For the record, your trees uses more colours then what the NES would be able to handle. Four is the max limit per tile, and transparent is counted as one.

Not that it really matters at all, but I just thought I would let you know, the screens look great.

Lol, I know icon_razz.gif It would be nearly impossible for me to make anything look good with just 4 colors though. Thanks for letting me know anyway icon_wink.gif

Thanks Sheik, your screens are very impressive too. I actually made this based on how you used classic on one of your MotM entries, and it evolved from there icon_smile.gif

I'm not sure to do with this... I think it looks better generally but it would be a pain to do with all the palletes, plus I sort of like the black. It makes it feel more like classic. What do you guys think?

I think you should go with a green that is in the middle of the two pictures you showed, I believe that will still be dark enough to look good while still adding to the green (grass, trees, flowers, etc, (Not colour)) factor.

HollowKnight, that is marvelous. icon_biggrin.gif You did a great job on the Armos statues. Beautiful work all around. I admit though that the screen itself is slightly painful on the eyes in terms of color brightness. But I don't mind much. icon_razz.gif

Anyway guys!

I've promised myself to keep the screenshot-posting in this thread to a minimum, but a very occasional screenie once or twice will be fine. So, check out what I just got done with:

IPB Image IPB Image

The Hammer is now both a Melee weapon AND a Ranged weapon. icon_biggrin.gif But both weapons are still as slow as ever. The Ranged attack flies through the air in a slow arc and hits the ground nearly two full seconds later. Excellent Anti-Air coverage, though.

Oh, and I put the two screenshots as URL Links in my sig, too.

I know there's not much graphical stuff to critique on, so if you must, tell me how I did with my Subscreen? icon_ohmy.gif A lot of it is reserved for scripted features, including the blacked-out blurry parts in the lower right, so it's still technically a WIP, but the majority of it is all here. I know I suck horridly with subscreen design-- I wasn't aiming for something nice on the eyes, it's a struggle to even make something usable here, so I'm open to pointers on that if anyone has any.

Subscreen looks great! I'm not sure what you mean with being awful at subscreen design, looks both creative and effective! I've probably missed it somewhere, but what quest is that from? (it's one I'll want to keep an eye on!)

I really like the damage numbers (I assume thats what it is) above the enemy's heads. Gives sort of a RPG feel!

What is this ENEMY life bar I see? Is that a new fearure, Schwa? Are you hogging all the awesome? Haha JK. But yeah, since this is a fairly basic screen (perfect for a wave of incoming enemies), I'm going to comment on your subscreen and new hammer sprites: absolutely perfect.

@Twinblake: It's from his quest, Project RCS.

It's amazing, Schwa. I like what you've done with the hammer, too. I have one complaint, though: why are the counters separated by the "~" symbols? I think it would be more visually appealing if you had them all together.

I guess I don't have to tell you that this is one impressive hammer you got there. I'm most certain you know that. Still, it doesn't hurt, so here you go: This is one amazing hammer you got there! (In general, I like your approach on the items in this project. Is there any item you do not or plan not to customize, actually? What we've seen so far is very nice icon_smile.gif)
The subscreen, it's perfectly fine in my opinion. It's understandable and everything, what would you want more? I really like those item frames you've got there.
What would be a nice addition, porbably, would be to have the frame which says "WAVES LEFT" on the subscreen, too, but I doubt it's possible (than again, being who you are you probably are capable of achieving that effect, thus I mention it at all).

It looks good, but I think the area indicator looks awkward. I don't like the "overworld" being on the bottom with nothing above it, especially since "area:" is centered. If I may:

IPB Image

Of course, you'd have to script it to get longer names on one line.

Thanks icon_smile.gif I'm not sure how I could make the colors less painful without ruining the pallete, though...

Very nice screen. I really like what you did with the classic tiles.... they are amazing. Things like this give me inspiration to make the next level icon_razz.gif I think I finally know what I'm going to do with the stupid graveyard pallete...

Link, with his newly found Bow and Arrow, begins to suspect the second key to Sapphire Fountain might be hidden between those torches. On the other hand, he's also fearing that his Bow and Arrow might be taken away and moved to later point in the quest. icon_frown.gif

That's VERY good, Moo2wo!
I think you need another shallow water patch on the top left though.

Are you using Pure Remembrance? And did you put the Link tiles yourself? :O

Added the shallow water patch. icon_razz.gif Yes, I'm using PR, albeit modified. Most of the stuff that isn't included you can get from DoR. For example, I don't think the tileset comes with the MC pine tree trunks.

Also, the DoR Link tiles come with Pure Remembrance. When you're downloading it, there's also a folder called "extra-tiles" that come with it. You'd be surprised by what you can find in there. I think there are even a few MC rips.
