Sounds like the battery life of this thing's gonna be three hours again like it was with the Wii U gamepad.

I'm sure Nyko or someone else will make a larger third-party battery.

Samsung will produce a battery that will make it blaze along at top performance.

Just hook up the NX to the new Tesla car battery, and you're golden.

I'd be shocked if it didn't have some form of a charging cord, or car lighter adaptor/ USB/ whatever for on-the-go charging/ playing. Still more portable than the Wii U.

I've heard the idea floated around that they could easily get away with not including a charging cord for the tablet if they use Micro USB. I like the idea, because who doesn't already have a few Micro USB cables lying around? Nintendo gets to exclude the charging cord (a thing that they apparently like to do!) without upsetting people and we get to extend battery life using cables and devices we already own. I don't know if that's what they'll do, but it makes sense to me.

I did read that article about the newly discovered battery that lasts for centuries, but even if companies would be honest enough to produce it, it wouldn't be ready in time for March

Plus, it might raise production costs a little. :P

EDIT: Plus, let's face it guys, we all knew the battery life might not be the best. *runs*

So I just saw an online discussion video, mentioning that since the controllers are detachable, they could release new versions- one with the NES layout, the SNES layout, the N64 layout, the GCN layout etc. That's brilliant! I hope Nintendo does this.

EDIT: Also, I wonder what was the big idea Nintendo wanted to keep a surprise so it wouldn't be copied. Not really anything in the trailer that wasn't in the rumors.

The controllers are detachable on the Wii and Wii U, so don't hold your breath.

It wouldn't be clunky AF like the Circle Pad Pro, and they still made that...

Just read something stating that while it wasn't shown on the reveal trailer, the Switch's "tablet" is a 720p 10-point multi-touch screen. So, it looks like the odds of 3DS backwards-compatibility is looking better.

Also, the right JoyCon has an IR sensor like the Wii Remote, to imitate the touch screen when the "tablet" is docked.

Now, what I'm REALLY hoping for is if this thing can increase the internal resolution (as an optional feature, just in case it doesn't work well) of a 3DS game (if it's backwards compatible) in the same way that Citra, a 3DS emulator, can do. That way, games for the 3DS would look a TON better.

What's your source for that information? I've heard the touchscreen stuff before but as rumor, not as directly stated from Nintendo.

Just looks like more rumor mill to me. I mean, it could be interesting and could maybe work depending on how they utilize it (i.e. don't absolutely rely on it at all), but we'll see if it even has any truth.
