Eddy, maybe some Tokay could be peaceful and others are hostile and attack Amy? Then again, that's just how I'd do it. Instead of them stealing stuff, have some be hostile. Then again, it's your call. Nice faithful island going there too.
What did you accomplish in ZC today?

That could be cool, but I think what I'm going to do is to make a little twist where I make Tokays more peaceful than the way they were back in Ages. Either way, thanks ![]()

I made a boss... seems to work good, though I may still tweek him a bit more, but yes! I made him work !
(the fireball doesn't come from his mouth but shoots from his wings). The vulnerable face blinks in and out in order to compensate for it not being able to properly move back and forth. You also have to hit it with a certain object to activate the proper fight.
This is really just a test screen for him, the in screen that he will appear in will be different in my quest. But mechanic-wise, it actually works! I am quite happy on how it turned out ![]()

Is it a scripted boss, Limebeer?
Anyways, I am almost done with my EotM boss. Oh, you didn't hear? The deadline has been extended! Yay!

This is what I'm doing instead of actually making ZC quests
. 3D ZC graph paper (and it's to scale, with 11x16 tiles per screen, and each square represents one tile). I thought this would be a fun, and different way to get the creative juices flowing. I have a real sketch side by side that I'm drawing stuff in; much quicker than I can model it, then attempting to make 3D models of the dungeons. Who knows if I'll really do this for all of them, cause it's kind of hella time consuming.
As far as actual ZC goes, I got some stuff done in a quest of mine. Some kind of secret stuff. But probably not really that secret at all.
Also, if anyone here uses Google SketchUp, and wants the template, I'll send it to you. ^^

Nope, 100% completely unscripted! Just alot of work to make ![]()
Yes i have heard it got extended to this thursday! If I get my Thunderbird boss completely finished I think I'll submit it to EotM ![]()

I started building a dungeon. It's swamp themed, and I'm trying out a new design philosophy, where the dungeon itself is more of a maze with light puzzles, and relies less on locked doors, and fighting rooms of enemies (which don't worry, there should still be plenty of).

I really wanna try working on the intro soon too. I forgot about that to be honest. Oops.

I'm making a second phase of my Thunderbird boss as he seems to be too easy (in my opinion) to beat how he is... as he's one of the final bosses that I have in my quest I think I can justify him becoming harder than he is
I also need to set up some sort of combo cycling platforms in order to make it so that you can't just shield/sword spam him on the side platform. I want this boss to be hard (but not insane or annoying, but the fun-hard that people will want to keep replaying him)

It's pretty neat that you are making such an interesting boss without scripting. I can't wait to try it out if you submit it to EotM! ![]()

Thankyou! I'm still disappointed I can't make him move back and forth along the screen though like the original one from Zelda 2...(darn ZQ enemy limitations) but I am enjoying finding ways to work around it and hopefully make an interesting boss! I'll be working on him today and tomorrow to hopefully have him ready! If I can't I'll either see if next months EotM fits, or perhaps post a small challenge run for people to test and play ![]()

Made another phase to my Thunderbird boss. I had to rearrange the order of the intended phases (as the Leever Enemy doesn't have a Split on Death attribute) but still, it should still work out. I still have to play-test it to be sure... I also (hopefully) made it so that the body completely disappears once the boss is defeated, though we shall see. If not, well... it won't matter if the body is left hanging with no head ![]()
Edit:
gah! I'm trying to get the weapon that shoots from the boss to pass through the solid combo that is preventing his head from falling down... is there any way to do so? I've tried everything that I can think of, it's getting quite annoying as I don't want to add in another projectile shooter :/
Edit 2:
Figured it out... turns out you need a step speed in order to make it work...
Gah! Stupid sideview gravity... wish I knew that if the enemy had any step rate while being surrounded by solid combos it would just push itself through them
Anyone have any suggestions? If not then I may have to cut that phase for now and try to recreate it in normal settings later ![]()
Final edit:
Gah, had to compromise alot with making my Thunderbird enemy due to how movement is affected by sideways gravity... but I think I found a good compromise... He's quite easy with the stage set up right now, but if you make the stage right he'll be quite a difficult foe! And yes, in that last screen his vulnerable face is disappearing, but it does come back ![]()

This is not even remotely set in stone, (Pun entirely unintended... egads.) and I do see a lot of areas where I can improve this. I guess this is where I say "I'm taking suggestions" and whatnot.

At a cursory glance, they kinda look like they're wearing a santa hat, if you're not wearing your glasses.
Probably not a bad thing.
