That is a shortcut to get down from the mountains you have find the switch to open that.

Been wandering around level 5 for 2 hrs now. Went through 3 water levels and can't find the hammer.

The hammer is in the stairway (or a lock block if have not used a key on it) the raises and lowers with the changing water level and is blocked off by a gate that needs to be opened by a switch.  Have you made it to the tunnels yet?

You need to make the most of your hookshot to get to the top of level five. I believe there are keys available when the water level is at its lowest.

So much posting while I was gone. Glad to see you all are enjoying the quest. ^_^

 

And, yes, zckrazee, there was a LOT of testing done on this quest. I was the fish man's guinea pig for the majority of it. I went through each dungeon at least three times each (on top of his dozens) and found tons of new bugs that simply never occurred on his playthroughs. There are still some bugs that we just can't get rid of due to the nature of the program, but they aren't anywhere near game breaking.

 

Anyone make it to the final boss, yet? ^_^

I think i'm missing something. In level 7 i have 4 keys and wand but not that magic book. also i think i need better arrows. I have metal arrows.

I take it you found the gohma? Have you tried using something other than arrows on it? You DID get the wand in the dungeon.

I just started level 7… looking for the rest of the wand. All I have is a stub...

Well, the stub activates melee wand switches. Just about all of the wand assembly has been covered in this thread. Good luck on the search. ^_^

Falling into holes is actually a very important mechanic. The holes place the player one level down on the same tile as above. For example, those three holes there will take you to three different locations in the room underneath.

 

 

Ok… I have taken the time to read back… still having a bit of trouble getting my wand upgraded.

 

It is no longer a stub… It will now shoot projectiles. However, I can't seem to activate the torches in various rooms with it.

 

I currently have 2 keys. And have fallen down all 3 holes shown in the pic here. The top one took me to the wand upgrade, the bottom on took me back to the floor underneath… and the right one sends me back down to the basement… Not sure what I need to do next...

The torches are activated with the book, the last wand upgrade. I also explained how to get to that just today. ^_^

I haven't found the Gohma…. I also have less keys than deme.

 

Im also stuck in the entrance area… Haven't found the brick that needs to be pushed onto the switch.
