Kind of wish the bridge had come to more:

The more I look at it, the less I like the top left. Thoughts on improvements?

Also, I'm aware the perspective is a little weird, because the lava appears to be on the same level despite the mountain's level lowering, but I thought it was the better than having the bridge end up running into what feels like the lower level of the ground at the left.

Also, I've just noticed that I should have put the sky behind the falling lava. Could someone do that for me?

That screen is fine, klop. One thing I'd ask is if you minded if I added a cave to it at some point, possibly. In case we need more options to reach other areas via caves, or warp zones. Having the heart piece at the end is a nice touch, on Shoshon's. It gives you a reason to traverse the long bridge at least once, if it doesn't lead anywhere else.

My next transition conundrum: How will lava, and snow mix? 375381970101862400.png?v=1

My current idea involves having the lava flow over the edge as it goes towards the upper left, then have the snowy mountains (magically) standing just beyond, and have some sort of steam effect between the two planes. But, this is just an idea. We also still need at least one more screen in Level 1 to connect 71 with the rest of the dungeon, then it will be done save for the boss :D.

Oh, we haven't had a picture of the whole map for a while, or Level 1 at all yet.

I was considering myself whether I wanted to add a cave to that screen, so feel free.

RE lava and snow, you could have lava hitting the snow and making it water. Take a liberty with real science?

Or you could just make the snow mountain accessible from the left and not from the lava mountain and so just cop out. I'd prefer to see someone solve the combination, but it's still possible.

One thing I considered was perhaps making the bridge extend into a cave/under the island to get around Shoshon's screen and having a ladder extend up to the cliff with the Heart piece. I think it turned out alright, though, but if you really want to keep the bridge going that's a thought.

I had a question about 27 on the overworld. The bridge screen with the broken rail. Was the idea to be able to jump down from there into the lower area? Cause that would be cool, and give another path from the bridge.

@Dimentio. I am having trouble understanding what exactly you mean xD. By "keep the bridge going" do you mean leave it as is?

I think it would be a good idea to be able to jump down from the side of the bridge. Maybe give the green wall thing that I put in 49 for some reason some use.

Before we changed the bridge's path I had ideas to make the bridge take you to on top of whatever that building would be (perhaps a more central dungeon), but that got phased out when we decided to make the bridge not be a crossroads. I seem to remember there being a script with which you can drop off the side of a mountain GB style (I can't remember the name, so I can't find it in the database) which could perhaps be used. If we did that, though, then ideally you could jump off the building as well, because otherwise there's no easy way out.

EDIT: On another note, I'm liking the look of Lit Landing right now. I know I made 4/7 of the screens, so that's kind of self-congratulatory, but the other screens are some of the nicest looking ones in my opinion. I kind of hope this section turns out quite large do we get a lot of lava screens (though I guess not too large because that would be an issue).

I've said it before, but I do really like this map. This land seems to be in some sort of insane mountain range with volcanos, snowy peaks, floating ruins, and long, ancient bridges. The valleys are flooded, forgotton ruins. It's a really mysterious land. I had this rough lore idea about maybe some giant creature busted out of the planet here, and you're here to re-seal it, or something. Tbh, I don't really care about making a story, so don't hold me to that. :heh:

Next time I get the file, I'll add in those lava caves, finally. I was thinking, since Horizon Factory is already a dungeon (at least it seems like it now) Lit Landing wouldn't have a dungeon, since they'd be insanely close to each other. I was thinking something like the Level 2 (or maybe 3) sword/ Blue Ring could be hidden in the caves there? Doesn't have to be, just an idea. The caves could also eventually connect the other surrounding areas. This is a good measure if we work ourselves into a corner, and need some screens with exits. This is all theory land here, I'm not trying to get too far ahead. I just want mah lava interiors dammit :P

I meant "if you really liked the bridge and didn't want it to end there you could have it extend into a cave, or even use the perspective to make it go "below" lit landing (if you think of lit landing as a floating island) and then have it continue into the caves dmap". I thought it had a good ending, but Klop didn't like that he had to end it there, so pointing out that solution.

Also yeah, I really love Lit Landing. It's funny that it originally started as a "lit 420" joke :P The entire map is really sexy as a whole too. :D

That's an interesting idea. Having the bridge go under/ through and continue on the other side. You could even do like, a section of the bridge that is underground/ under Lit Landing.

And I swear I'm not stalking this thread, I just happened to come back right after you posted :P

I mean, I don't mind that it ended, but I would have preferred it a little longer. That said, I think the current ending works (though I maybe wish the heart piece required more effort than 'walk along the bridge').

Also, other than the parenthesis, that sentence could be applied to several shows.

You could add a trigger to your screen to prevent people from just "getting" the heart.

Yeah, I was planning to, but I didn't want to make it just a bomb trigger because that's too easy

I could add a warp tile to my screen, have it come from somewhere else, then klop could put a secret on his screen to make it where you can cross the bridge from the left side.
