Well...Equestria Daily just rejected my Twin Peaks crossover fanfic, but I'm not upset. If anything, I'm giddy and euphoric and I really want to start work on my next fic. You'll see why when you read the response...BRB, must cry tears of joy...

Thank you for submitting this story to Equestria Daily. Unfortunately, it does not meet our needs. This was a very hard story for us to have to turn down for posting, and it was the subject of a long debate. It seemed at one point that we had every pre-reader old enough to remember when Twin Peaks was still on television in on the debate.

In the end, however, we had to turn it down for the following reasons:

1.) There were some minor grammatical issues.

Trixie attempts to take Twilight life

This should read "Twilight's life". These issues were sporadic though, and would have held up the story only long enough for you to fix them. However...

2.) The choices of characters seemed off. As the mystery surrounding Silver Tiara's murder began to unfold characters began feeling less and less like they had been appropriately chosen for their roles. We were baffled by how little Celestia fought to keep Twilight from leaving. We wondered over how much of the Applejack we knew was going into Sheriff Fillmore. However, these would have been acceptable with minor revisions, if...

3.) The source material is simply too vague. As we stated, it took our gray-haired Depends-wearing contingent of pre-readers to shuffle their wheelchairs over to their computers to get a good grasp on how well the story fit with Twin Peaks. The debate that ensued basically amounted to us all complaining about how old we are and realizing that the majority of Bronies, most of whom were potty-training when the show aired, would not suffer anything older than The Simpsons very well.

Needless to say, we were depressed.

We wish to impart to you how very, very, very close this story was to making the blog. Like you previous entry, Mods Asleep Post Humans, we all wanted it to work. In the end we realized that most of our readership would be confused by the story and would vote it down out of hand. We'd rather not subject you to that. Our suggestion is that you continue to enjoy the story's response on FIMFiction... and, please, please, please, do not stop trying. We await your next work.

Aww, that's so wonderful that they really gave you serious feedback. ^_^ I'm actually amazed that there are entire teams of people who devote such diligence to overviews of things that haven't reached the public eye yet within a database setting.

Daggum, so close... Why is close(like Close to me) and close(Like Close the door) spelled the same?It's kinda like wind(Like the wind is blowing) and wind(Like wind up the machine)... This post was useless...

I wouldn't find them so obnoxious if they weren't all just re-colors. I mean, for a community that prides itself on effort and quality, we sure have gotten LAZY about our vectors.

I don't really find that annoying. (in fact, it actually resulted in quite a hilarious one once) The reason I get so worked up about them is because I have an aversion to anything pony-related that could be considered even remotely sexual. And, for obvious reasons, wet mane pics trigger that reaction. However, I would like to say that I was probably heavily exaggerating in my last post. I think I was already really angry about something when I saw the pic, so it stacked on. That's not to say that wet mane pics don't annoy me a lot, though. Nothing pisses me off more. But they don't piss me off that much.

Oh, DR, you completely misunderstood me. I have an aversion to anything sexual, not romance. (Unless that's what you were trying to get at, in which case, let's just pretend this conversation never happened. For your safety. ) However, I will admit, at first, that post did trigger my aversion to shipping. Somehow. Or maybe it was my aversion to romance fanfics that don't really make sense. I dunno, the two are practically one and the same. Also, the font size gave me the funny mental image of someone awkwardly shouting across the table at a dinner party.

Okay, the following statements are me being 100% honest, and I'm saying them just so we can be on the same page.
1. When I said "we're getting pretty serious", that was my roundabout way of saying "we're considering taking it to the next level".
2. Before you kill me for statement #1, I would like to point out that in general, I hate sexual content as well. But sometimes, when the intention is innocent enough, you've just got to laugh about it. I didn't objectify Fluttershy by making that statement - the phrasing implied that it was mutual.
3. I have a legitimate crush on Fluttershy.
4. I believe that having a crush on a character from MLP is not bestiality. They are human minds in pony bodies, so to call it bestiality is actually quite shallow and shows no respect for their personality.
5. Shipping only sucks because people don't know how to do it right. It's not that shipping sucks as a concept - there is a right and a wrong way to ship ponies, and most writers don't know it.
6. The text sizes were to make the ordinary-sized text look whispered.
7. When God gives you lemons, you find a new God.

1. Yeah, I figured that's what you meant but, y'know, it could've meant any number of things.
2. Objectifying isn't strictly neccesary to trigger the reaction. I mean, the idea of, say, for example, somepony wanting to get pregnant and have a child, yeah, I'm completely fine with that...until I start imagining the process, which seems to always happen because my brain hates me. Do not do it...Do not-DAMMIT.
3. Well, I find that a...little bit weird, but I won't judge you for it. Just because I wouldn't feel that way doesn't mean you shouldn't.
4. I agree, but I don't really have much else to say on the matter.
5. Yeah, that's what I meant by shipping and romance-that-doesn't-make-sense practically being the same thing, it's near impossible to find well thought-out shipping that actually makes sense. I think the closest I've come is Twilight and Big Macintosh, which, well, Twilight having feelings for Big Mac, yeah, I could see that happening, it's not entirely implausible but shipping involving Big Macintosh, eh, it doesn't really work. Big Macintosh doesn't seem like the kinda guy who would want to be in a relationship with somepony. Another problem I have with shipping is that it's almost always extremely cheesy. Again, not a problem with shipping itself, but most shipping fanfics have that problem.
6. Yeah, I know, but whenever I see all caps or large text, it immediately makes me think of shouting. Not angry or excited shouting, just plain shouting. I've no idea where the dinner party part came from, though.
7. ...Wut.

EDIT:Well how about that, right after I post this, I see another one of those goddamn wet mane pics, the thing that started this whole discussion.

I've seen a number of pony rule 34 images, and they don't even remotely bother me. I do have a few issues with this content existing, though, but I don't look down on anyone who likes it or anything.

Also, some of the rule 34 images are actually really astonishingly good pieces of artwork. It makes me sad, and, maybe I shouldn't feel this way, but I can't help but consider it something of a waste of talent.
