Beat Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Wii U just a few minutes ago. It's not the best game I've played for the Wii U (that would be either Super Mario 3D World or tLoZ: Wind Waker HD), but it sure had some impressive graphics (dat intro and ending scene). But, there's a thing things I didn't and did like:

- The controls for swimming and (especially) rocket flying were skeptical. I never could master them really well.
- There were some occasional scenarios where the game drives you to nowhere but harm or death. You can have as much skill and timing as possible, but you'll end up getting hurt or worse.

- The game pretty much requires you to trial and error a lot, with no dialogue to explain anything new coming your way.

- The ending felt pretty unrewarding (minus the music), 3D World suffered from this too.

- Worst thing by far: Loading screens! Oh my God, why would you do this to us!? You have to wait 10-30 seconds each time you load/finish a stage, and worst yet, you have to wait twice as much if you press continue on the Game Over screen.

Loading Review... Loading Review... Loading Revi-Loaded!

+ On the plus side of things, it wasn't your overall worst control scheme, some of it was more than really good. And thank God, no gimmicks involved!

+ The difficulty was spot on, I died more than five times, and that's something rare in Nintendo games for me.

+ Fast paced action with a lot of variety. There's always something new at every corner.

+ All the alternative Kongs were great (I find Cranky a little useless, but I'll let that complaint slide).

+ Amazing intro scene to start up the game.

Personally, this game sits on a 3.75/5. It would have been a solid four if I didn't have to wait so much and got to watch a more better ending. With that said - next up, continuing on with Final Fantasy X HD and a replay of Lost Odyssey.

Is Pandora's Tower any good? I loved Xenoblade and hated The Last Story. Pandora's Tower is the last Rainfall game I've yet to play.

Pandora's Tower is more of an action game than an RPG. If you are looking one of very few games that utilizes the Wii Remote and Nunchuck well, Pandora's Tower is one of them.

Xenoblade reigns supreme in my eyes. Last Story was decent, but in no ways worth a full $50.00 pricetag. I'd recommend it when it hits $20.00 or lower. Pandora's Tower is an enigma in a sense. I love it personally, but it is vastly different in depth and scope than Xenoblade. It is like comparing apples to oranges. I like both but for different reasons.

Nearly at the end of FFX HD. I played it on PS2 countless times. I plan on going back and doing all the sidequests after I finish the game, although I'm not sure how far I'll be willing to go considering I've done it all before... Such tedious work. I actually had to have a friend help me with the chocobo race so I could get Tidus' ultimate weapon.

So yeah, 165-ish hours of my life on one save file back in the day, let's see how much I can accomplish before I throw my controller at the TV. However, I will say that I really love that they revamped the music. And the dark aeon battles? Oh man... I walked up to the first one at Besaid just to see what it was like-- I didn't even get a turn in before I was dead. And I have to beat all of them before I can try my luck at Penance? I can tell you this, there will be countless hours of level grinding going on.

I also bought myself Tales of Symphonia on the PS3 so I could play for trophies this time around. I've never played Dawn of the New World, but Johnny Yong Bosch is a VA on there, so that means it's good, right? Right?

OH oh oh, and I just finished Professor Layton's latest game, the Azran Legacy. Wee doggy, did that have a big twist at the end! Suddenly reminded me of a soap opera. It was like, information was revealed... Dun dun dunnn! Oh! And then more information was revealed!! DUN DUN DUNNNN! AND STILL, they had one more thing to throw at you, all within the last five or so puzzles of the game. (Well, the cutscenes, not the puzzles themselves.)

A friend of mine decided to tell me I didn't have what it takes to beat Demon's Souls.

I will prove him wrong.

I've only beat one boss so far. :S I'm still getting used to everything as there seems to be of information to process. @_@ But I will get it! :)

(I've also been slowly picking away at Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. Juuuust started chapter 3. Really liking it so far!

Namco might as well call this version "Tales of Symphonia: Master Quest." It is so much harder than the GameCube version. We're talking about enemies who can OHKO your team with just one spell. And even one arte does a crapload of damage. OMG, with the exception of Pronyma, the Grand Cardinals just seem impossible to beat even on Normal.

And I believe you need a minimum of 4 playthroughs to get the Platinum. You have to choose Colette, Kratos, Zelos, and Genis to get their respected items for the Collector's Book and titles. And then you need to have a playthrough where Lloyd only uses the Wooden Sword until fighting Kilia, not use any Gels until a certain point, not have ANY party member die until fighting the third seal boss, not running away from battle until fighting Yuan, and fighting Rodyle underleveled.

Oh, did I forget to mention that getting Kratos to rejoin your team now requires affection? If you turn down 2 people at Flanoir, you are always locked to the 3rd person. Be sure you don't get Kratos angry.

And I'm going to say this right off the bat, I believe DotnW is the worst Tales game I have ever played. It felt very rushed (from a developer's standpoint), the story is not interesting, and Emil is such a wimp. I hope you like JYB's high pitched voice and Laura Bailey's normal voice (she doesn't even try to alter her voice in this game as opposed to her role as Cheria in Tales of Graces f).

Azran Legacy is so fantastic! I certainly hope you've played the others, otherwise the ending is not nearly as gratifying.

Just finished an excellent and very underrated NES platformer titled "Gimmick!"

Some of you might have seen it's ridiculous Scandanavian box art and assumed it to be bargain bin fodder, but ohhhh you'd be so wrong in that respect. Arguably the most intelligent platformer I've ever played, everything is just perfect. The difficulty is Nintendo Hard but never feels like a turnoff (I beat it in about 4 hours), the physics are unparalleled and the graphics are jaw-droppingly amazing. But sadly, it's a short, compact experience at only 6 levels. But did I mention I've never played an NES platformer enemies THIS intelligent? They'll ceaselessly chase after you, leaping across gaps and following you through the level. They'll jump over your bouncing star shots but dash after you if you aim over them. They'll fake out attacks and block yours. They'll run after you if you attack their buddies (even if you miss!). And that's really only half of it. If you ever get the chance to play this game, you won't regret it. It's easily the most polished NES platformer I've ever played. Or any platformer, taking into consideration the NES's limits.

Absolutely! :) I started following before the prequel trilogy started, so I've had a good chance to get caught up and all that. :3

You know, I'm at the final boss battle (going back to try and get more grade) but I didn't have a hard time with the other bosses. I remember it being much harder, but I was also a lot younger when I played it. I was happily able to get Kratos to rejoin my party, but then I'm looking at some of the trophy stuff and I absolutely NEED Zelos for a lot of the titles, so I foresee another playthrough in my future. I probably will not attempt the platinum trophy on this game, though. I mean, not having anyone die until you fight the third seal boss? Genis and Raine drop like flies in boss battles... But they're so necessary to the party.

I will give DotnW a good chance, mostly for trophies, but we shall see. Hah.

I always make my Kratos playthrough my multiple EXP playthrough. The EXP multipliers will surely make the Friendship title and the No Gels title a lot easier. I also remember that I always do all the Zelos events before going to the Tower of Salvation after Flanoir that way Kratos can get Last Fencer and get a second Seles battle. But that Rodyle title is gonna be tough. D:

Took a bit of prep work, but I took a ROM of Ocarina of Time, applied a realistic HD texture pack, and connected a PC controller as well as an HDMI cord to connect it to an HD TV.

I'll tell you what. You guys can keep your 3DS remake, this ended up pretty damn cool by itself. Now I've got to get around to finding that program that can apply shaders to the emulator to add a slight bit of a bloom effect or something to try and create the illusion of better sunlight, and hook the whole mess up to the big screen TV in the living room instead of my slightly-larger-than-monitor sized TV in my bedroom.
