I finally started working on the mountains in my quest again today... I seriously have a hate-on for them for some odd reason...
What did you accomplish in ZC today?

Quite a bit: I got plenty of screenshots to choose from, I play tested with as much as I could think of, and I fixed any errors I've found. Almost ready for the expo!

Started replaying my secret quest project from the beginning. Now is the time to squish and destroy all the bugs!
Edit: In addition to the above, my secret quest project is now completed! I played through the whole thing and everything seemed to work. However, I won't upload this onto PureZC JUST yet, I'm sending it to a friend first so that he can Let's Play it.

@SkyLizardGirl: Hey, just some feedback regarding the first screenshot: The perspective looks off if you use those blocks that look like faces/heads on the east, west, and south walls. Unless you want to find a way to rotate those accordingly, I'd advise to stick with the other blocks; the blocks that have what looks like 8-point stars on them look fine at any of those angles because they're symmetrical.
I was messing around with draw functions today when this happened.

No, it's not supposed to look like that.
Freakin' awesome, dude! I'd like to see that in action! ![]()

More bad ideas are flowing through my mind. All I did was talk to Eddy on Skype, asking if any official Zelda game had a negative Rupee and then I was told about the Rupoor. Pretty much, everything has become one for me. It also is tempting me to implement negative bomb/arrow ammo pickups. Yeah, don't think that's going to sit too well with most people. The Rupoor maybe. But having bomb and arrow pickups that steal them is going too far.
In other news, everything is going well with the mini-quest. I have level 3's map drawn out and have level 2's progression chart figured out. By progression chart, I mean something like this:
Key -> Dungeon Item -> Key -> Key -> Dungeon Item 2 -> Key -> Boss Key
So in short, the first part of the sample dungeon would be to get a key, which gets you the dungeon item needed to find the next two keys. Those lead you to the second dungeon item, which leads to the fourth key and finally the Boss Key. It helps me design dungeons so I avoid situations where the player can end up in an unwinnable situation just because he/she used his/her keys in the wrong order, and it also helps me make dungeons a bit less linear. So maybe three rooms in, you find water you need the Stepladder for. You go 2 rooms away, get a passageway, find a key 3 rooms later, go back a few screens to a locked door, progress a few more rooms for the dungeon item, backtrack to the water blockade and so on and so forth. I don't think I've had a dungeon since working with 2.5 it's possible to get perma-stuck thanks to using this system.

Ah yes... the rupoor... Those are annoying to get! There was a quest I played on here that emplored them quite randomly, along with the minus-hearts!
If you want to have something that steals items, why not make a set of custom eating monsters do so? Ooo, or, have a certain colour/type of monster have an item drop assigned to them that has normal items as well as the negative items! That way more experienced players of your quest would know to look out for what they pick up if they see these monsters and it would be something new that players would learn to look out for!
now, for what I have accomplished today is a serious amount of mountain-carving. During which, I have made future plans for not only ideas for this first smaller quest I'm working on, but for my next project idea as well.
That being said, I'll be so much happier once I've finished these bloody things (which keep getting more complex as I work on them as I am convinced every mountain range is cursed to become so the longer you are on them) and can concentrate on level 3 and the rest of the overworld.

I'm not 100% sure if I'm reading this correctly, but my main project does have different colored Like-Likes that each eat something different.
Normal - Your shield
Blue - Your magic
Green - Your Rupees at a rate of about 10 Rupees/second
Water Bubble - Does 8 damage every so often you're inside of it until killed.
The only difference is I have a lack of negative drops. Rather, the Blue Like-Like is guaranteed to drop at least a small jar of magic and you'll always get at least 1 Rupee off a Green Like-Like (with a rare chance of a 50 Rupee drop!). I have other plans for a negative item drop set, if I even follow through.

You basically have what I was getting at for the first part of what I said. For the certain colour/monster type part of what I said, I meant, lets say, one race of monsters, like the Gibdo's, have the negative items added into the drops. Or, alternatively, have black or purple or some other coloured versions of regular monsters you have which then would have the negative items added to their drops.

The only difference in Link's sprite between the classes is the color? Lame! xD

I finished my Random Theme Contest quest today. Already sent it to Freya and now I'm just waiting for the competition to begin.
