Oh man, Wrestlemania 2000, back when I was (somewhat) into wrestling. I played the hell out of that game and made so many different customizable characters with their own movesets. The customization in that game was insane. It appealed to me greatly.
Same here. I wasn't into wrestling AT ALL until my younger cousin introduced me to this game. Now I have custom characters all across the board and I kind of regularly remake some of them into new characters over time. Notable examples:
-Myself
-One of my real life friends (he wears the Undertaker's costume but has a move set that portrays him as a hardcore heel, such as gouging out the opponent's eyes when he counters a punch, low blow counters for kicks, foul shot for the strong B + D-Pad attack and a good number of moves that can cause knockout, namely Tombstone Piledriver and Fire Thunder Driver)
-My father
-My mother (formerly a menace in singles)
-Angry Video Game Nerd (tempted to make alternate costumes in the future for Mike Matei, BS Man and either Kyle Justin, Bad Luck Bootsy or Kevin Finn)
-Steve (from Minecraft; called Minecraft Steve)
-Duke Nukem
-TopKirby8305 & MeleeWizard
I also made a few other completely random characters, such as a guy just named Raymond, Christopher "Candy Man" Anderson, Tim "The Tick" Wilson, a recreation of the one that monitors the gaming group I go to (I call him Richard Social) and I even made a character look like a default skin bot from Runescape. The latter I plan to delete and attempt to create Shinya Arino, the guy that plays the games on the show GameCenter CX. My current custom character teams (normally):
-Richard Social + Big Bossman aka the Big Bossmen
-My mother and my father
-AVGN and Duke Nukem aka the Foulmouths (both known for using strong language)
-Raymond and "Candy Man" aka "Candy Ray" (these two have the best win : loss ratio)
-TopKirby8305 and MeleeWizard
