I feel the Elite 4 is completely rushed.  It made me wonder, "wow, are these islands that small, or are you guys the only strong trainers" because, one of them, is the guy you fight on the first island after you get your starter.

 

That being said, the game was fantastic.  I just beat the champion, and now I still have so much to do, Pokemon to catch.  From what I heard, the ending of the game changes after you beat them again.  The levels of the Elite 4 are also around level 55-60 first time around.

 

This was one of the most fun Pokemon games I've ever played, even though it was a little cutscene heavy.  I greatly recommend it, and I'm buying it once it comes out on Thursday.

Once you beat the E4 and become champ, running through again and beating the E4 means you have to defend your title against a random Trainer, your rival included.  Nothing special happens if you lose, unfortunately, you just white/black out like normal.  But it's nice to see you actually take the role of a champion this time around.  

I hope that becomes a staple, and they expand on it further, so that more happens.

If that's the case, that's amazing, and only reenforces how great this game is.  Honestly, it's one of the best that I've ever played in recent memory, even as far back as gen 3.  My complaints for it are minor, at best.

So can you have non-Alolan forms in Sun/Moon or do they become Alolan as soon as you get them in a trade/upload? Hoping you can have both in your game.

You can have both.  You fight trainers in the game that have either, I can only surmise you can have one alongside the other.  Considering PokeBank won't be available until January, I've no way of testing for sure, but I'm fairly certain that's the case.

So i read that this gen apparently uses Gen 5 leveling system. A system where you gain less exp the higher your pokemon's level is in contrast to the opponent's pokemon level. Please tell me this is not true, i loathe Gen 5's leveling system.

 

 

I also look at the stats of the final evolution of the starters and why are they so slow? The one with the highest speed is the Grass starter and it has a 70 base Speed.

As far as I know, they're perm.  I didn't get banned because I wasn't a dumbass that went online to a game that didn't come out yet.  (RIP those that did)

So, now that the game is fully out, I'll play the Sun version.  Since I beat Moon a little while ago, I figured I'd try Sun out to see if it feels any different.

 

Also, I was able to migrate my save data from the leak to the official version off the eshop.  At least I don't have to play that version of the game all over again.

I went to Gamestops midnight release (since it's a five minute walk from my apartment next door, didn't even take my truck). I didn't have much time to play it as I had to leave for work at 3:30am. I should make progress as I have this weekend off and four days next weekend. That being said of the little I played it so far it's great and I enjoy the battle system.

Does this generation have secret bases? Google didn't turn up much and I have progressed very far in the game yet. I loved the secret bases in OR/AS as they had lots of customization (though bigger bases would have been nice).

Well, two and a half hours in and I can't say I'm too impressed. So many tutorials. Whose idea was it to make Trainer School mandatory. The heavy handedness of it all was almost unbearable. I can't remember the last time I played a game that had that slow of an opening.

But you can wear a fedora so all is forgiven.

Pretty sure it doesn't. I even checked Serebii and it doesn't say it has. This is pretty much something me and a lot of other people have grown acostumed to. Gamefreak loves to remove features between generations to try to make the older gen more unique (which is complete bullshit), basically saying for you to buy the previous games if you want that feature. This has been happening since Gen 3.

 

 

Trainer School is mandatory? Okay, i've been defending the series for a while for not being too handholdy (they still hold your hand here and there), but making Trainer School mandatory is really pushing it. These games are looking worse and worse the more stuff i discover about them
