One entity, two different ways to rip. Take your pick, people.

They're both the same. 24 frames. I think I used an animation speed of 4. It rips right into DoR's Cset 8.

EDIT: Oh, bother. I actually just submitted it to the database. I sure hope it gets approved. I'll totally just die if it doesn't.

Already submitted a review on the tile page, but I really think that the fire is absolutely fantastic! Great job! :)

Also, Eddy, that outline of the island looks neat! Can't wait to see it filled with details. :)

(basically a repost from the Post your Maps topic...)

I'm still a bit hesitant on how the top looks as I want it to look like the outside still looks like it's going up to more levels and the inside walls just reaches to it's ceiling. Also I'm still basically just doing the layouts and placing where the triggers and such are going to be.

Anyways, opinions?

It reminds me a bit of the SNES games Soul Blazer and/or Illusion of Gaia. There were some areas that had spacey parts of the floors along with those sorts of walls there. Could use a bunch more doodads though. General decorations to break the monotony of straight walls.

There will be decorations and such, no worries ;) this is just a basic layout at the moment, There'll be alot more added in it once I get everything mechanic-wise ready :) (such as rugs and torches and other such things on the floors and walls)

Right. Okay, a thought arises: Stare, if you will good sir, at the torch in the left-central part of the image. Now look at the wall immediately above it, and at its partner wall below the walkway a few inches beneath. What are your thoughts as to the perspective and visual differences on those two different walls? Are you satisfied with how the walls travel downward into the depths?

hmm, I do see (atleast in part) on what you are getting at... and it also helped point out a wrong I did with some of the mesh platforms I have for height as well... I'll be sure to change that to get it looking a bit better and deeper as well.

Well, I actually made some more overworld screens in GB. I'm starting to really love using the tileset even if the screens take about 5x more effort to make than classic screens. But the outcome is also 5x better.

Interesting! I always felt like the GB tileset was the next easiest tileset to use; far easier than the PTUX or DoR (or equivalent) sets. What makes it five times harder, rather than two or three times harder, if I may ask?

Because I actually kinda feel like I'm using it wrong now. :odd:

Slowly making more progress on Crescent Island. The entrance to Level 3 is also present on the far left, though you can't enter it unless you are in the present (just like in Ages). The difference here is that Tokays are actually more peaceful and don't steal all your shit, so you're good to go lol.

I'm loving Crescent Island so far, and I'm going to flat out say yet again that I appreciate you using EZGBZ the way it was meant to be. It's so rare to see such a genuine philosophy.

Also Tokays eh? I'm waiting for the rants about the inclusion of Tokays.

No worries, you are right about sets like PTUX or DoR being harder to use than GB. It's just that with GB I find myself spending a lot of time fixing and changing minor stuff here and there, over and over until it looks the way I want it to. xD

Eddy, nice job on your map so far! Why not make the tokays steal the items? I thought that was a great idea. lol

Prepares for the hate train

Either way, thanks :D There's plenty more to come in the future.

Thanks! As for the Tokays not stealing items, that seems like a very hard thing to do, and it will probably need scripts (which I can't even use properly).

Looking really good, Eddy! I can't wait to see the rest of the island once it is finished. :)
