Alright... I'll be 100% honest here... I beat LoH with cheats since it was way too hard for me, meaning that I didn't play this properly... BUT, from what I played, I loved the challenge feel to the quest, even if I couldn't finish Fortress 1. When the IE version is done... I'll probably give it a try and see how well I can do. If I get far in the IE version and I do really good (although I don't think I'm that pro at all), I'll replay LoH without cheats this time and see how well I can do.

Or I could just replay it now :D

Gleeok :) May I be the congratulate you in person on your win in LoH. You are a very good player.

I played your Green Ninja quest. I didn't need any cheats, but I got stuck in a shutter room in level 2 where there were the blue goriyas. Is that a bug or is it the end of the game coz you ran out of time? The red candle helped a lot in clearing the rooms very quickly. Also, I could never get the magic shield in the middle of the lake at the start. I can see that that kind of difficulty will cause people fits though, even though its nothing compared to your dungeon impossible.

As for the full review, I thought you said something about it in your last post, but I must be mistaken. Never mind.

Aaaaarg! Why doesn't anyone ever press the teleport buttons!!! watsamattawifau? :P https://www.youtube....h?v=AOLA5b9SkV8
First 3 levels aand Arena 1 almost done, but beyond that: blech. But I don't need to tell you how tricky it is to complete these things.

Yeah, the only review I gave was in this thread from last year (page 12-13?) so I was assuming you read it already from your post. I played it in segments so it took me about a year (off and on) to beat it. Naturally I'm a little hazy on some minor details but I still remember most of it.

@Eddy - LoH: IE is the extreme version of LoH.  When author's use Extreme in their quest titles it means the more difficult version of their normal quest.  For instance, DarkFlameWolf used Extreme in her quests to signify that she was going to use super powerful enemies instead of the normal ones to cater for us - the challenge quest players.

If you like challenge quests then I'm happy for you.  Its a whole new way to enjoy Zelda that most players overlook.  But I do recommend the easier ones - Armageddon Quest Forever, the James quests, DarkFlameWolf's Extreme quests, Gleeok's GreenNinja, the Demo Quest.  LoH and LoH: IE are the most extreme challenge quests to date.

I also wouldn't feel comfortable giving out IE (it won't be on the database) to anyone who I felt wasn't suitably prepared for its challenges.  When someone who isn't prepared to play challenge quests attempts IE or LoH its just going to end very badly for both the player involved and for myself.  Have a look at the review about LoH or AQ and you'll see what I mean.  If you can beat LoH then I'd say you're ready - good luck :)

@Gleeok - ok, I'll give it another shot.  If you need someone to help you beta test any of your later levels, I'd gladly help you.  You can rest assured that I have all the abilities necessary to handle challenges and that you won't need to be sending me any cheats codes :)

Edit:  Wow, and to think I got to arena 2 without any magic shield or teleporting.

I understand. I'm looking forward to playing LoH again, but I'll take the recommendations that you've stated.

After those quests you've recommended, I think after I give those a try I'll be properly ready for the LoH.

@Zecora:  I choose retry a lot when I die. May I ask you a question. How did you obtain the arrow from the death knight in fortress 2 with out dying? Watch my video below at 4:55 to know what I am talking about.

Gotta agree with Yloh's point on this.  You can't 0 game LoH because of the death knight in fortress 2.  Unless there's some technique I didn't know about, I don't think you can grab the arrow off him without dying.  I also don't think you can progress very far without the wooden arrow.  The two manhandlas on level 3 would be nearly impossible without bow+arrow.  This will be fixed for LoH:IE - you will theoretically be able to 0 game LoH:IE and I plan to retain that death knight trick...you'll see.

I'd put you on the hall of fame Zecora, but you gotta explain this part first.

I'd also like to congratulate ShadowTiger to Liberation's Hall of Fame.  He/she is a very skilled player and has completed LoH without cheating.

You've got to be kidding me? Your supposed to die there. I got it by slashing him from the side grabbing it and F6 continuing. Took way too many attempts.

That works because as I'm almost 100% sure you know, enemies can't deal contact damage while flashing from being hit. Still, from your video, weren't you both sword and item jinxed? Unless you can somehow get there with 11+ hearts to tank contact damage once, I don't see how it's possible. I've never played it myself, nor would I have the patience to. But I'm going off your videos.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you could actually get items from enemies with out ever touching them or anything.

Those where just item jinxes. I know about flashing enemies not being able to deal contact damage, but to do that on a death knight is meaningless. One of the hints in the dungeon says you have to run at the death knight at a certain angel in order to obtain the arrow from him. I thought it was a neat idea, but I also didn't like the idea of the game forcing you to take a death for an important item.

The fact that Zecora took the time to reset the game at every failed attempt amazes me. With each attempt: you had to spend 3-5 minutes just to reach the death knight, multiply that by the number of attempts, and you got hours of painful attempts just to obtain some stupid arrows from some stupid knight. Something that, if you took the death, would only take a second to accomplish. Not only that, but you had to use the F6 trick in order to escape without a death.

I can't think of any way to continue the game without the bow and arrows without using a cheat item. James24 did an excellent job at making sure you had to utilize every resource available to you in order to succeed.

It just dawned on me. RedmageAdam, you are right. Both my sword and items where jinxed at that point of the game. How in the world did you even reach the death knight while ditching the sword jinxes Zecora?

I still have my old save file and tried to reach the death knight without getting hit by a sword jinx. It is possible to ditch the sword jinx by using the blue candle and fire boomerang, but I couldn't think of a method of ditching a sword jinx with only a blue candle, basic boomerang, and wooden sword.

I'm going to have to be the one to say it I guess: Zecora is just screwing with you guys. :P

Nobody has THAT level of patience and I would like to make the point that anyone good enough to do so has too much pride to NOT count a retry as a death. Personally, I would rather finish a game legitimately with a few deaths than to artificially beat it.

IE sounds like quite an ordeal. >_<
