Mapping out one of my areas. Pretty simple!

I have made a few more screens and figured out what to use for the wall hookshot grabs so they don't look awkward like those armos statues being all blocky on the walls... they may be mistaken for arrow triggers when people first come across them, but it'll be obvious for what they are from their placement :) and if people find them too confusing I can alter them to be more obvious that they are grabs.
I'll finish off a few more screens then add in the stars, then I'll post a screenshot of what I have sofar for people to see :)

That's amazing Moosh!

Anyway, as for me, almost zero progress on AQ Redux, other than thinking about how I want to design the next area, which was miserably BLAND and boring. However, now ever since downloading this one MIDI, I'm torn between which one to use for the icy mountain section of the overworld. One is Hiya-Hiya Island from Super Adventure Island II and the other is from Magic of Scheherazade when you're in the future in Chapter 3. Timothy Peters' midi of it is much better than the original IMO.  Anyway, here's the latter's link: https://www.youtube....h?v=vly1_vWxSZo Tell me if you think that would be good to use. The MIDI in my opinion sounds much nicer. With that, now I'm up to three really good ice/snow overworld area music choices. I have:

Super Adventure Island II - Hiya-Hiya Island

Magic of Scheherazade - Winter Theme (Chapter 3 future)

Ristar - Round 5-2 (Ice Scream)

Why must I be so picky about MIDIs?

Why must I be so picky about MIDIs?

Don't worry, I am as well. I recently finally got around to getting alot of the midi's I wanted for my quest. Now though I have to find a good one for this dungeon I'm making...

But I think it's good you are picky on the MIDI's, they are quite important to give the player the proper mood and feeling for the level. If it doesn't fit it won't have the same atmosphere !

I have created cuccoos! they start off without harming Link at all, but you damage them enough and BAM! suddenly it starts spawning cuccoos that fly after you and start attacking you! Unfortunately the original disappears... however you still get attacked by near-immortal cuccoos afterwards!

Also, side question, if you have the flag "doesn't count as beatable enemy" clicked, does that mean that if this enemy is in a room that even if it's still alive when the other enemies are beaten that enemy-dependent shutters and secrets will still trigger?

Edit:
Figured out the flag question ;)

Also, very amusingly I accidentally created a cuccoo cloud of death when editing the cuccoo spawns after killing the original non-leathal one! If it wasn't for the fact that it was a mess and impractical I'd have kept it due to how it made me laugh :XD:

Edit 2:
i submitted my Cuccoo enemy to the EOTM contest because I liked it :)

I made a monster with a grabby arm. Even if I don't get finished with the other planned attacks and cinematics in time for EotM, it still has a god damn grabby arm. And that's something to be proud of.

Last night I finished my first town, without layers. It still needs a lot of work, but the basics are done. And that's awesome! I also finished a chunk of the second village.

Tonight I'm planning another dungeon, and I'm going to work on the field and the second village more. :)

I stopped being lazy and got back on the forums for the first time in forever. Time to work on cleaning up my rusty ZC skills!

I only worked on my town today, unlike the field like I wanted to. But oh well, progress is progress!

I haven't really been doing much over the last week because of school and all that, but I have managed to get just a few screens down for an area in between Levels 2 and 3.

i just lay tiles and import and edit graphic for  a new quest, resulting in needing to have someone make me the subscreen so the items are in the right place, that can be done with just explorting the aligmnet and i put what i need and where, right?  I have a ghost based quest in making.

I did a few screens today, not all too much progress though. I'll post a picture here when I get home and on my computer though.

Finished my first fully scripted minigame. It works wonderful and I eventually didn't even need help.

One thing down, millions of others left.

Outline of Crescent Island. I've began to work a bit on this island, putting detail here and there and making it look like Crescent Island from Ages, but it's actually going to be nowhere close to the original in terms of what's on the island.

(But I must add Tokays, those guys are cool)
