The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I've got high hopes for Skyloft being a hubworld. I'm not thinking it'll be too much like Super Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy, but rather, painting (yeah, yeah, forgive me) Hyrule as a massive world too big to explore solely on foot, or at least saying that Death Mountain to Lake Hylia can't be reached within a couple minutes. It also implies that could be a good bit of action going on in the air. I mean, it better, implying the first friggin' word of the game's subtitle.
Also, concerning now that Zelda herself has been confirmed, and that there was a harp in the previous trailer... I wonder if this'll have any indication of the origin of the Sheikah. Just a thought.
@TS: A Roc is a type of bird in certain mythologies.

It already has

It is. You will be able to explore it, in a sense like Wind Waker.

Regardless, the whole idea of riding a massive bird to explore might surpass my love of boats and trains. That's pretty intense, yo.

And even then I can't even play it because I know no one with a DSi or 3DS -__-;
The villain guy has been revealed!!!

His name is Ghirahim. Sounds like Agahinm. (?)

On a side note, I'm kinda glad they're being fairly tight-lipped. The less they show, the better, at least to me. I don't want this to turn into another TP experience where the game they released was not the game I was waiting for (i.e. way too many things from early trailers being dumped).

But despite his feminine characteristics, he still looks pretty bad ass.

What I'd like to see, is Ghirahim pulling out some kinda transformation (dare I say) "jutsu" and become SUPER badbutt. He looks a lot more fierce in the trailer in either case.
I have to say, I LOVE the character design in this game. Sure, a bit strange, but I'd definitely take strange over normal any day. Like, that girl that is cooking in Skyloft at the beginning of the trailer. Or, Zelda herself! I love Zelda's design. Can you tell? (looks at new avatar. It's not weird having a girl as an avatar for a guy, right? You all know I'm a male? Eh, ah well.) I also love Link's design. Sure, his lips are a bit dark. But, it's so much more original and filled to the brim with personality-- you can't help but remember him, whether you like him or not. Same goes with Ghirahim. Same goes with those funky Rocs. Same goes with the Monmas. And with Phi. Heck, with everything about the game! I applaud Nintendo. If only the release date was in July like my dream fortold...

Well... while I have to agree that air transportation is pretty awesome, I should also mention that it isn't anything new. A giant bird would essentially be the addition of an "airship" to the Zelda franchise, which has all the potential virtues and pitfalls of other games that have had the same.
The plus side is that flying is fun, and easy access to various areas can be convenient.
The downside is that it can be TOO convenient. It could lead to simply "teleporting" to the next relevant area without encouraging you to enjoy the overworld properly, if not designed well.
Some very important issues are where the bird can land, where it can fly, and (since it's a creature) where it can be called. There HAS to be a reason to go some places on foot, or else overland travel will not be what it once was. I would rather not see another Wind Waker, where the new mode of transportation dominates all travel in the entire game. It worked in Skies of Arcadia (since that game was clearly designed for it), and it's okay in LoZ: Spirit Tracks, but seriously: wandering the open fields and traversing the entire overworld on foot is something that I've considered one of the most fun aspects of the Zelda series. When games like Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks take that away, I have less fun. In my eyes, the more open exploration Zelda games have -- preferably without constant point-to-point "teleportation" -- the better.
Personally, I'm hoping for the best. As with any other Zelda game, proper limitation of the convenient element will counter the problems it might have. In other words, I think you should generally be required to explore places the slow way before you are given freedom to access them the quick-and-easy way (in this case, by air).
Also, being required to earn your mount has been a staple in the series, even in games where Link sorta starts off with the mount. In TP you begin with Epona, but you can't access Hyrule Field (and beyond) with her until you complete a certain quest.
That said, I'm not sure whether it's realistic at this point, but I DO hope Epona is in this game. For me, Epona exemplifies the overland travel element that I like so much. I don't mind multiple modes of travel. That has worked well in RPGs for years, and it can work well in Zelda too (to a certain extent), even though Zelda isn't an RPG series. (No, it isn't.)
Of course, if Epona is in this game, there's no way you'll start out with her. Being as Link starts off in the sky, any overland travel would have to be specifically turned into a necessity, because of the temporary loss of your bird or whatever.
In any case, I'm still quite looking forward to this. I know I normally take the stance of "delays are good; it means they aren't halfassing it and cutting dungeons"... but nevertheless, I am anxious to get this game. Especially because I can't afford to get a 3DS and OoT 3D, but I have a Wii already and a gift certificate I'm saving for SS, so it'll likely be the only Zelda title I can get right at release for a long while.
(Come to think of it, the only other Zelda titles I've been able to nab at release were WW and TP... pretty much everything else I've had to wait for, sometimes for years

As for how I think it's going to work is rather difficult for me to explain right... I just see it being somewhat balanced, I suppose. I mean, let's go ahead and assume that there's more than just Skyloft up in the air, and let's go ahead and assume you can't just land anywhere you want, y'know? I'm sure they'll figure out a solid way to get it down. I don't have all the answers, and that's why my quest doesn't have a flying mount for Link.

Also, here's an extended version of the boss fight Lynker posted. It shows the cutscene before the fight. Ghirahim doesn't seem to be as insanely evil or power hungry as past Zelda villains. I'm guessing there'll be some depth behind him. Like, maybe-not-even-Big Bad depth.
Two other things of note: that heart container looks pretty awesome, and I never thought I'd see the phrase, "I promise up front not to murder you. No, I'll just beat you within an inch of you life!" in a Nintendo game.

So many shout-outs... It's like SS is a compilation game in a way. Just with a new story that's not cliché. Interesting. Getting more antsy by the day...
