they've got their first DVD release coming out next month.

Third. The first two were Celebration at Canterlot, containing Episodes 3 and 14, and Adventures In Ponyville which contained Episodes 10, 16 and 23. (Dunno which came first though) There was also the DVD which only had Episode 3, but you couldn't buy that on it's own, it came bundled with some of the Fashion Style and Playful Ponies toys.

I meant their first LEGITIMATE release. For individual sale. >_> You know, the kind that COUNTS.

All of their DVDs have come bundled with toys so far. This is the first one you can buy on it's own.

Wait are we talking MLP FiM? Or some previous Generation of MLP? I have no idea why they would be bundling random individual episodes not in any particular order.

FiM, yes. I don't really know why either. I guess to make more money? I dunno. Although, to be fair, the episodes in the Adventures in Ponyville DVD weren't entirely random. The episodes on that were all the Season 1 episodes written by M. A. Larson. No idea why they done that.

Look at it from their perspective: they've got their first DVD release coming out next month. Who the hell is going to pay for a DVD of the episodes when they're all free online (and, if I might add, in HD)?

Who still uses DVDs? Who still uses blueray even? The internet replaced all that s***.

DVDs are a way to support the official release. I don't know if you've noticed, but the bulls*** quality of their toys right now is going to sink the entire My Little Pony franchise before Season 3 can even debut. Unless they can generate a s*** ton of revenue off DVDs, MLP will be losing them money.

It's true. And, honestly, I don't know how many people will want to advertise during a girls' TV show, seeing as how notorious they are for being terrible.

As long as they don't take down the episodes that aren't yet available in DVD format, I'm fine with this.

Every episode to date is available on the iTunes store, though, so technically we could all support the official release if we wanted to. And before you say nobody buys stuff from the iTunes store, I'd like to point out that I have purchased every episode iTunes store. EqD has been pushing for people to do so ever since PonyArchive got shut down for copyright infringement. If I were you I'd take EqD's advice.

But then I'd have to use iTunes, which isn't actually an option on Linux.

I exited the Pony closet to my mom today. Man, it felt as though it were more awkward than if I were gay; that's not something I would be required to justify. I showed her the scene of Fluttershy cleaning Twilight Sparkle's house, to show her the humorous side of it. I had thought that I would receive nothing more than a mediocre reaction, but she actually liked it; she wants to watch it. I know not if I am happy, surprised or confused.

I've also discovered a promising candidate for conversion. His only reason for not watching the show is that he knows he will like it, and I managed to get him to do a brohoof.

This is the greatest thing.

@Beefster, That's not Hasbro's fault though. Point is, it's their copyrighted material, they're earning a significant profit off it and you can't blame them for getting PO'd when people distribute it freely.

Don't worry people, it will always exist somewhere on the internet. That being said, Hasbro is responsible for taking them down; therefore also to blame (the two words are roughly synonymous, despite having separate connotations), and fault is nothing but a matter of perspective (it essentially means an imperfection). But really, it is still their legal right to take them down, despite how much I or any other person may dislike it.

I'm getting him to promise not to pause whatever video I send him, then I'll send him Fluttershy's looping "Squee!" video.
