i think there is a perspective problem in your screen

IPB Image

if the wall inclination of the top building is forward, then the wall of the bottom building should incline toward the view.

there is also an weird gray spot near the trunk pile

That grey thing is supposed to be part of it, but...*Checks*
Of course, wrong CSet! icon_razz.gif

And good point, but the tiles don't have that icon_frown.gif

Looks good Lynker! Other than what SpacemanDan pointed out about the corner it looks great.

Also, I think these are the tiles you're looking for.

It seems like the LttP water worked better here, so I changed it back. I think this is what the final screen will be then. All in all, not too has had to be changed. I do think the red fire in the torches made a difference though, and I'm happy Lynker pointed out the problem with the mountain/water transition.

Edit: Thanks Lynker and Russ! ...Can't believe I forgot to say that.

Yeah, guess you are right about the tMC water. I like how the screen eventually turned out. The red fire is a nice touch, I like it better than the blue colour it had first.

Perfect. Nothing to change here maybe get rid of that path that leads into the fence? And maybe another tree? The subscreen is beautiful. Overall terrific job.

One thing to avoid on most screens are open corners. They don't look good because they don't work out correctly due to them being ment for Z3 scrolling. Also, avoid having the fences go like how you have them because the player might be expecting to walk between them. Other than that, it's not bad for a GB screen, and learn to use any layered varaities of some tiles; a missing inner corner tile for a water's edge is not really desirable.

It's quite good. Nice for a GB screen shot. I'd only suggest adding dirt paths because the grass in GB looks incredibly boring with out some kind of transition to another floor tile. And maybe just a few more trees?

I disagree with Keiichi123 here, the footpath tiles look really great, I love how they work so we diagonally and straight. I'd keep them as they are because it looks great. You don't have to make it like every other GB quest that uses dirt paths!

What do you think of this layout so far?
Just so you know, the red will be a carpet icon_razz.gif
I'm working on the top left at the moment, so don't worry about the black and stuff.

Like it? icon_biggrin.gif

The layout is okay. No real point in showing a extremely incomplete map though. Why is there sand on the stone floor and why is it the wrong C-set?
I'm sure it will look much better once there are houses and junk icon_smile.gif

Lol, make sure you read it next time icon_razz.gif And thanks.
This quest will be good. I have the first half of the game (Yes, I refuse to call them quests anymore) already planned.
It will also be long. Hopefully, this one will be done. This one will be great!

I feel like the walls are too natural. The buildings and walls are manmade, so there would be no reason for them to jut out and back in randomly. That would be fine if they were mountains, but not in this case. Also, the waves in the water pools are cut off at certain points, which looks a little weird.

I'm assuming you plan on putting stuff into the big, empty center area as well.
