But the Sonic Pinkieboom at the end made it worthwhile.

But the Sonic Pinkieboom at the end was almost too much.

I feel like back in season 1 Pinkie had absolutely nothing wrong with her and now she's becoming more and more stupid and annoying...

Oh no, I don't mind them; there's simply an overflow of them and I feel that something more comprehensive would be nice for a change. Y'know, somewhat more of an equilibrium.
I feel kinda like Pinkie's character has deteriorated as season 2 has advanced. She seems so much more flawed now compared to season 1, which I guess is OK, but I kinda liked the old Pinkie more...

I don't really want to jump on the "oh-this-show-is-starting-to-suck" bandwagon yet, but I would say that it has deteriorated somewhat since Faust stepped down. Someone please bring it back.

On an unrelated note: I've taken to drawing my friends pony-cards for their birthdays; how I manage to retain friends perplexes me.
One and two.
The former may be something that only Pokemonmaster will enjoy, but we'll see. The friend who I sent the latter to is always compared to Spike for his uncanny ability to be friend-zoned, so I only thought a card such as that appropriate.

I'm convinced that Pinkie Pie does not fully understand
Reasons why I think Pinkie Pie has Asperger's Syndrome:
She can't pick up on sarcasm: The "Fluttershy is a tree" incident shows this. It's reinforced when Cranky is a bit sarcastic with her and she simply takes it literally.
She doesn't know how to respond to ponies that don't give into her antics. She relies so heavily on her quirkiness that it confuses her when it doesn't work.
She doesn't pick up on hints. It happened a lot in today's episode.
She feels no shame in asking for a toupee over a megaphone... and she doesn't realize that Cranky is angry with her for doing so.
Her empathy and sympathy are severely limited. She thinks every problem can be solved with a party... until she finds a case where that isn't true: Cranky.
She has difficulty in communicating with others because they just write it off as "Pinkie Pie just being Pinkie Pie." In the case of Swarm of the Century, she doesn't realize that nobody else knows what to do about parasprites. She just assumes that everyone else is thinking what she is thinking so she's frustrated that she isn't making sense to others.
Sidenote: Some people think that Twilight Sparkle has Aspergers. I think they're wrong; it's OCD.

That season?

Season 1? The season where she suffered a mental breakdown complete with hallucinations because, due to her friends not talking to her for like an hour or two, she jumped to the assumption that they all decided they hated her and didn't want to be her friends anymore?
That season?
Ok you have a point. I guess what I mean is I prefer a Pinkie that goes full cupcakes crazy than a super sperg with serious communication issues that cause her to be a hindrance to others...I dunno, maybe it's just me but I find Pinkie hard to watch sometimes...maybe it's because I know I was that socially inept at one time...

But yeah, I've seen the new episode. Gonna have a Fluttershy av up soon cause I'm all about being Fluttery and shy. It's... in my contract. I also love showing up for about 10-20 minutes just to walk... while Pinkie Pie sings, then, NINJA VANISH!

Wait, didn't Faust only step down for Season 3? Eh, at any rate, I disagree that the show is getting worse. If anything, I'd say it's getting better.
It makes sense how Spike is relatively young when Rarity dies because dragons age through greed.
Fixed that for you. At least, that's how I understood it to be. It is possible that they still age through time, but only really grow up through greed, and can therefore die of old age when they're still babies, but I think aging through greed not only make more sense, but is quite an interesting concept.

She somewhat stepped down; she's no longer the lead of the show or some flibbertigibbet-nonsense like that; she's fully leaving the show after this season, which is even moreso some flibbertigibbet-nonsense.
I wouldn't really say that the character-specific episodes help us to learn about the characters' personalities so much as spoon-feed us the characters' personalities. In the more comprehensive episodes, we learnt more about them vicariously and (somewhat) subtly, which I enjoyed. With what are already such over-the-top and obvious personalities, I feel that the character-specific episodes are like being expected to eat an entire excessively rich cheese-cake when one slice would've been far more enjoyable.
But hey, this is coming from someone who reads untranslated Geoffrey Chaucer, so I suppose that what I look for in children's shows may be somewhat different.

Ah, right, thanks. Anyway, I don't really get exactly what you mean about the character specific episodes, but I do agree that all the episodes each only really focusing on one main character alone is kinda boring. There should at least be some more episodes focusing on two main characters, like Griffon The Brush Off or Green Isn't Your Colour. However, we'll most likely get a full main cast (I refuse to call them the Mane Six, that's a terrible pun) episode for the season finale. And there are rumours going around that the season finale will be a three-parter, meaning even more main cast episodes.
