That is seriously some of the best boxart I've ever seen, though now I wonder what it look like in Japan and Europe, since they tend to have different boxart that's also pretty good. Still, can't wait to have it...

Oh, and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze as well! (All for NA)

Actually no, that comes out December 6th. :blah:

That is the European box-art.  Clearly, the NA version will be the exact same, except Link will have angry eyes.

Wait whoops! I meant Super Mario 3D Land. >__<

And Scoot, they barely showed ANY of ALBW. How would anyone know if the Master Sword plays a big role or not?

"And the master sword sleeps again, forever."
When suddenly, all aboard the retcon train!

Anyways, pretty neat boxart, yeah. I wouldn't say it's the best in the series (that would be SS), but still pretty great.

Normally their trailers as of late show what are the major elements of the game- Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword did that in particular.  So far, ALBW has only placed great significance on the whole Light vs Dark.

I wish they would leave the Master Sword alone because of the ending of ALttP.  Plus, I just like whenever Link uses something that isn't the Master Sword once in a while.  And seriously, why are we using the Hylian Shield, it's all about the Eagle/Red Shield.

You're about *insert however long it's been since the game was announced* late to make that joke. Not that I don't disagree that it would have made ALttP's good ending even more good but still.

And...

... that would be "World." :blah:

Huh... Well, I was reading a translation of the Japanese version, so it's possible the official translation was changed a bit, or maybe I'm remembering wrong. Can't check right now (on my phone), but I will when I get the chance.

Glitterberri? I also read in that that it's unknown.

ALBW is entering a brave new world of sorts. For most of the franchise, we've been witnessing the Triforce as it existed outside Hyrule, barring the first games, skyward sword, and much of the adult timeline. Here, it seems we may see for the first time how a good and successful Hyrule does with the Triforce in its hands.

Also, if this is happening so far after Alttp, perhaps it will at least somehow reference Zelda 2's backstory. Even if it doesn't happen yet, perhaps it will allude to or set up key elements.

As far as referencing Zelda 2's backstory, I feel like I've thought about the possibility myself, but it might not have been on this thread. Could be neat, but at the same time, doesn't mean it will happen. Suppose we shall see. Anyways, found the non-gold version of the box art:

Need bigger version now, must make my desktop background.

EDIT: Found one.

Oh, I'm not expecting ALBW to end with Zelda cast into a magic sleep. However, things might happen in it to set other things up. Perhaps for example the hiding of the Triforce of Courage in the Grand Palace?

Generally, when something sad or downer happens in a Zelda game, it happens in a way that it can be fixed or relieved, meaning a game may begin, but never end like this. You're given a chance to rectify things. If ever something bad does happen that you can't change, it's usually something outside of the games, to set up other games. (ie: what sets Wind Waker in motion.) I find it heavily unlikely that we'll ever get to actually witness the tragedy of Princess Zelda because you wouldn't be able to change things. (not without setting yet *another* timeline split into motion. And that's silly.)

ONE MOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAA THING

lol herpaderpaderp here's boxart in full color -TS-

Anyone else notice that there's a little more to the Master Sword site than just the platform and pedestal? Not that I think it couldn't be retconned into Alttp, I'm not sweating details. I just want to point out that now Alttp's site at the lost woods has been fleshed out a bit more. The wall that Link is mural-ing all over?

That's the outside of the Temple of Time!

Is this official art or fanworks? Either way, it's beautiful.

Update: Oh, nevermind! Got the answer. This is what I get for neglecting to read the post when I see something pretty.

Thanks Satellite!

Btw, why do I get the feeling that this game will feature the most paranoid enemies? I mean when Link transforms into a walking gliph (I believe that's what they are called), I dunno, at first it didn't bother me, but the more I see Link running around like Mr. Game and Watch, the more creepy this entire concept seems to me.

Seeing as I missed this earlier since I tend to miss most edits, I conjectured this myself the other night. Don't know if the ruins are just show for artwork or if they'll actually put them in the game, but yeah, most likely Temple of Time ruins. Would like to see them in the game though...
