Yeah that's exactly what it is, Its pretty good though, and also already met my doom in the river a few times... those crocodiles are relentless.

Haven't really played the game much since last night, my older brother has gotten addicted to game.

So pretty much I'm back to having nothing to play... Really wish I find a decent game to play.

If Ventus only had a PS3....:P j/k

Got my FFX/X-2 HD Remaster. This is gonna be fun.

I've never played a Metal Gear Solid game before, but have heard absolutely nothing but good things about the series, so yesterday I started playing Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

The controls are a touch awkward, and they never actually explain what buttons do what (For God's sake, if you're going to say to use the "Action Button", TELL ME WHAT THE ACTION BUTTON IS!!!), but it's somewhat enjoyable. I'm not very good at it, but since the closest thing I've played before was the predator sequences in the Arkham series, I suppose I'll keep going and see if it gets better as I improve.

Out of curiosity, I watched the Super Gaming Bros' LP of the original version of the game up until they got to the point I had gotten (the guy I'm meant to save gives me a Level 1 key card and has a heart attack), and I've got to say that the original version almost looks better than the GameCube one. I mean, it appears to be easier to move around (my controller has an extremely sensitive control stick, so it's hard to move silently), the guards disappear when killed instead of me having to look for a safe place to hide the bodies, and while I haven't played the original version, it appears that the controls are a touch more easy to use. The graphics obviously aren't as nice, but I find PS1/N64 style graphics rather endearing in a nostalgic sort of way.

I haven't gotten very far, so I have to ask. Would I be better off abandoning my Twin Snakes playthrough and switch to the original version via emulator and PC controller, or should I stick to the version I've already started? If anybody here has played both versions, would they mind telling me which one they preferred?

Managed to make a Super-Alice with 286 in magic in Shin Megami Tensei 4.  Shame that even with Doping, her HP can't get past the 600's...  Fighting the DLC bosses is a pain...  At least all my demons have Repel Phys and Drain Gun...

Huh... Okay then. Maybe I'll give the real game a chance, but I dunno. I'm not a big fan of JRPGs anyways; generally there are just a few that really grab me, and this one doesn't seem to. Issues or not with the demo, the battle system's just kinda... really basic.

You're right, but the the music is exceptionally good.

Coming from a big JRPG fan like me, I can definitely say that I'm not too fond of Bravely Default's battle system. It's as basic as a typical JRPG battle system gets. It's for the most part FFIII DS's battle system with the ability to use "Brave" (take up turns) and "Default" (Save up turns for later). Gameplay-wise, you are playing Bravely Default for the Jobs system which the hallmark of the game. It's the same type of Job building system from FFV.

I thought it was interesting because you could get abilities and moves from one class but you didn't have to forgo them for the sake of another class.  FFV's customizing wasn't really that impressive to me, honestly, so I never understood why people were trying to make it out to be, but with this, you have a number of slots for abilities and moves, so you can really have completely diverse characters, mixing and matching your favorite features of different classes.  Also, you say it's pretty basic, but then you play Pokemon, too, which I've never really saw as an incredibly complicated RPG either.

Only the metagame is complicated.  With specific EV training for surviving specific attacks from a specifically built pokemon can get pretty complicated quickly.  However, if you're just playing the game by itself, it's pretty easy.

Yeah I can see where you are coming from regarding V. I remember my playthrough, I didn't really have fun with the Job system until I got the Mime class. :P Good thing this game fixes that and your reasoning is why the Job system is so great is the cash crop of the game. But when it comes to battles, I can't really say much. I'm not a fan of FF1, 2, or 3's  classic turn based battle system in which this game's battle system is based on. I prefer ATB in FF games. The battle system is not as innovative and complex as games like Shin Megami Tensei IV's high risk high rewards battle system and even Radiant Historia's grid layout battle system. For the most part. I just spammed Brave and just ATK or strike the enemy's weaknesses until the enemy is defeated over and over again. Spamming Brave and entering separate commands can get tedious really quickly for me especially when grinding. But when I fight bosses, that where it requires a strategy. That's where I need to think whether to save up turns or to go all out. In other words, the battle system works well for boss battles, but not so much for normal battles.

I've been playing Thief Gold for some time now, finally progressing, but slowly because it's scary. :(

Which segues into this: Right now, there's a promo to get it free on Amazon!  http://thiefmodcompetition.com/  I highly recommend it!

You gotta have your donuts! Aoi, Mondo, and Kyoko are my 3 favorite characters in that game.

Well, I'm attempting to play two main games right now. During the day, I'm playing Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Considering the main way I'm taking down guards is through neck-breaking, it doesn't seem to be much of an issue playing it in front of the little kids. (The fact that I walked by Alex earlier today and saw him sitting perfectly still with a small box over his head was pretty funny. Considering he has a bad habit of imitating games and anime, I think I should play MGS more often if it means he'll behave when given a box now.) I just finished the torture sequence without surrendering, and I'm having to work my way back to the communications tower. At least I got to pick up the goodies I missed the first time, like the Thermal Goggles and Gas Mask.

During the night, I'm trying to play F.E.A.R. for the first time. I'm no good at FPS games at all, and I happened to have a copy of the game from a Humble Bundle sale (It came with the Batman games), so I'm trying to teach myself to some FPS skills so I can get into the genre. There's so many of them, and several of them look somewhat interesting, so I'd like to see what the main appeal is. If I'm going to be a decent game developer, I've got to learn more about the different major genres and what works/doesn't work well with them.

However, since my only computer at the moment is a laptop with a touchpad, I'm trying to figure out a decent way to map the controls to my gamepad. I finally got around to downloading XPadder, since the default binding option is very poorly done, and trying to get it set up the same way the console versions of the game are set up. I know most people say that the only way to play these are with a mouse/keyboard, but I simply don't have that option. FPS games seem to do well on consoles, so a gamepad can't be THAT bad of a way to play it. Besides, this way I can play console FPS games just as easily.

---

On a completely unrelated note, I just got myself a cup of "coffee" for the night. It's something called "Teecino" that I found laying around. Tastes like drinkable trail mix. I guess it's not bad, if you like trail mix.

Well I hit up gamestop today looking for something to play and I picked up two games, the first one is "Record of Agarest War: Zero" And the second game is "Viva pinata"

I have no idea what the first game even is except its a tactical rpg on the 360 and the other game is a cutesy sim type of game.

And also Got me "Eternal Sonata" for the 360 ordered should be here in a few days. (Payed the $8.50 Shipping for 2 day shipping).

Anyways I've got something to play even through I don't understand how some things work in Agarest War. <.<

Edit: Also got me 120GB hard drive for my 360 arcade unit which by the way I spiffed it up by making it look cool :P

You can see it here, I need to get another faceplate where I can do a better job with the foil tape.

Time to actually play through again and FINISH Skyward Sword. I had gotten to the last level but got tied up with something else for a while and eventually forgot. It's a really good game and I wasn't pulled away from it for being bad or anything.

Also Minecraft. TOO MUCH MINECRAFT.
