The 60 seashell reward isn't really that great, probably not worth it for most players (unless you don't mind using a guide). What it gives you is...

I finally found all of the Seashells. It really wasn't that great of a reward, because I had maxed out several times. Meaning, after I hit level 8 on my Attack, Magic, and Life...I leveled up several more times. So when I finally found all 60 of the Seashells, on my next level up I was already at level 9 on everything. This shouldn't be the case. I should still be on level 8 after I collect all of the Seashells, and have to work again to level up to 9. I'm sure some people out there found the Seashells before ever reaching that high so it wasn't an issue.

Actually, that's how it's supposed to work- it adds one level in each stat. So if you were at, say, level 6 in everything, it would automatically go up to 7 in everything (plus giving you a new maximum of 9). Still, the single level doesn't make much difference.

Also, once you're levelled up to max, getting a levelup will give you a free 1-up doll (if you're missing any). And any time you select Life or Magic, it fills that bar immediately, too.

Great quest! Loving it so far and am considering it a top 5 personal favorite quest on my list. That being said, does anyone know where I can find the Leve 2 Beetle? I can't seem to get any farther in the Parrappa Palace without it...

The Level 2 beetle is not needed for Parapa Palace, but it can be found in...

Spoiler

I can think of two places it might seem like you need it. For the first, you simply want to double jump with the Beetle to get it up higher (someone in the Town of Rauru hints about this, I think). For the second, you need a different item from later in Parapa Palace, namely the...

Spoiler

There may also be alternate solutions with other items I didn't think of, though.

Thanks! I kind of got the feeling I probably wasn't executing it right, had something to do with my control scheme (shield and jump were assigned to the same button, so disabling R helped that). Also, are all of the Magic Containers over in Calatia, or is there one stowed away in Hyrule somewhere? I'm also missing an empty bottle to put magic potion in.

You don't need a bottle before you can buy potion. Sorry if I made that confusing! You can just walk right in and buy it. You get the empty bottle as a leftover with the potion, and you only need it in order to carry water for two little sidequest-y things in Hyrule. (Bottled water also restores a tiny amount of life and magic, but it's not much help.)

The magic containers are all in Calatia. There's a list of them in the "Secrets and Guides" section of the support pack if you'd like to look it up, but if you want to find them yourself, I suggest asking the NPCs back in the Town of Forward (the western town in Calatia). I think the one who says it is the old man who shows up by the raft game at night, but it might also be a lady somewhere during the day, I forget. There's also an NPC in the Town of Saria who says exactly how much Life, Magic, and Life Dollhouses you can find in Calatia before coming to Hyrule.

Okay, because for some reason the magic potion doesn't show up in my inventory when I buy it

You need to switch to Zelda. Zelda uses the potion, Link uses the manual life dolls. (ywkls really wanted to be able to manually use the life dolls for some reason.)

That explains the confusion haha. Hate to bother with another question, but I have all the magic containers, 224 Life and the 4 dolls, but the lady still won't let me in the building. Do I need to basically 100% Calatia? I have 15 heart containers and 1 extra heart piece currently

The woman who tells you what you can get from Calatia never lets you in her house, if I"m remembering correctly.

So I'm in the area that opens the 5th palace up, only problem is that my level 2 beetle isn't working on the Switch. Glitch perhaps?

Mostly because I'd forget they existed, use them all up and then die horribly. After the change, this didn't happen.

I think that it requires the superball only, so as to avoid easy exploits such as placing a bomb near it and hitting it through the wall.

Heading to Gannon's palace now. I have all the heart containers and magic, but I seem to be missing one more b button item, one more piece of equipment, and from what I hear the red heart ring. Does anyone remember where that was? I remember seeing it in a shop somewhere but couldn't afford it at the time, resulting in me forgetting the location. : (
