Thanks for the response, Joe, (And Hi! Glad to see you! icon_biggrin.gif ) Yes, I am working on bugs, though as of the time of this post, I'm writing a metric arseload of essays for finals week. I'll be all done after Wednesday the 25th, and free to devote an equally heavy amount of time to the quest.

Yes, any bugs that you have to report are quintessential to the completion of our work here, so please don't hold back. Functional bugs over graphical bugs, though, take priority. The tileset is just awful to work with. > <. Heh...

Oh, don't forget to download the version of DoY that I keep linking to in at least every other post of mine. It's all the same link in every post anyway. Replace the version you have now (Make a backup if you want) and rename it to what the old file's name was, and it'll be the bug-fixed version with the latest bugfixes. I don't silently replace the link, so whenever I post with the new link in my post, redownload it and replace it.

So After getting help from Artistic and trying various other things, I am being told that this room leads to the hammer/axe... well I am also being told there are enemies I am suppose to beat to trigger this door to open but my game is now allowing me to do anything, that room has no enemies in it, just the two grave stones and a shut door... I tried reentering the room from the top but nothing has changed... so is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Also, this is the newest update to the DOY, thanks again for all the tweaking you're doing Shadow : )

Did you kill the boss on B2 and the one on B1 floor? That might trigger the door being open.

I have killed the boss on f1 and b1... I think I need the axe to get to the boss on b2 unless you know how to get there I kept looking but everywhere seems like a dead spot ( aka stuck where I need the axe against the grave stones) so any help?

mmm...! the construction place need a little fix
After wasting my last stone relic and coming way back to get out...steeping on the stair lead me to a null screen!!
Well .. thin Artistic spoke about this already,, but this catch me today, icon_unsettled.gif
I'm getting the last revised edition and will start a new game -(joy to much ? nope ) icon_wacky.gif

@vravelo: You don't have to start a new game, you know. Just rename the old file to something else, and download the new file in its place, with the same name as what the old file was before you renamed it. You can keep going from there, with all the new bug fixes.

A screenshot of that stairs would be nice, too. I can't really fix what I can't find, except through many many minutes of screen-hunting. Not to mention that this version of ZQuest often crashes while looking at tile or side warps.

How do I get into Link's dream?...I have the other 7 triforce crystal pieces and I can see the warp at Link's house thru the lens; I've been in the area where you're told you need to close out all 8 dreams. I guess it would be the vines/mirrors/marathon sequence; have forgotten how to open that stuff up. Help, please.

Er... Either I can't find it, or I don't see a screenshot from you with a buggy staircase.

I do apologize. I can be a bit of a blind idiot sometimes. Occasionally, to get things done, you have to put things right under my nose so I don't get confused in seeing something else. icon_unsettled.gif icon_sorry.gif

Yeah, Link's house does indeed have a dream warp next to his bed, but there's no trigger in it other than the "Trigger enemy as a boss" and enemy Boss Flag thing. Oddly, the screen flag "Enemies->Secret" isn't triggered, and the warp tile is (secret) Flag #16, which would make it a secret.

The Trigger enemy's death as a boss is tied to the Dmap's "Level" number. The only other Dmaps which have a Level number of 33, just like Link's house (and all the other NPC Houses, for that matter. O.o ... It's weird, yo...) is the Fairy's Dream, and one of the Final Battles. Not at all sure why it would have to be like that, unless it's some sort of obscure cheat protection.

I guess go find the Great Fairy and enter her dream. icon_unsettled.gif Best I can tell you right now after a cursory glance.

ShadowTiger you are a hero, icon_thumbsup.gif what you are doing is a dirty job alike ,,(none one want do it)
I'd been playing this quest for many years now! maybe from 2002 or 2003??
I'm addict to this is like a never ending dream, (if I beat this quest, will have a heart attack)

It is ok Shadow but it is this room... someone said the door is suppose to be open, what triggers it to be open or is it a bug? ( I was told the hammer/axe is right behind this but I cannot access this room : (

I went and looked. No you don't need the axe. You drop from this room and after dropping walk through the right wall. Then there is only one way to the boss.

Going back to look I finally remembered that in the Crypt that certain doors weren't open until I kill the bosses. You have to kill the B1 boss to open a door to go to more of the dungeon and you have to kill the boss on B2 to open the door for the axe.


EDIT: Do you need the mirror shield for the boss in the Volcano?

Thank you! I finally figured it out with your help, I had no idea those doors opened like that, I figured they were one way doors but again thank you!

So I finished the Crypt with 2 extra keys.... do you get another item besides the the hammer/axe?

The boss in volcano....there is a shield at the top of the room already...

I believe you get the reflecting shield in Marathon

Ok, the top screen you all know is the excavation site .. well if I drop down the hole I fall into the second screen, I have gotten close enough to open the chest to see it is the mirror/lens of truth BUT if I move towards it at all I end up on the last screen. I am just curious, is this a bug or is there a way to get that mirror there, if so how? I have tried falling off several ways but nothing work, thanks.
