I know what to say.  They obviously just watched Sailor Moon.  So expect there to be a long animation with fitting music playing while they transform next to a colorful background.

So hey, I think this could actually be cool. Not a big fan of the naming scheme (can't we have normal names instead of mega-pokemon?), but it looks kinda cool. Well, dragon ampharos looks cool at least. The new Lucario form doesn't look quite as cool, but oh well. It's not too shocking of an idea really; I wanna say this was something they considered for the first gen but scrapped.

I agree with Russ. While we may not have asked for them, but I can definitely see potential for this. A lot of older pokemon need a boost and this will hopefully give some of them that needed boost. The only thing that seems really off about them is the naming scheme.

However, I seriously hope that these pokemon don't break the metagame, as many of the pokemon who are receiving them are top-tier (or even banned, in the case of Blaziken). Lucario in particular I am concerned about.

So it's not like a normal evolution then, just a temporary thing. Which... really isn't helping the "Not ripping off Digimon" case. Either way, it looks kinda cool. But if it takes a whole turn of battle to use, I dunno, might not be worth it all the time. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Oh, also, that bit about the Mega Stone not being available during normal gameplay... great, more one time events. Kinda sick of how the series relies so heavily on those. Oh well.

This is probably just one of those things, where they introduce a new gimmick or pokemon that everyone is on the fence about, but end up loving later. I would give it more time before making any final opinions on it.

I have to agree with that.  Unobtainable Event Pokemon after the event ends is one thing, but doing the same to game features itself is another, which makes it feel like DLC....DLC?  Did EA have a hand in this?

Only available during battle... I think I'm okay with this. Can't help but think its justification in-universe is "desperation ability" and its actual use is for players who aren't that good at the game to have a little edge.

 

Also, is it bad I cared more about the fact that you can grind on rails now? >.>

I think it's best to ask WHY does it need to be done in battles?  I see Mega-evolutions as nothing more than a form change at best, from what we're seeing so far, so why not do what other form changes did, and create some sort of object we have to interact with to change their forms?  Shaymin needed some rock, Deoxys needed meteors, Rotom needed appliances, etc.  Why is it just restricted to in battle, as well as an event hold item?

A few new details, and apparently these Megavolutions won't take up a full turn. So... possibly more broken?

Oh? This game does not use grid-based movement anymore? Also, why is there always two versions of each pokemon game? Maybe someone could take that idea and release two versions of their quests for ZC like that. Also, it seems this game is for 3DS. Maybe I'll try it out.
