I had a quick question.

In Level 2, when you go south one screen and west one screen, while walking under the overpass (the middle of it, I think) I got an item. (I know it because I heard the generic item-gathering sound.) When I went to the subscreen, I couldn't tell that I'd received any new item, and my bombs were still at 7.
What was placed there? Was it just a magic jar or something?

Can you guys help me? I have to the Ocarina, Power Bracelet, and the first Triforce piece. Am I supposed to climb the terribly hard mountain?

Yes, but not before the second level. But you will need to climb it for the boomerang for level 3.

But with the help of another item you get after Level 2 that isn't the boomerang, there is another worthwhile thing to obtain from the tall scary mountain that I would suggest getting before Level 3.

Well, after my quest kind of broke, I figured I should find something else to do. I heard about this and thought I'd try it, so far it's pretty good, though I've gotten stuck a couple of times and had to look up the videos on Youtube.

I've noticed a couple of minor bugs:
Apprentices is spelled with one p in the string used for Elise's Diary (at least I think it was there)
There's a minor screen scrolling issue where you can bypass one of the flowers in Level 2 and push the block you aren't supposed to without using the wand. You can't really do too much, but it is a little awkward still.
Link's sword is slightly off when he slashes in two directions (Right and Down)

And is there any way to play the LI Build in anything but Fullscreen? I can't find the option in ZC.

Also, with the first Triforce dungeon, I think the second puzzle? I saw how to complete it in your videos, but I still have no clue on how one would figure out what order and direction to go in. The blocks don't really seem to be pointing in any specific way or order I can see.

These have probably been mentioned already, but I figured I better post anyhow in case they weren't.

UPDATE: Aug 22: I noticed a Boomerang puzzle in Level 3 that forces you to throw it Northeast to hit a switch. However, for some reason, on certain computers, you can't throw the boomerang in that direction 99% of the time. It took me a good 5 minutes of randomly slamming on the directional keys to finally get Link to throw it for me, so it is still possible to cross, but you may want to change that in the future.

Thanks for the reports, HylianGlaceon.

I doubt there will be any new versions of Lost Isle as some of the bugs are caused by the engine and we can do nothing about that, also all the "real bugs" aren't anything serious thank goodness.

Have you finished the quest yet?

Well, if you do make a new version or an update for whatever reason, if you guys could at least move that boomerang trigger in Level 3, so it does not require an angle like that, I think that'd make things a bit better. For some players who may not be too familiar with ZC, they may think that the Boomerang can't be thrown in that angle, because it's so difficult to actually get to work on certain computers. I had the same issue with a boomerang trigger in Link to the Heavens as well, thankfully this one wasn't as painful as that.

I haven't finished yet, but I think I'm about halfway through Level 3.

Update: I got to the part with the Boomerang Minigame, and unfortunately, I don't think I can get through it as the Northeast angle is required. I can only throw Northwest and Southeast on my computer.

How about changing your controls to different keys for that part.

Ah, I didn't know that, I'll give that a try later on.

(Nevermind what I said about changing it before, but perhaps a note in the FAQ to try different keys for the directions would be a good idea. I do wish this boomerang bug would get fixed already..)

I know how to do this if you have it on PC/Windows. On your shorcut icon, right-click and select "Properties". In the Properties window under "Target", it should have your filename in quotation marks; click after the quotation marks and add the following:
" -res 512 448 big -windowed" - for double-size screen
" -res 320 240 -windowed" - for normal small screen

I've never been on a Mac much, so I wouldn't know how to do it on a Mac.

Strangely, I can't seem to play the Lost Isle build in anything but a small window. It's hard to play a Zelda quest when you have to squint. T_T

The problem isn't a software one but rather a hardware one. Your keyboard is suffering from a problem best known as "Key Lock". Depending on how the keyboard is designed certain key combinations won't register correctly with numerous keyboards being notoriously bad at handling 3 key key combinations, gamer specific keyboards tend to be better designed and don't suffer from this problem.

A solution for you (other then buying a new keyboard) is to reconfigure your controls in the game and try different keys on the keyboard to perform the north east maneuver.

Less than 8 hours, zero deaths, zero shields lost, zero potions used, 100% completion. My very best. The last four conditions are pretty easy to accomplish with time, but to do it all under 8 hours. It takes some SERIOUS planning on the most expedient route through the island picking up only what is in your way or won't take a lot of time inbetween Point A and B. It was quite a challenge!

Yeah, but you made the thing. You should know better than anybody what the best routes are and where everything is.

I tried playing your game. It was a lot of fun, but I got horribly, horribly lost. Lost Isle is one of the very few games where I could not call it cheating to find and use a map to locate step-by-step where things were.
