Ah, good point there. Oh well, its probably going to stay as such and just be a easter egg people hand down to each other from player to player. icon_razz.gif

Well, I went back and began playing this again. On one hand, it is a lot better than I remember. If I could change my rating, I'd probably give it a 4 or something. I don't honestly remember why I gave it a one... Probably in a fit of rage or something.

Anyhow, I was messing around in the Xaagan wasteland (or whatever you called it), and I got that medallion/pendant thing in the cave system. I didn't get this on my first playthrough. What does it do? I don't remember there being any invisible enemies, and there isn't a subscreen spot for it...

In the Master Dome, there're invisible bad guys... icon_smile.gif

Guess I'll never play Lost Isle as "intended" with the on shot Windrobes. Oh well.

You can always ask the staff to delete your comment, so you could re-rate it.

As for the windrobes: That's probably a 2.5 bug, which means somebody oughta report it so it can be fixed. icon_razz.gif

There will miraculously be a spot for your pendant when you ENTER the Master Dome, but not before then. icon_wink.gif Until there, it remains an invisible item in your inventory. And glad you're liking it better this time around purplemandown. Maybe it was too high expectations? I find a lot of people are liking the quest more the second/third time around than their initial play.

As I said, I'd give Lost Isle 2.5 a shot on a 2.5 build. Here's some stats from what I've noticed.
  • The intro text seemed to "jump" down a bit when it first displayed. If it was supposed to be smooth, it did not look like it.
  • Similarly, the up and down doors in the first dungeon just "disappeared" when unlocked at first, but then were smooth thereafter. The left-right doors did not have such an issue.
  • During my (short) time in Vashington Flows, I'm sure I saw a grasp/like like go THROUGH one of those purple tree's trunks. It came from the top down.
  • Perhaps ironically, I think the animation for the sound stones disappearing was smoother in this version than before.
  • I have only died 2-3 times so far, with 11 HCP collected before I'm about to buy the special scroll and enter level 2. I'm roughly where DFW was in her developer walkthrough, Part 11.

Well...here's to hoping that the Pols Voice equivalents are actually at their normal speed and not double time. (Doubt it.)

Anyone beat it yet? I want to be sure you can get through it all in one piece.

Yep. I beat it. But I couldn't whoop those windrobes in the MD. Enjoyed it immensely! (again!) icon_biggrin.gif

Okay, then I can officially call it a good conversion to 2.5! icon_biggrin.gif

Well, since Windrobes really aren't a REAL player in the game other than in the Master Dome, I can probably safely leave them in as is. Its not a game-breaking bug. That and when I look at them in the editor, they already say 1-shot! O_o
Regardless, as for the Master Dome, it wasn't meant to be found easily. In fact, it was supposed to be a nice easter egg for those who like to experiment. For one, I placed it specifically where it is now, so that people 'might' become a bit suspicious why this side trail leads to a dead end with a blank, obviously bombable wall. So they go to bomb it, yet nothing happens! So the intent here was to see if the player would be intuitive enough to try testing other items they have, ultimately landing on the Power Rod to open the way into the Master Dome. Considering how the Awesome Arrows are in no way needed to beat the quest, I felt its hiding spot aptly placed.

Not anymore!!! You revealed the secret and the treasure is all miiiiine!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha!!!!!

I have been busy with work, so I didn't have a chance to go through Level 3 yet. I may just end up using the developer walkthrough for that dungeon: I never liked that one.

I am probably at fault for level 3. There was a fateful question Peteo asked me one day: "So just how busted up is this castle supposed to be? Are there holes and cracks all across the floor or did a bomb go off inside the castle?"
I said the latter and well...you see what happened.
