This quest will be good. I have the first half of the game (Yes, I refuse to call them quests anymore)

But that map looks good man, I think you will need to look for a replacement for that "carpet", otherwise it's fine.

Ohh, that makes sense :\

And yes. The block thing in the middle is supposed to be a big fountain, but I can't find one.
I was also thinking of making a river through town. Could this work?

Edit - Found a fountain!

Yeah, that was a mistake, I meant to put game xD

Lol, you mispelt Hyrule icon_xd.gif.

Not to complain about, but I've got a few crits to hand out:

1st screen: Your seashore is quite empty; a few mountains at the top of the screen would do it nicley, which would also solve your open corner issue.

2nd screen: The pebbly ground clashes style with the rest of the screen, other than that, it works nicley or classic.

3rd screen: Standard Z1-style cannon. It can do with a less diagonal mountain slope near the bottom of the screen.

I would like to recieve comments on this screen from The Lost Kingdom DX:

IPB Image

This screen has a very diffrent purpose from the orignal; it was the screen where you could go right and you'd be one screen south from the Ocean of Peril. In this version; it still has the cave, but it is the screen next to Ganon's Cult.

Orin, while I think it's a pretty good screen the mountains are really boxy. I'd make them quite a bit curvier. Other than that though I wouldn't change much.

It certainly doesn't look bad, but its a tad empty!

I think the problem is that its such a wide area, and there's only so much you can do with a castle. If you're using 2.10 I can understand the need to make it larger than desireable, because of the 1 tile warp per screen limit, but if you're in 2.5 making it smaller is much easier. Maybe try compacting the map a little unless you really need it to be that large? There's some screens there that would look quite nice, but a lot of it is just empty space.

I'm using 2.5.
And it really DOES need to be large, because it's a big part of the kingdom.
Can you recommend any ideas? icon_smile.gif

I would like to recieve comments on this screen from The Lost Kingdom DX:

I got one main suggestion. Ya know those tiles of grass growing out of the cliffs? I'd add some to those cliffs on the right side of the screen to break the monotony. Other than that, it looks good. You're definitely getting a lot better at screen design.

This is a really nice screen on the left side, but those mountains on the right side look...unnatural. Try to make them look bumpier if you know what I mean.

Lynker, one major thing I would like to point out is that those stone path tiles have variation for a reason. They don't look very good used as just a solid floor. Add the cracks and paths provided! Add other types of houses, using walls as houses looks kind of weird. They are meant to be fairly square and to outline areas, or at least how they look best to me. So i suggest you smooth out the walls to make them more squared, add ground detail, add real houses, and then post the updates.
In the classic screens I have to agree with Orin and Ica. Your handmade tiles clash. In classic there are no outlines, black is only used for shadows as far as I have seen. Same complaint with the Link sprite, although its not yours. I don't think it would look right without outlining the whole tileset.

Tried to make a new pallete for a central graveyard in my classic quest and it crushed my inspiration entirely. I'll post some new screens when I make them but it annoys me when I can't get things perfect... get back to you guys later.

Well, i'm not really going for a completely classical style quest. I mean, those screens are from the overworld, in which i try to use as much as classic, but in the rest, i use classic together with my own tiles, which are inspirated mostly by the other tilesets. So yeah, i use black out lines sometimes icon_razz.gif

Lynker, i agree with Kollow knight, i mean, you dont see towns like that around, do you?
