For kicks, I did an any% speedrun of my mini-quest up to what I have finished ATM. Despite having the game drop down to 40-45 FPS for no reason which it does after a few minutes of running no matter what I do, I was able to chalk up a decent 11:36 run. The goal was to simply get inside of level 2, since I didn't really start on it yet other than the first room past the entrance. My run had a few mistakes but overall wasn't bad at all. May attempt to top if I could somehow find a solution to ZC lagging like hell. It doesn't matter how many programs I close, what the priority of ZC is set to and whether or not it's in fullscreen; it always lags. It's not like I'm running ZC on a Windows XP with 256MB of RAM (though on my old laptop, ZC had a different kind of lag; the controls would lock up for a few seconds at a time; no slowdown). I have a 4 GB RAM Windows 7 and it runs like garbage for no reason at random intervals. I simply cannot play with the immense lag. And that's just a plain NES-style quest too. Imagine me playing a script-intensive quest with that kind of lag...
I think for the hell of it, when I get a chance, I'll kill myself at random places and ensure there are no continue bugs or anything like that. Just curious; does dying, F6'ing and using Farore's Wind all have the exact same result when it comes to returning you to the DMap's continue point? In other words, would I only have to do one of those three to make sure there are no continue bugs so I don't have to do all three? Because I'm beginning to wonder if I really need to do all that to test for that kind of stuff.
