me, I finished EO4's main story and moved on to it's postgame Maze, Hall of Darkness. It's definitely a bit creepier than Claret Hollows and less cheap in terms of enemies, but I've only gotten through the first floor. Probably still got some nasty stuff down there still. Out of Untold and this game, I think I like Untold slightly more, even though this game has had less cheap moments.

I will say the final boss was a bit on the ridiculous side. Having to grind 10 Amritas (Which is 30 Waterlily Leaves, which are rare from a take? point on a specific floor, plus 8,000 en each) is really stupid. The game has a lot of issues with TP recovering items. And Untold on the otherhand was far too generous with it's TP recovery, so I guess no game has gotten it right yet.

Apart from that I do like the game a bit, probably end up near the same rating as Untold if I had to rate it. Next step is grinding levels and beating the dragons to raise the level cap.

I traded my PS3 version of GTA V to get half off on the PS4 version. I can't wait to play this game when I have the chance.

I also got Pokemon Puzzle Challenge on 3DS VC. Boy those memories are kicking in! I remember unlocking all the Pokemon except Sentret :(.

M0ar Iron Man goodness. Of the active normal Iron Men on Old School Runescape, I am rank 1,819 out of 11,466, or in the 84th percentile. Been doing a lot of work, but my main goal right now is making an Amulet of Strength, which will REALLY help me train melee. However, the requirements are my biggest obstacle; 50 Crafting to make a Ruby Amulet and 49 Magic to enchant it. I'm at 38 Magic and 44 Crafting, so I'm not too awfully far away, but it'll take a good day or two of constant playing to get both to the required levels. Having an extra 10 Strength will be VERY huge as going off rankings as they are at the time of posting, without boosting Crafting, only 738 people can make Ruby Amulets, and I'm assuming most of those are mid-high leveled players. Going by the unboosted Magic requirement, there are 2,366 Iron Men able to enchant Ruby jewelry and with a +2 boost, that number goes up to 2,606 people.

Oh, I mention I'm back to playing Daggerfall? That game has so many bugs it's not funny. It's a good game and I strongly recommend any Elder Scrolls fan to get DOSBox and get the game off the official site (it's a free download). It DOES have a ridiculously steep learning curve; I expect any first timer to die at least dozen times in the first dungeon and possibly get lost for at least an hour or two. For a game made in 1996 though, it's remarkable; with all the locations available, it makes Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim combined look tiny, although to be honest, almost all of the towns are just repeats with different names, shop names and qualities. One suggestion for anyone trying it; SAVE OFTEN! As a kid owning the original disc, my version of it wasn't the most stable and was notorious for crashing and having corrupted save files (trying to open them would crash the game). Even making a backup save never worked; it always seemed to know what it was linked to. The more patched versions are stable and should seldom, if ever, crash.
