It's pretty amazing how they've been able to have things keep going after the world almost ending. They somehow managed to turn the dial down yet still generate a lot of interest.

Maybe it's just a myth that you have to follow every piece of entertainment with something bigger. I think we'd be fine going back to the days of superheroes just saving their own cities.

It's not that spectacle creep is bad, but the entertainment industry would be better off if everyone understood that spectacle is only meaningful if it can reach an apex. Spectacle is meant to be the release for everything that built up to it. That's literally it's entire reason for existing. By continuing to increase the spectacle incrementally with time, you essentially forego any release and instead the spectacle creep becomes a never-ending build-up. And at that point, the spectacle becomes worthless. Build-up without release is as meaningless as release without build-up.

I just finished season two! The finale was so freaking amazing.

Avatar has got to be one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Today's episode was awesome, but not quite as much as last week's, but still really awesome.

Is everyone else with me that Prince Wu is obnoxious?

Wu needs character development. Fast. As far as the ending of the episode...

I have a theory about Varrick:

He's the Cave Johnson of the Avatar world. And Zhu Li is Carolyn/GLaDOS...

If you just gave him Tenzin's voice...

...Absurd prediction: Varrick will make a portal gun.

Finally dug into book 4, and I've gotta say

Spoiler

They're like identical twins. Seriously, line them up side by side, I couldn't tell one from the other. Saw some fan art of them together, thought I was seeing double.

Today's episode was interesting. Puts a good spin on flashback episodes. I was a little disappointed at first, but then...

True, but that part was when I first burst into outrageous laughter.

It wasn't a recap episode done by choice, it seems. Damn it Nick... well, they did what they could, can't blame them that it's no Ember Island Players. The last part was great, but the beginning was... eh.

Yeah, I read about it directly from them, they either had to do a clips episode or drop several members of the staff, several weeks before they finished.  If anything, I thought it was pretty good for a clips episode, they were apparently inspired by Samurai Champloo, which did a clips episode in a similar style where the characters made fun of the flashbacks.  And yeah, like everyone else, I was in stitches over Varrick's fanfiction.  One of his best moments in the entire series, if you ask me.

Nickelodeon is just full of idiots. They cancel all the wrong shows and cut funding from the ones that deserve it most. And then they milk Spongebob to death.

I get that it's a money/popularity thing, but still, it's frustrating that the actually good stuff rarely ever becomes popular. Freaking sheeple.

EDIT: all things considered, they did a pretty good job at the episode.

Nickelodeon appears to have basically become the SquareEnix of cartoons - in charge of a ton of wonderful IP but unable to make a single good decision with it.
