Can I just say that I love that palette? 'Cause, seriously. The new tiles are really good additions, too... I like how you have bushes that actually feel natural and fit into Classic. I wish I'd had bushes like those when I was working on a Classic quest. icon_frown.gif

The layout is pretty nice, too--nice balance of detail, I think. icon_thumbsup.gif Although it's maybe slightly on the cramped side, especially considering there's 3 Peahats and a Zora onscreen. I think moving those Armoses out of the way would help a lot, but I'm not sure where to move them. Maybe closer to the cave, somehow? Like, would it be a huge issue to have them sorta... float near the cave? As long as you could do that in a way that feels natural. It's not a huge deal... I'm just a bit concerned about the screen's playability is all.

Also, I wonder what would happen if you put a dark border on the bottom of your cliffs. It's something the classic set has always irked me with - That the bottom-most layer of mountains is the same as the middle layers.

Testing out a new subscreen, water tiles, grass tiles, tree trunks, treetops, .. and I think thats it. I have done alot of graphical adjustments so thats why I still haven't gotten around to fixing the subscreen sprites. I'll probably get to that next.

Theryan: I really like this shot. Its classic yet very different from most classic screens I've seen. Nice job.

^ Not exactly sure why I get this feeling but the combination of tiles used and the palette is really trippy. It's like you just walked into the forest of Alice in Wonderland.

I must say, those treetops look so realistic when combined with everything else on the screen. I think it looks fantastic. I've always been a fan of your work back then.

What Fire Wizzrobe is saying makes sense. The palette also helps make the forest seem cartoonish. But I still love the use of the graphics and is super jelly icon_razz.gif

Just...wow. Amazing job. All the tiles fit so well together. But, why isn't the grass the same under the fences and other tiles?

Haha.. Its actually the palette if anything that has given you that feeling. If you would have seen what the palette originally looked like before I made some adjustments to it.. I'll try to find a screenshot around.

Thanks, Dawnlight. I was kinda aiming for a more realistic look from what I was previously working with.

Thanks. I was being lazy, really. I also wanted to know what people thought of the grass tiles first before I went ahead and changed all of my tiles. icon_razz.gif

Great screen and great tiles, apart from the forest brush. I've never liked the way you've inversely coloured it, and its LttP graphic style clashes with the 'realism' of the other tiles.

I agree, the forest brush are horrible.. Only reason i didn't bother changing it before the shot was because I've been working on something new. I recently finished and was going to display it another time but since you brought it up, I'll show you a pic:

Jared: Nice, I really like this LttP look you and Shane are going for. My only suggestion would be to try to add a violet-ish color for one of the OW csets, similar to the one LttP had:

I like it. The one thing I like about the paths is that it can go diagonal without extra tile work. icon_biggrin.gif

(All thought one diagonal road is skinny while the other begs differ I like the skinny one more)

EDIT: /M/ we've got a nice purple colour made by Linkus in our overworld palette, we're going to use this for certain things. icon_smile.gif Fantastic screen and new brush tiles BTW!

Love it. Keep up the good work, let's hope this is one quest/tileset that gets completed!

Thanks, Bourkification, It'll be either a quest or a tileset. If I fail to put something decent together once again (a quest, that is), then I'll just release everything in a user-friendly format to those who are interested.
