Oh man, Wrestlemania 2000, back when I was (somewhat) into wrestling. I played the hell out of that game and made so many different customizable characters with their own movesets. The customization in that game was insane. It appealed to me greatly.

 

Same here. I wasn't into wrestling AT ALL until my younger cousin introduced me to this game. Now I have custom characters all across the board and I kind of regularly remake some of them into new characters over time. Notable examples:

 

-Myself

-One of my real life friends (he wears the Undertaker's costume but has a move set that portrays him as a hardcore heel, such as gouging out the opponent's eyes when he counters a punch, low blow counters for kicks, foul shot for the strong B + D-Pad attack and a good number of moves that can cause knockout, namely Tombstone Piledriver and Fire Thunder Driver)

-My father

-My mother (formerly a menace in singles)

-Angry Video Game Nerd (tempted to make alternate costumes in the future for Mike Matei, BS Man and either Kyle Justin, Bad Luck Bootsy or Kevin Finn)

-Steve (from Minecraft; called Minecraft Steve)

-Duke Nukem

-TopKirby8305 & MeleeWizard

 

I also made a few other completely random characters, such as a guy just named Raymond, Christopher "Candy Man" Anderson, Tim "The Tick" Wilson, a recreation of the one that monitors the gaming group I go to (I call him Richard Social) and I even made a character look like a default skin bot from Runescape. The latter I plan to delete and attempt to create Shinya Arino, the guy that plays the games on the show GameCenter CX. My current custom character teams (normally):

 

-Richard Social + Big Bossman aka the Big Bossmen

-My mother and my father

-AVGN and Duke Nukem aka the Foulmouths (both known for using strong language)

-Raymond and "Candy Man" aka "Candy Ray" (these two have the best win : loss ratio)

-TopKirby8305 and MeleeWizard

Started playing Mega Man 2, and I'm really enjoying the game so far. It also seems to be really easy, but I'm pretty sure the Wily Stages are gonna wreck me :P

Also, just picked up Final Fantasy VI and started playing. It's okay so far...(as FF games go, not in love with it...)

Totally agree on FF6, is best the snes version, but sometime appear a bug when use Relm skill..if the game don' stop, all your inventory change !

Rhythm Heaven DS is the second entry (and it's awesome). The first entry is in GBA.


Which is the one I was refering to. There's a nearly complete fanmade translation/localization.

I had No Mercy, but I had one of the carts where the game's data would randomly reset for no reason at all. I remember trying to do the Women's Championship with a female Superstar I made that was supposed to be my mother and when I got to the 3rd chapter, all the sudden, she turned into one of the customizable "Original" default cookie cutter male characters. It also happened to me in a few other Championship mode games where I had myself as a character, only to have it screw up and randomly reset to the default Original A character. In addition, I remember it also erasing all of my custom Superstars on my memory pak as well whenever this would happen.

 

I really did love No Mercy, but the fact I had one of the carts with a screwed up internal battery didn't help. Regardless, I really loved doing Ironman, Handicap and Guest Referee matches, almost always picking Mark Henry for the latter. Naturally, I would play the typical heel role. I would screw with the match's outcome, break submission holds and refuse to count if the Superstar I wanted to win was pinned. But as soon as he floored the other guy, I counted as fast as I could. Ditto for count out matches. Say I want Steve Austin to win and not Perry Saturn. If Austin is outside of the ring, I don't count. As soon as Saturn is out however, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10! COUNT OUT! Then to be a real troll, I would hit "rematch" and do the same, except turn it into a handicap match in favor of the guy I made sure lost last time, this case being that I would tilt the table in favor of Perry Saturn and do anything to sabotage Steve Austin's attempts at winning.

 

I loved some of the new taunts and walk poses (like the one the guy does really overjoyed skipping and swaying back and forth), but I really hate how the ring entry was dummied out. I really liked how your "short name" appeared with your attitude meter. Probably the best was how it was possible to have someone in SPECIAL! mode get knocked down instantly to DANGER, and even end up in LOSING IT! when "knocked out" in matches you couldn't win by TKO. Let's not forget going backstage as well. Lastly, I love the mechanic with the Super Heavyweight Superstars where if you try to grapple them, you struggle to lift them. Success got you a really large boost in attitude where failure resulted in your character hurting his back, taking attitude from you and giving it to the Superheavy Superstar.

 

EDIT: The North Division is underway and in the first set, Steve Austin and the Undertaker dispatch the team of The Rock and Steve Blackman in just under 17 minutes by means of pinfall.

Welp, finished Layton vs Wright. I've got a bunch of puzzles I missed, so I'll be doing that before I put the game down though. I'd say it was worth the wait. It felt more like a Layton game in all overall, but I didn't really mind that. Though I found it to be a lot easier than the other games of either series which again, isn't a problem necessarily.

 

Not sure what I'll jump to after. I was thinking of Etrian Odyssey III but since Pokemon'll be out next month, I kinda don't want to start the next EO just yet. >_<

 

EDIT: All the puzzles solved. I think there's 2 downloadable ones that aren't out yet, but for what I have, I'm all done. :D

-Still playing Rhythm Heaven Fever. Fuck, my rhythm is bad, I suck at this game D:, I love it a lot
-Playing Sin & Punishment with English patch. A very well-made game, with simple and intuitive controls and good levels, fast paced (but not TOO fast), accesible, fair difficulty... Treasure makes good shumps/action games. S&P, Ikaruga, Gunstar Heroes... even their non-shump games like Dynamite Headdy are pretty good. I should try Bangai-O and Radiant Silvergun one day...

Finally beat Tales of Xillia 2. Got both the good and the true endings. While the endings were very clear regarding Ludger's and Elle's fates, it was extremely vague for the rest of the Xillia cast. Now to pay off the remaining 13 million gald in Ludger's debt.

So been playing Etrian Odyssey Untold on and off still.

I technically got through the 30th floor and beat The Core thing. I was lazy, so I just did it on Picnic difficulty so I could start a New Game+ sooner and do Classic Mode this time. Before doing that I did Reclass everyone from Story Mode and grind them back up to 99 so they had the bonus stats and points.

Anyhow, I started Classic mode a bit ago and honestly, I kinda like Story Mode better. Yes, there's more customization with the team, but you miss out on a bit of interactions with various characters, a few areas, and from the looks of it a Guildmaster as well.

The only negative I've heard with Story Mode after playing Classic Mode, is you cannot use your other members at all, which is really dumb. It'd be fine if you get access to them after clearing Story Mode not counting postgame.

I'm not really sure which mode I'll leave my game in at the end. I'm leaning slightly towards Story Mode atm.

I played to a strange PS2 game, is called ICO, you are a little boy that was supposed to be sacrified,  he must escape from  a castle whit  a girl that..well...let's say she a is a bit clumsy, probably because was kept in prison for much time.

Is a bit like prince of persia but you must baby-sitting this girl.. there some nasty shadows that want kidnapp the girl and if they take her away.. you will be killed

The story is nice nd the puzzles are good, i think is a good game, only a bit short

I don't blame you. I looked into how the core was handled in the remake, and it's pretty different from the original. The original was really freaking BS, but the new one seemed pretty crazy too.

I'm probably skipping classic mode entirely when I get to it. I've gone through and achieved 100% on the original, so there's my run of classic mode. >_> Though it does seem like you get kind of screwed over for not playing story mode, as you do miss a bunch. Kind of sucks, really. Do you still have access to the grimoires?

Out of curiosity, what're you running?

Speaking of Etrian Odyssey, I decided that despite Pokemon coming out next month, I'd get a start on Etrian Odyssey III. Just hit the 3rd floor. Jeez the early game of this one is tough. ._. Running Gladiator,Hoplite,Arbalist|Monk,Princess. It's looking to be a pretty basic team, but something I feel I can work with.
