It is indeed a remake of Etrian Odyssey I. Out of curiosity, are you playing classic or story? Also, what's the name of the last area? (Want to make sure we're on the same page here - not sure if things were changed up too much from the original or if the final area is different in story mode or something)

I don't remember the specifics of the first one (I, not too long ago, finished 100%ing the second game, so that's more fresh in my mind. Plus, after finishing EO I, I took a good long break from EO. >_>) but don't you have access to Theriaca BX (or something like that) that cures ailments? I'm pretty sure there's some item that will cure petrification, though I'll say again that I might be thinking of something only in the second game. >_>

As an aside - I'm 1 trophy from getting the platinum in Dangan Ronpa 2. :)

I'm still on Chapter 4. School and Tales of Xillia 2 took up most of my time! :(

Story Mode and I'm in Claret Hollows, mostly having trouble on Floors 27 and lower. As far as that item, there's one called Theriaca B that does that, but I didn't think it worked on Petrification. I'll give it a try if that happens again.

Main issues have been due to Depth Dancers, Evilroots, Red Corpuscles and Leukocytes. Although I may have the Leukocytes down assuming they don't show up outside of Songbirds summoning in the lower floors.

Evilroots blindsiding my party has been a complete party wipe every time. First time I tried to attack, didn't work as they're somehow faster (or their OHKO the entire party move has priority assuming that exists like in Pokemon), the other two times, I tried running and couldn't of course, despite being in the mid 80s. Running just doesn't seem to ever work in this game. If there was an item that guaranteed it, I'd definitely use it even if it cost 100k en each.

Depth Dancers are really annoying as if you start a fight with one, there's generally another one or two that always come in and I can't take on 2-3 of them at once. Especially with the Demon Beaks they use and summoning those Red Corpuscles that can OHKO anyone. I'm trying Ricochet to see if that helps with them, but I'm not sure if it will. I'm hoping Ricochet can OHKO them as Inferno/Cocytus/Thor Formulas aren't able to due to their elemental resists.

Current backlog: Super Mario Bros. 3, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, The Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion, Megaman Battle Network, New Super Mario Bros. U, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario Galaxy 2, 1001 Spikes, La-Mulana, Shovel Knight New Game+, Azure Striker Gunvolt special missions, and honestly probably several others I'm forgetting. And this is with Hyrule Warriors a couple days away and Smash Bros. 3DS a little over a week away...

But right now I've been working at Final Fantasy IV for Steam. It's my first Final Fantasy game, I mean I played a little of VII at my cousin's house many years ago but didn't get too far. IV has been pretty good so far, the story seems good and the characters are cool. I'm definitely getting into it, though I do wish there was more... "life," for lack of a better word, to the world, but it's still done a decent job so far.

I noticed Battle Network on your list. If you're playing the first game, and have never played one in the series before, just be aware that it does a rather poor job at first impressions. I would recommend trying 2 or 3 before making up your mind if you like the series or not. The plot for 2 and 3 goes together into one big story. 4 can be ignored pretty much, it sucks horribly. 5 is really good, considered one of the best behind 3. 6 isn't bad, but not quite as good as 5.

There's also Network Transmission for the GameCube which is pretty fun because of how it interprets the game mechanics into a 2D game that plays a lot like the classic games, but the level design itself is a bit bland. (Basically, imagine if the Classic series had worse level design, but 80-something weapons to use instead of just 8. )

@HylianGlaceon - Best of luck then. Claret Hollows was incredibly difficult in the original, so I can definitely share your pain there. >_< I really hope they changed the boss up a bit at least, because I honestly though it . was pretty BS in the original. I won't get into specifics on it though. If you want some tips (in general, I mean), I can try my best with what I recall from the original and hope they didn't change it too much. :P

Got the platinum trophy for Dangan Ronpa 2! :D Now to finally start Layton vs Wright! Gonna be fuuuun! :)

I guess getting all the Monomi items was the hardest part of getting the Plat right? I'm having a hard time getting a perfect in a class trial. I might need to lower the difficulty to kind.

Yeeaah...I wouldn't say it was, strictly speaking, hard; just annoying and time consuming. There's an item that increases drop rates of items, so that was nice at least. >_< What didn't help is that I didn't really like that minigame to begin with, so there's that.

Sounds like I should be expecting it to have 99,999 HP with a move that wipes the entire party, a move that restores it's HP quite a bit and various other BS moves that petrify, bind and summon summoners that summon summoners who summon enemies that OHKO you? That's kind of what I'm expecting at this rate.

And yeah, you kinda fight the boss at the end of Story Mode slightly after finishing Floor 25, so I've fought the core, twice, just in a weakened state. Why you have to kill it twice in the weakened state is beyond me. Once would've been enough. Claret Hollows is kind of postgame in Story Mode, probably because it is so bad that they didn't want people to have to go through it to see the ending for Story Mode.

My goal right now more or less is to level everyone to 90, TRY to get to Floor 30, since I've heard you get a mission to raise the level cap to 99 once you step foot there or something. Level everyone to 99, then possibly try the full strength core to see how bad it is.

New Super Mario Bros. U completed. Mostly. I kinda happened upon a shortcut or two, so I skipped a world or two (you can choose to skip one world entirely), but I wanted to get to the end so I could cross it off my list. Someday I'll go back and probably finish it up completely, but for now it feels good to strike a game off my list.

Started playing Mega Man 1. Yeah, I'm finally playing the classic series.

I've only played X1, X2 and X3 out of the whole Mega Man franchise but I think it's about time I get familiar with the classics. Also, yes I need to start somewhere, so MM1 it is lol.

Oh, is it like a FFIV DS port?

FFIV is a good rpg, though, it missed part of their charm and art in 3D. The combat is better in the remake, though. Play the original version someday, if you can.

And be careful in Mysidia, they love you X)

It's sort of a port of the DS version. It's closer to a port of the mobile version, which was already a port of the DS version, but they're more or less the same version. I do quite enjoy the combat system, it's pretty unique. But the Mysidia visit... that was amusing. Cecil deserved pretty much all of that. :heh:
