can't i save where i am and start from that point instead of starting from the start of the dungeon?

Nope, there are no save states nor save points in Zelda Classic games (don't know about some newer ZC quests though). But there are a lot of shortcuts in Lost Isle, so if you activate them all, you don't have to do lots of backtracking when you die and continue. icon_smile.gif

I had the same problem with Vista as well. Never even tried with Windows 7. Too bad I'm not a tech guy as I'd really want to solve your problem.

I recently found your quest. Not too recently though; it's taken me a while to find my way through level 1 and getting to level 2. (The quest is so huge!! Cool, though.)

I'm stuck in Level 2. I can't figure out how to beat that plant thing. I guess he's a miniboss? Arrows don't work. I've tried getting close enough to slash, but I keep getting killed. I just tried bombing the center, but it didn't seem to do anything.
How do you beat that thing?

You have to bomb it at its roots. Bombing it on the head isn't going to do anything. Which I'm assuming that was what you were doing. Watch my video walkthrough if you are unsure of what to do.

YEAH! I KNOW! LET'S KEEP IT GOING! icon_biggrin.gif
I guess I could by embedding one part every post of my 64 part video walkthrough of this quest. One video a day, eh? A bit much? I guess so...But seriously, this is one of the longer threads on the forums and with good reason. Lost Isle was a landmark quest. Regardless if people loved or hated it to death, they can't deny that fact.

I dunno. it might have something to do with the very complex dungeons and overworld, but more importantly, the dungeons =P

Yeah, I know. Peteo gets all the credit... >_> Even though I gave him the ideas for the dungeons. He merely built them to a brief specification that I built at the beginning of quest production. So for example, the idea for a dual-layered sky garden with rising/falling red/blue blocks was the basic construct that I gave him. What he did with the rest of it, was all Peteo.

I just have to say this quest is a major inspiration. It was the first quest I played, the reason I got into Zelda Classic, and although I haven't finished it (determined to get the sword from the Oderra Catacombs, just need to work up the courage to go through it again) I really enjoyed what I have played so far. I love all of the unique ideas and concepts, which are followed through with beautifully done execution. Your damn right this is a landmark quest, its an incredible work of ingenuity and game design. Right now I'm creating a quest of my own that I hope will impress, and I'm happy to say that Lost Isle is being used as an inspiration and as a model of good design. icon_razz.gif So glad you guys made this, and if you or Petoe make another quest, I will definitely be cheering you on and stick with it until I can play it.

Good luck in future endeavors or whatever you choose to take on in the future, and congratulations on making such an amazing game. icon_smile.gif

I have a pretty bad problem. Whenever I hit a Zol or Zol- like enemy against the wall, and it starts to split, ZC crashes. Because of this, I have to backtrack through Level 1 many times. I got through it, but it also messed me up on the way to Level 2 (I think) Gah!! So FRUSTRATING!!!

My first question to you would be: are you playing it in the Lost Isle Build specifically? Because I remember them doing an overhaul to the custom enemy program portion since the LI Build and the current one. So that may be your problem right there.
