If I remember, that's the one where you click all four sides and make sure the room is flagged for a triforce room...

Well, here's the starting screen of Adam's Quest 1 in its original 1.92 format compared to it remade in a different tileset in 2.50, marking the first time that I used a tileset other than Classic. OMG REDMAGEADAM DIDN'T USE CLASSIC TILES! THE WORLD'S COMING TO AN END! Anyway, in the Hero's Cave, I decided that instead of how it was in 1.92 with the bottomless pit room, I would have it drop you harmlessly into the room below with a shadow effect of the walkway from beneath. Originally, I made the pit such that it would Direct Warp you to an identical map where the pit was a "Damage 1/2 Heart" combo that had a timed warp set for 1 tick that put you back at the entrance of the pit room. This time, I decided on a slightly different approach.

 

Anyway, here's a compare and contrast of the starting screens of the original and the remake. Also, when I took the screenshot of the remake, I forgot to set the warp into the Hero's Cave dungeon.

I look at that screen mod, and all of a sudden I feel....so...cold.....did it snow?

Level 6 is about 80% done. The hard part is done! Making sure my gimmick works correctly was no easy task. Level 6 will probably be a contender for one of the most complex dungeons in my game. That includes what I have planned for Level 7, 8, and 9. Here is a picture of an early draft of the first floor of my dungeon to get an idea on what you will get yourself into.

I have now started the layout to my tower... afterwhich I realized I never created the under-tiles I was going to have... so tomorrow I'll be working on those (which hopefully won't take long) and start with the creation of the tower itself!

Did you set it in the editor as an "Equipment Item"? You have to check that box in order for it to appear. Also, I'm not sure if you're able to have level 0 items in the inventory. I'll leave that for someone more knowledgeable.

 

EDIT: Level 0 items don't appear.

Well, AQR is doing nicely. Just got done translating level 2 into Koten. I made some effort to make it require a bit of backtracking and it teaches you about something you'll need to know the rest of the game. Ultimately, you knock out the mini-boss for the dungeon item, backtrack to interact with an object that your new item was needed for to collect the Boss Key, then going to the end to face the boss, which is different than what it was in the original. Also, a certain gimmick is going to stay in level 2. Thankfully, said gimmick won't be as painful. It does feel nice being able to take something boring, stale and outdated and add a few things to revive it.

Started making new hint tiles for the next two dungeons. Right now they are too obvious if I use them, I'll have to keep altering them still until I get that nice subtle look without getting missed when you are looking for them ;) If I get them right and people like them, I may add them in previous dungeons an maps to help give indications of something special that can be done somehow. :)

Began working on my next GBC quest, which I did say would be hidden, but after thinking I'm deciding to reveal it. The quest project will be revealed when I get more work on it as right now I just started.

 

I'm also going to be getting some sprites coming through at some point in the future, so any screenshots I may show off will have sprites or NPCs which are not final.
