[The Satellite]

So they showed less of it at this year's E3 than last year, minus some sort of cutscene footage during the orchestrated montage they played at the beginning. Showed Link and some girl flying on birds and the girl falling off and towards a rib sandwich giant maw as though it were about to swallow her (I was hungry, so was the giant creature, give us a break). The girl was blond, but I'd have to see it again to know if it was Zelda or not. Don't think it was. And Link was wearing some other outfit at the beginning, like he has been like in WW, TP, and ST. That's all the info I've seen; there's supposed to be a demo shown on gametrailers at some point. I'll probably edit/bump the thread later if new info's shown.

Okay, so updates.

As we know, it starts off in the sky, and apparently you fly around on birds for like races or some kind of test or something. You're supposed to grab some kind of statues... I forget. Hopefully someone else can explain it. But the demo footage itself was minimal. Though it did include the man speaking on how the entire world was like a dungeon, and it was like a dungeon to get to dungeons, and there would be puzzles everywhere and you might found yourself revisiting old dungeons (though not necessarily because of backtracking). Hopefully someone comes up with an article or something that explains this better than I can, plus I might've missed something, but, there you go.

Alright, looking at that trailer, I'm willing to bet that the girl is Zelda. She has the same hairstyle, has the Hylian Phoenix on her outfit, has blue eyes... It's gotta be her. Just look at her.

So now this just raises all-new ideas and theories related to the origin of the world. And yet, I want to stop making theories and just wait for the game to come out, lol, but I can't stop my brain from working. I wonder if Link and that girl are in a relationship or if they're related. And apparently you get to swordfight that mysterious figure. And I wonder if the birds you ride on are related to the Kargarocs in any way. So many questions... But hey, it's cool that we get to see a little more into the life of Link in the beginning like we did in TP (and to a small extent in WW and a so-small-it's-practically-nonexistent extent in ST). The outfit he wears is similar to the one at the beginning of TP as well. Now to see how they explain the clothing if it is indeed the Zelda to begin all Zeldas...

EDIT: Oh, and the running from the giant lava arachnid thing certainly reminded me of something...

Well, that was cool, and nostalgia-inducing.

This actually invokes a feeling similar to what I felt when I saw the Twilight Princess reveal trailer for the first time. Anyone else getting that same vibe?

Anyway, i'm also willing to think that that girl is Zelda. Notice how she wears dark pink, like Princess Zelda.
I wonder where Link gets his clothes. No, not from that guy, but how? Was it just a tunic made up, and passed on through the generations?

And I love Link's new town suit/clothes. Its very nice!

Eh, I hope that's not Zelda. She looks very, um... to put it bluntly she looks mentally handicapped. A lot of the graphics look like re-textured TP models, too.

That aside, I still have high hopes for this game. I want to know the story behind Mr. Gilded Sword that we got to see at the end. The graphics are nice overall and the music in the trailer was pretty good too.

Here is my theory!

The girl is Zelda. When she gets eaten by that monster thing, she is trapped with it for the whole game.
At the end of the game, Link saves her. In return of it, the people in the now new Hyrule make her the Princess or Queen. Link goes off, living wherever.
And that's how The Legend of Zelda starts!

I have a question though.
If no one has ever been down in Hyrule or wherever, then how do they know they are above the clouds?

And before the video, I thought the whole town was MADE of clouds. The ground, anyway xD

Pink girl is Zelda. If anyone watched Gametrailers demo exclusive demo of it (the one Robin linked to in the E3 topic,) there's a line that appeared saying something like, "You got a bird statue thing! You should go tell Zelda!" They talked about some other things in that demo too, such as how the game will play out a lot more dungeon-like (as in, puzzles everywhere) even when you're not in a dungeon, and made a comment about how the items Link finds will be upgraded (something about finding x items allow the slingshot to become less sucktacular, etc.) Skyloft acts as a hub for the rest of the world, and apparently the game's a lost more open-worlded than past ones, allowing you to fly almost anywhere.

I just wonder why they didn't show the whole trailer during the conference.

Also, Lynker, I question you're theory. If Zelda spent the entire game trapped in the belly of a giant cloud fish, and therefore doing absolutely no politics or leadership, why would the people choose her as their queen? Generally, royalty isn't selected for their super ability to get eaten.

What do you think? I'm glad to finally be able to see what the new character looks like fully, myself. I also think the bird-creatures might be Rocs. You know, as in Roc's Feather.

So, confirmation that it is Zelda, then. Interesting. Now I'm very intrigued for the game's release. And Roc? Well, I always thought Roc was a person. Cuz Roc's Cape. Unless the cape's made of feathers... It's possible. Most birds end in "roc." Kargaroc and Helmaroc for example. So we'll see.
