PS - I ripped in the DoR Link tiles, can anyone tell me why the colors are so off?

You should look over your screens before deciding you're done with them icon_wink.gif Why you ask? Let me show you:

1: The trees top is one tile too low (or the bottom is one tile too high, your choice icon_razz.gif)
2: Too close to the edge of the screen icon_wink.gif
3: Same as 2. Both of these can actually be removed without losing any aesthetic quality to the shot icon_wink.gif

If the colors are off, it's because you did a poor job ripping in the tiles icon_wink.gif Just have the original open in a second window so you can compare, and then fix accordingly. It's a very nice way of re-coloring tiles, and it's simple too icon_smile.gif

Other than the little mess-ups here and there that Robin pointed out, and I agree with him, that is a nice pure screen!

That tree at the top is supposed to be like that icon_wink.gif

And when I said ripping, I meant from the tiles that came with PR in a different file.
But the colors arn't right, I don't have the right ones.
But, Moo2wo ad Dawnight have them perfect!
How do I do that?!

I have them perfect as well and i'm using pure_remembrance, I love this set icon_deformed.gif . make sure you're in cset 6 while ripping. it might help. icon_shrug.gif

I don't like how every single grass tile has detail on it. It makes your screen look cluttered and unattractive. In addition, you should have some kind of consistency with the different details instead of just throwing them in random places. The screen also doesn't look very playable due to the abundance of trees and other unwalkable objects.

One thing I must compliment you on is the shape of the mountains. They look natural and fit perfectly with the rest of the screen. Maybe you should add another mountain above the ones at the top of the screen to draw the player's attention towards the area of gameplay instead of the grassy area. I know it sounds silly, but it'll really bring the look of your screen together. (And it'll also close the open corner.)

Looks good Lynker! Though the one tree on the right is a little close to the edge of the screen.

Also, when ripping in the DoR Link tiles make sure that you're not using the recolor button. If it's already in the right palette structure there is no need to use that feature.

Those are both wonderful screens, but I would recommend replacing the big trees with small ones, or changing the tree bottom

Lynker, you keep placing tiles way too close to the border of your screens. As I told you earlier, it really helps looking over them before calling yourself done, because it's issues like this that can make or break a game experience.

Also, I think you're trying a little too hard on the bottom screen, when it comes to squishing in as many different colored trees as possible. It looks synthetic and unattractive.

Lynker, those look great. You're really improving a lot! Other than the pine tree on the top screen being a little too close to the bottom edge, they're perfect!

that minimap is nice, Lynker. good to see a lot of edges issues corrected there. cluttered works as a style in these. a bit of overgrowth is to be expected in less-traveled nooks. I'd probably switch the stairs and vines, but I don't know the intent. the bottom screen could use some love in the entering from the side factor, depending on the enemy spawnings, but I suspect you'd adjust when the black section is done, anyway. this area makes me think that there would be plant life tiles that would get crushed as Link stepped onto them, like the grass getting creased and the mushrooms getting squished... will you do any combos like that?
