I too have pre-ordered. I chose SoulSilver.

I am curious, though: I've heard that in Japan Celebi was given away, and that it unlocked a major storyline revelation having to do with your rival and Team Rocket. Now, those of you who are longtime Pokemon fans know: Celebi has thus far NEVER been available outside of Japan. Soooo...Does everyone else just miss out? Or is nothing known yet?

You should, if you own a copy of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum you can get a Fateful Encounter Jirachi, which unlocks an area for the PokeWalker peripheral for HG/SS (in addition to being an all-around solid Pokemon). I got mine.

I didn't preorder, but I plan to buy Heart Gold the day of release, mainly just so that I can get Gliscor (which isn't obtainable in Soul Silver). None of my friends have Emerald, so no dongling for it in Diamond...

But Ebola, what about the new Johto!? It beckons for you! The Gligar in Mt. Silver can wait ...although I want one too! I couldn't care less about Sinnoh Pokemon, I'm after Johto and Kanto (maybe some Hoeen). G/S/C were my favorite, so I should rip through this no problem . Rematching the gym leaders ought to be funny...

Anyways, I pre-ordered awhile ago. I chose Soul Silver because I've always prefered Lugia, despite the fact that Ho-oh is UBER powerful. Plus HeartGold sounds so corny.

I'm pretty sure it will be given away either by Gamestop of Toys R Us. That's where all the other event activating legendaries for the games have been given out.

Speaking of wifi, Pikachu-colored Pichu is being released over wifi come March 5th! So... for all you guys too lazy to get one at Toys R Us (or was it Gamestop?) a couple months back, you can get one now easy peasy!

Anyhow, I got SoulSilver just 'cause Silver is my favorite precious metal, and the word "soul" really speaks to my, well, soul. Plus, a silver soul is kinda like a pure soul, and that's... just cool, in my eyes. Plus, Lugia learns Aeroblast! (though, Sacred Fire seems pretty much amazing as well...)

That, and my friends will be getting HeartGold, so I need to be their counterpart.

Ya, whatever version your friends get really play into it. Me, my younger brother, and one of my friends are getting HeartGold, and four of my other friends are getting SoulSilver. So we'll have a 3:4 ratio, which is pretty even, but leans slightly in my direction, making it easier for me to get involved in trades for version exclusives, and thus easier for me to finish the Pokedex first. Ya, I plan this stuff out pretty well. I blame economics.

Awesome! I missed the Gamestop event, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it. That's a relief.

Zoroark looks like a riff of skitty/eevee and it's pre-evolution looks like lucardio and lopunny combined together with cat ears. The pool of ideas has been drained out, I guess if they tried to make more unique looking pokemons they would stop resembling anything the human mind could make vestiges out of. I would do that though if I worked at Gamefreak lol
