I'm also on the Rebirth boat. Haven't played it too much, but I really enjoy what I have played so far!
On another note - finally took down the first stratum in EO III. Took me awhile because I got distracted by other games. >_> Narmer wasn't too bad, though Earthquake is a game-ender. >_> The victory was extremely close though because the RNG just hated me for some reason. >_<
Some context - Narmer can dive under the water during the battle, leaving 6 'targets' behind. 5 of them are fake while 1 is real and will cause Narmer to pop back out if hit. You only have 5 party members so having each attack a different target leaves you with good odds, but still a chance to screw up. I had my Gladiator learn Rampage for this fight, which is a special that attacks all targets just so I'd always hit the real target and get the boss above water again as soon as possible. Later in the fight, if Narmer is under the water by the time it acts, it'll use Earthquake, dealing out 100+ damage to the front row and...I don't remember how much to the back. >_> My party was only barely above 100 HP by this fight.
During the end of the fight (it had a tiny sliver of health left.) it dove under the water. Figuring everything would be fine, I just used Rampage and had everyone else attack. Rampage goes off and I see it miss all the targets. The odd chance I had of missing my attack had to be when it mattered most, of course. XD Earthquake goes off, annihilating my front row. (Gladiator, Hoplite and Arbalist) It also dealt heavy damage to my back row. (Monk, Princess) One spiteful roll on the RNG's part could have ended things. Desperate, the monk revives the gladiator, somehow not dying that round. Next turn comes around, my gladiator hits for something like 38 damage, taking Narmer down at last. I don't think I've had a closer call than that aside from my run-in with the bonus boss of EO II where had the boss not gone down the turn it did, it would have been a game over. >_> Feels great every time though. x3
Had Rampage actually hit, things would have held together fine. XD
With that though, I'm progressing through 2nd stratum somewhat smoothly. Common enemies are causing small issues, but nothing I can't handle without a little thought.

I started playing Golden Sun Dark Dawn this week. I missed out on this sequel to the GBA ones.
Don't play the DS game, just don't. It is not good.

Yoshi's New Island
I finally finished that game last night, and what a nightmare it was. ![]()
Interestingly, I beat it two days ago, but...

So easy that it's not good.

Update on my Iron Man account on Old School Runescape. After one full week, this is the damage:

My IGN is edited out for security reasons. This is what a week of playing a Standard Iron Man account has accomplished. As I said before, it's the same as playing normal Runescape, only you're not allowed to trade with others for any reason. For the two quests that require it, you have to use the item on the other person or have the item used on you to get the quest items. Ironman Armor worn for proof of Iron Man status.

It seems a little cheesy... And very much easier so far.

I played the game and thought it was solid. Easier, but solid. .-.

Hopefully not Hardcore. I just loooooooove seeing those death messages pop up in the normal game, though I did see a hardcore account amass 17xx total last night(not dead, just passed by)

The RS3 version of it is a regular character. Just for the record, the Old School version is a normal Iron Man. No way I'd have the patience to do an Ultimate Iron Man for OSRS or a Hardcore for RS3, mostly knowing being perma-killed is one DDoS attack away at all times and my inventory management skills are trash. That's pretty insane to get 1700 total on such a restricted account. Then again, 1700 now is like reaching 1000 total in Old School.
Basically, the no-trade rule for Iron Man is just as much my element as Rupee grinding is for you in ZC quetss. I rarely trade anyway, so the only real challenge is making money. However, I got that solved; I fletch Willow Longbows (eventually Maple Shorts/Longs) and sell them 10 at a time to Lowe's archery store in Varrock for about 1.6k, hop worlds, rinse and repeat. The reason is that in OSRS, the buying price from NPCs goes down the higher the stock is. Going to suck trying to chop Maples with a Black Axe, and I'm not willing to do Fairytale I and start II yet, since I'm trying to focus on non-combat skills, namely getting an Amulet of Strength before I even think about serious melee training.

I'm doing parkour in Super Mario Sunshine. I'm starting to be a total beast with the turbo novel.
Could you please speak about doing parkour in Sunshine? I know the impulse to do it, as Mario has walljumping and lotsa walls and streets in the game, and I have found myself doing parkour-like actions in short, random moments, but I still want to hear the details and feelings. Also I'm not sure what do you mean about "turbo novel".

Trying to finish Conception 2. It did get a little better now that I'm at the point where it gets challenging.

I listen to music and at the same time do the most technical spontaneous movements I can do while trying to match the tempo of the music. Usually listen to rap. I use the turbo nozzle because it's the fastest. Turbo nozzling around through the streets is insane. Also, spin jumps out of turbo nozzle is essential. I didn't even know you could do it until I did by accident one time. It has a sense of adrenaline rush as the base sets fire to the... Nah.

No lifed Fishing on OSRS today. Went from a mere 22 up to level 49 and brought Cooking up from 24 to 46 cooking purely Trout I caught. When I got to 49 Fishing, I had caught 1,011 Trout and 521 Salmon. Cooking all of the Trout from 24 got me a good way towards 47. Turns out the Wiki is not accurate either. According to it, the 100% success rate level is 50. However, from level 44 Cooking using the range at Lumbridge which has a lower chance of burning food, I haven't burnt a single Trout. Throughout this time, I burnt 89 of those Trout prior to 44. I'm saving the Salmon for after I use up the rest of my feathers; I'm going to stick with what has 100% success rate. Once I'm around 55 Cooking, I should be able to cook Salmon with little, if any, chance of burning. For the record, any failure means no experience gain, so I think it's pretty clear why I'm saving the higher leveled fish for until my chance of burning them is low.
So yeah, thanks to 3-4 hours of no lifing, I am now more than prepared to train combat and knock out a couple useful quests. The ones I plan to do in the immediate future are:
- Death Plateau so I can get 3,000 EXP points in Attack and get boots that add +2 Strength for a measly 12gp. I needed some Trout from fishing for the quest and I have just barely enough Bread for it as well.
- The Knight's Sword for a massive amount of Smithing EXP. That alone should get me to level 31 from where I am, meaning I can make Steel Bars as opposed to dealing with the RNG flipping me off trying to make Iron Bars with a 50% success rate (I'm a LONG way from being able to enchant Ruby Rings into Rings of Forging as well).
- Witch's House to get a lot of Hitpoints EXP. See, there is a quest that, if done on a freshly made account, gets you up from level 1 Attack/Strength to 30 in both, but leaves your Hitpoints level at a measly 10. Since doing that quest, my Hitpoints EXP is lagging behind, and Witch's House will mostly help me make up a lot of the experience I missed out on actually grinding combat.
Other minor goals that will take a week or two include:
- Completion of the Dragon Slayer quest and eventually Heroes Quest
- Doing sub-quests in Recipe for Disaster until I unlock at least Adamant Gloves
- Completing any quests that are required to complete the sub-quests from RFD
- Bring my bank up to at least 500,000gp from its current 117,000gp mark
- Get every skill up to at least level 30 (8/23 completed)
Off-topic question: Do you guys think I should make a thread purely for my Iron Man challenge on Old School Runescape or continue posting updates here?
