I reuploaded the file,
now the first lock block that eventually leads to the boss key requires hookshot to get to (looking into ZQ, this could have been the problem, though no testers and no players till this day ran into such, so I still wonder...).
Now I also included the cheats.
I hope I updated the latest version of the file, not an earlier beta... checking it in ZQ, it has all content and also has the last bugfix I made before release, so let's hope for the best.

Download CoP from the same place again
and just copy this over the older one. Should work.

PM me if you think you actually messed up the key and I give you the L4 cheat.

I originally didn't include cheats knowing that 2.10 quests can be cracked so easily that if I do include cheats, one can get it even if I don't tell, but oh well.

I've killed all the patras...coming back down thre ramp ( and stepping on something) makes a bridge appear to where I've already been; it doesn't open any thing new to the north...I need a key to be able to go north OR I need to be able to go east from start which is still not open....your comments don't seem to apply....what am I missing? icon_frown.gif

Coming back down the ramp is what you need to do at east, not in the middle (where it's actually an annoyance trap).
One screen east of the entrance, kill all peahats to get a warp that takes you even more to the east. There, use ocarina on these screens to raise hookshot blocks so that you can get through to the eastmost part. There you need to go down south to unlock the eastern middle path and get the magic key there. So that you can use it on that lock block around the middle and then at the north.

EDIT:
I see, you haven't unblocked the pth to east. Well, see that there are two lamps but only one is burning? You need something like arrows or boomerang into one of them.

As usual...right after I posted I figured it out....I edited the previous post.

On another note, I'm sorry for not posting about the order of using keys in that one dungeon; I just am always in a habit of copying my game so as to avoid those key situations - so it was no big deal for me at the time though I did realize it had the potential to cause problems....

Haven't you opened the dungeon doors by playing the ocarina on the most northeast corner? I thought you said you already did... 0_O
To post a screen, use the IMG tags around the url, like {img}someurl.com/coolpic.tif{/img}, just with tag brackets instead of { }.

CastChaos:
Thanks for the response. I'm actually on that screen with the ladder (i guess going back down to the beach/shore). I simply can't get past it. I get trapped on the left side with the plant, a big rock and small rock, and a patch of grass after talking to the Simple Man on that screen.

I figured I've over extended my luck in using build 1056 instead of your recommended 2.10. Probably a glitch in the system! I simply cannot make 2.10 work on my computer anymore for some reasons so I took my chances with that other build. now to my dismay icon_frown.gif I think I'm beyond help at this point.

Despite of that,I haven't totally given up and remain determined to finish this quest, even if I have to replay it. Truly appreciate the kind of support you provide with your quests - another reason why I love playing your quests. Thanks.

Actually, you intended to get warped there. That's where the trigger is. To remove the warps from the screen so that the scene won't keep repeating ever and ever. You should just walk up-down once if the trigger doesn't do it automatically.

Or if it's really the build, like, it having a bug that nullifies triggers if you get warped on them, then redownload the file and ask for the new L4 cheat I installed today. But I don't see why would this be a problem, since this "warp onto trigger" method is used at other parts, too.

Thank you so much for taking time to research my predicament. You just made my day. I redownloaded the update and tried that technique. While it took me 3-4 tries, IT WORKED!!! icon_biggrin.gif Am now in the Citadel with renewed enthusiasm and motivation.
While it's generous of you to offer the L4 cheat, i'll hit you up on that when absolutely necessary. I'm one of those players who enjoys the magic of the hunt and thrill of the kill while appreciating the smarts of the quest maker. Thank you kindly.

This is actually not the case because the tools to crack quest passwords are fairly hard to find (I believe the only tool made publicly available only worked for 1.90 or something). Not to mention a lot of people here would never use these tools out of respect to the questmaker.

On a more related note, where can I find this Prince guy I've heard about?

Finished the game with "best ending"...bonus area, Mt. Piece,- killed the spider creatures outside the cave, but then was told I can't pass through and to "guess who can" - Is this the end? Overall, very nice job - lately quests have not been keeping my absorbed interest, This quest however did not do that to me. I enjoyed it very much...5/5...and I really believe there was too much undue criticism over bugs as I had a relative bugfree romp - there are always places where you get awkwardly snagged in places, but F6 continues or saves solve the problem. I encountered very few of those....not enough to make a big deal out of it though - it did not disrupt the flow of the game. Using the correct build heads off a lot of the problems discussed in this thread. I found no need for a cheat code - the only issue was using keys in the correct order in the one dungeon - if that was fixed (and by the way, heads up game playing strategy would solve those key issues in this quest AND in others that I have played) and if that key issue was fixed, players should have NO PROBLEMS completing this quest because of bugs; NOR should a cheat have to be used to finish the game. I think CastChaos has taken some unwarranted harsh criticism in a dignified manner. He has my respect for not only his questmaking abilities but also for his willingness to help players in a most friendly way. Hats off to CastChaos for this quest and for all that he does to keep the Zelda Classic community a fun and friendly environment. Cheers!!

Pokemonmaster64:
If you already have the first upgrade into your sword, go to Vikkatlan Isle and look for a small enclosed area with suspicious emptyness (not a big walk from the whistle warp point) and slash away.
Trivia time:
-The name "Vikkatlan" comes from Hungarian grammar. "-tlan" and "-tlen" at the end of a word in Hungarian is the same nullifier attachment that is "-less" at the end of an English word. So, it means "an isle with no Vikka". Frankly, it would be written as "Vikkátlan" if CoP was Hungarian.
-Prince is based on the first antagonist type character I made up, sometime in elementary school.

chiefbigcalf:
I'm so grateful for these nice words, this is what reassures me that all those development time wasn't in vain.
Mt.Piece is indeed the end, all you can do is to explore around. It's a sneak peek at the Ellivenia story, for what you see is minutes before the start of Ellivenia: Compensating Soul, the story that I keep making in mind. Notable story peeks include the statue room where you can't pass (Estemira can) and the stone circle that nothing can get into (till some hours later... when the scene that you seen before L7 happens).
All endings have an extra area afterwards.

Stray Sheep found almost all secrets, but there are still some I remember to be untaken so far. I remember two.
1. A missable secret scene in a dungeon, you can access it with ZQ limitation abuse (I intentionally left it like that and made it lead to the secret in question).
2. This is not a secret area or item, just something story related to notice. Maybe some people already noticed just didn't see as THAT important. Too see this hidden thing, keep in mind that if a seemingly meaningless thing is mentioned often, then it's not meaningless. Also consider most areas are played in different times, but some are close to each other.

This L5 thing should be fixed now, I'm just wondering about L6... Somebody (Maybe Zckrazee?) said he missed the first item and needed to restart the area... I hope such won't happen with others.
